How many OPENED boxes of cereal do you have right now?

I grew up with "we don't open a new box until the old one is finished". Now that I have my own house and realize some mornings I don't feel like Rice Krispies and I'd rather have Cheerios (mother), we have currently have 4.
Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Frosted Mini Wheats, and Rice Krispies.

I grew up in the same type of household - you never got to open a new box until the old one was finished, crumbs & all. We love cereal here -when DH is out of town for work the kids & I eat cereal for supper. It's usually more nutritious than fast food or pre-packaged frozen garbage. We have everything here from Kashi & All Bran (ok they're for me - gotta have my fiber!) to Frosted Flakes & Cap'n Crunch. I love them all! My new favorite right now is Kellogg's Strawberry All Bran - VERY tasty & sweet - and 10 grams of fiber per serving!

Right now we have 3 - Rice Crispies, Special K and Honey Bunches of Oats. My mom only let us open 1 at a time too but DS 15 can eat a box in only a couple days so no worries about it getting stale!

Does anyone else have to hide a box to last for the end of the week?

Just one actually. Mainly because I only buy one box of cereal at a time. We eat it until it's gone and then I get another box.
But we're not big cereal eaters so we do well to eat what we have before it goes stale.

I'm the only one that eats cereal and I eat the same kind. Multi-Grain Cheerios every morning. So there's only one box open at a time.

About 8. I'm guessing at least 6 of them will eventually wind up in the garbage.

My kids go in spurts. Sometimes they eat a lot of cereal, and sometimes it gets stale before they finish it. I need to just stop buying so much since it goes to waste.

I have zero open boxes of cereal, only because I just started to buy the small boxes that only have enough for one bowl.
I got tired of having tons of boxes open and having the cereal going bad.
Since my children are all grown I need cereal here for the grandchildren.

Wow, where do you live and shop? Cereal is my kids' favorite food. They eat it for breakfast, afterschool snack, substitute dinner if they hate what I've made, and often dry in a ziploc bag as a snack while watching tv. I usually buy at least 6 boxes every week. I try to buy whatever is on sale but cereal is pretty expensive!
