going for 7 nights - april 3-10th with 2.5+ and 6+ yr old.

How many outfits should I plan per day to cover all possible scenarios with these ages? (how many 'shorts/t-shirts combos' and how many 'long sleeve/long pants combos'?)

By the way, most likely will NOT be doing laundry.

Do you think it will be chilly at night?

thx

I usually overpack but with a 2.5 year old, I would do 2 short outfits and one warm (pants outfit), with the 6 year old I would do 1 short outfit and 1 warm outfit. Then when I have that all packed per day I usually throw 1 or 2 more outfits in for each for good measure!!
We were there April 5th -16th 2002 and we never found it chilly at night but we are from Northern Wisconsin and 45 is warm for us! I'd carry along a sweatshirt for each kid though just in case. That's what I did for my kids (4 & 8 at the time)

Only 268 days until our first FW visit:D

DD1 did not get that dirty, so we did not need to change her clothes each day. If you are going to be out in the evening, instead of bringing a ton of extra sweatshirts, why not just pack a few, and a sweat jacket to wear over tshirts? I brought an extra outfit into the parks in a ziploc, just in case, but we hardly ever used it. If your kids are going on water rides, eating messy snacks, or not wearing bibs (I brought bibsters for DD1) you may need the two outfits per day, or maybe just an extra tshirt. I tried to pack less by bringing some light sundresses instead of just tshirts and shorts (less clothing items). Check the weather forecasts before you go (don't worry if it says rain, it may rain for a few moments a day) and use that to judge if you will need a lot of long pants and sweatshirts. I find you can pack a LOT of little kids clothes in a suitcase (in space bags), so I would'nt stress over it.

For our first trip when kids were 1.5, 2.5, and 5, I packed 1 shorts outfit a day plus 2 extra. (we were there for 7 days so a total of 9 outfits per child). I packed them each 1 pr. of jeans, 1 sweatshirt and 1 spring jacket. It was plenty! Worst comes to worse you can wash out a t-shirt in the sink with shampoo. Who wants to carry all of that luggage? Besides, you will probably end up buying a sweatshirt and/or t-shirt for everyone--we always do!
Have fun!!!:earsgirl:

I usually bring 1 outfit per day plus 3 extras for DD who's now 4 1/2. Included in the extras would be one pair of long pants (usually leggings). I also bring 1 sweatshirt and 1 windbreaker for her. As a precaution I also bring shout wipes and a very small bottle of laundry detergent with me in case we start to run low on clothes I need to hand wash something.

My kids were almost the exact same age as yours when we went last year...I packed one outfit per day (and had them all in ziploc baggies--anal, I know), plus a couple extra underpants for older DS, a sweatshirt for each, and two pairs of pants for each. We went in early March and there was only 1 day where we needed the pants or sweatshirt- it was quite warm (in the 70's or 80's) every day and evening. I did bring a small thing of Purex tablets and some dryer sheets so if I did need to do laundry I wouldn't have to pay for the soap. I had all of their clothes packed in one large duffel bag and it worked great. And as a previous poster said, don't forget you will probably buy them each a tshirt or two! I know we did!

also keep in mind and try to find out if your hotel has laundry facilities, then you can wash, we are staying off property for a few days before heading to the GF and we are going to wash clothes before heading to next hotel.
