never step barefoot on a carpet or bathroom floor in a hotel, I don't. I hear crazy things on the radio, TV and I get grossed out from it, like the time I heard someone stepped on a toenail, Eeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, I could throw up?

It doesn't bother me to walk barefoot on the carpet or bathroom. But I feel uncomfortable thinking about the comforters on the bed.

I try not to think of any of that, otherwise, I would freak myself out.

For instance, at Disneyworld, I'm supposed to at a home away from home. There's no way I'd pad around in flipflops all day at home.

My DH's grandmother bought an RV so she won't ever have to stay in a hotel ever again and I think she's a little bit crazy.

Well thanks for the great case of the giggles!!! I read your post and got the most vivid visual of you pulling yourself around the room using this elaborate pulley system......kinda like Tinkerbell...wearing a gas mask!! THEN I read Jason's post!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!

I can't walk around in bear feet at all; I've got horrible, high arches, and if I walk around in bear feet at all, I'm crippled in half and hour.
So it's either sneakers all the time, or I have one pair of flip flops I can wear, with some arch suport.

walking barefoot on a hotel carpet doesn't bother me at all.

What I would consider worse is shopping carts. Have you ever thought about how many hands have touched the cart before you take it? And who knows where those hands have been. Nose picking,sneezing,kids with their hands in their mouths etc... YUK.


I knew somebody once who would not touch a door knob without using a handkerchief to hold the knob.

I try not to think about it too much otherwise I think it would drive you mental.

I won't step on a hotel floor without shoes on nor do I let my children. I don't have slippers for the toddler so I put his water shoes on when we're in the hotel.

I put a cover on the grocery cart seat for baby to sit in, so I don't touch the cart either or I wash my hands as soon as I possibly can or use cleansing gel or a baby butt wipe on my hands after shopping.

I'm one of those crazy people you see trying not to touch door knobs/handles either. I usually have paper towel with me to avoid touching those....especially during cold/flu season.

Yep.....I'm weird!

I'm with you here. I keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in my car. As soon as I get out of the supermarket, I'm rubbing it all over my hands. Those carts are real germ pits!
