I have been debating on how many people that you need to have going to make it worth getting a GV. I think that a few one bedrooms would be better sometimes.

some trips as a child

BWV 9/00, 12/01
VB 9/00, 5/01

If you are not as concerned with points, I would say go for the grand villa! I own at BWV, and was there in September'00 with 16 people. We had two 2 bedrooms and 2 studios, only because it was my extended family. If I went with 6 or 7 min, I may consider a GV. Next trip will HAVE to be one! When we were there we had a GV two or three rooms down, and one day while it was empty, housekeeping let us go in and check it out! AWESOME! It will be on the list for the next family vacation for sure!

Hope this helps! :D

Eight is a little much in a 2br (unless its 4 couples). So w/ 7 adults or 8 kids/adults, i'd go with a gv.

Four couples in a two bedroom? I wouldn't be comfortable with that.

We have often taken a Grand Villa with one other couple and let the kids take the third bedroom. We only have one kid, if the other couple only has one kid, that makes six in the Grand Villa.

I think it all depends on how you like to vacation. Personally, I'd feel uncomfortable asking any adult friend or family member to sleep on a pullout sofa. We're going down this May with 7 in a Grand Villa. The 3 couples will each get separate rooms and the one kid we're bringing gets the living room pullout. If we were traveling with just one couple I'd probably get a 2 bedroom.

on how important your points are to you. Some folks throw points around like nothing. Others gurard them like they are gold to maximize their stays. Hopefully you know the dispositions of the folks your asking along so just have a conservation with them describing the accomodations available. I would then base my decision on what type of feedback I receive back from all concerned. It may depend if you are asking folks to chip in groceries or something. I know that when my spouse and I did not have children, we stayed several times in a 2 bedroom and we slept on the sleeper sofa and had no problems with it. Hey it was Disney and the price was right. These trips consisted of 5 adults and 2 kids. Things went fine, but we were all family....brother/sister-in-law/their 2 boys/mom and us. We guard our points like they are gold. But maybe that is just us.

I guard my pts like gold also ;)

If someone is just looking for is bed capacity, then studios provide the most capacity per point.

But to really enjoy a DVC vacation, the larger units are the way to go.

I think richyams has the right idea! A Grand Villa for two families... excellent! Think about dining together around the large dining table. Think about the kids sharing a room while the parents each have their own private rooms. Think about the bathroom capacity when everyone is trying to get ready in the morning. Think about watching a movie together in the evening in the spacious living room. Think about the feeling of luxury.

Of course, I've often posted that a 2-bedroom is the way to go for a family of four. That's what we've done ever since we joined (even back when the kids were just 3 and 5).

Have you seen the GV? with that many people going get the GV that way you all have some breathing space when you get back from the parks. I stayed in 1 with my family of 8 and it was sell worth. each bedroom have their bathroom and even the person sleeping on the sofa has a bathroom. the size of this condo is amazing and I am the hardest person to please. example I went to a Marriott hotel and thought the room was cheap the only thing nice I thought was the lobby. Marriott in the Cayman Island.

You will not regret it i also guard my pts like Platium not gold <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="razz">

We have stayed in all size units at OKW, but the GVs are incredible! I would say if you have another couple and kids, go for the grand villa. If you just have one other couple and no kids, go for a 2 Bedroom. We have done 6 in a 2 bedroom with no problem, but for 8 I would want a GV.
