They're both great, but the food is better at Universal, and we've found that the RPR is an actual hotel that is reasonably priced.

:thumbsup2 This is my opinion also!! :thumbsup2

Not only is the food better, its cheaper and RPR is one of the best resorts we ever stayed..

We have done 5 disney trips and we our doing our 1st universal trip this yr for a week. i am hoping it will be very relaxing staying onsite... we need a break from planning meals 6 months in advance and marching all over creation for extra hours. i will miss disney but when i'm there i can't help but go commando...

We go to Orlando at least once a year, sometimes twice and when we go we switch off between WDW and UO. One year/trip we concentrate on WDW and then next UO. We like them both equally but they and our trips are very different altogether. This trip in May we are doing a beach trip to the Gulf coast and then UO for 6 days. In October we plan on just doing WDW. Sometimes we throw in Seaworld, but usually every other year.

WDW and UO are different mindsets. UO is laid back because of the FOTL - no need to get going at 8 a.m. and rush from one ride to the next, so we can actually enjoy a more relaxing vacation. Also with so many restaurant choices available at the hotels and Citiwalk, there is no need to leave UO for dining. WDW is more hectic and you definitely need a game plan of attack for the rides. We've gone so many times that we have Fastpass down to a science, but I find it a more time consuming trip. We stay at YC/BC which offers many dining choices in the area and no need to travel far for food, but getting on a bus to go to MK drives me crazy!

We've done both WDW and UO in one trip, but I prefer to keep them separate.

Either way, we love them both! :cheer2:

Both, but I favor UO more while my wife favors Disney more. My daughter who is a special needs child loves both, but gets tired out more at Disney. Just too difficult to keep the pace up on a week long trip. We love the hotels more at UO due to both FOTL and convenience of going back to the room if we need a midday break. I know we could always do that at WDW and often do but it takes so long to sometimes get a bus back and return. I once went back to the room at POP Century with my DW and DD and returned to the park later by myself to ride some rides solo and it took nearly 3 hrs without stopping for lunch or rest, just directly there and back. At WDW that is just way too much wasted ride time. Yes we could stay at a closer Deluxe at WDW but the price is nowhere near comparable to UO hotels and often outside our budget.

I also love them both equally but HAD to put WDW as favourite as we were married there ;)- otherwise it is a complete tie (although UO is home to THE best hotel - I LOVE Hard Rock!!):thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I like both but since this was not an option picked the WDW more because of the extra parks :)

I can't lie. I much prefer UO. I grew up with do love both but there's just nothing that like a vacation at the Universal Orlando Resort. The parks are top notch and feature some of my absolute favorite attractions anywhere, the service at the on-site hotels in fantastic, and you're always just a short walk away from the fun.

I also prefer DL to WDW. I guess I like resorts with 2 parks packed with attractions and walking distance on-site hotels :confused3:laughing:

Put me down for both equally! We're DVC members and wish Hard Rock would do someting similar!

Phil :)

I frequent THIS board every trip here to the DIS. I don't typically post a lot here, but that is because I don't know nearly as much about UO than I do WDW. However, I come here every time I sign on to try to gain knowledge of UO and to see if there are any threads that I can help out with. With that being said, I was just interested in seeing how many people here come to this board and consider themselves HUGE WDW fans. I know that typically a lot of people think that if you are a big WDW fan that you can't possibly like UO, but I disagree. I think you can like both, because that is how I am! So, just wanted to throw this poll out there because it interests me! Thanks all! :thumbsup2

MAJOR WDW fan but enjoy going to US/IOA at times too.

We love both, and we always do a split stay
But we make sure we do US/IOA at the end because we stay on site
and the FOTL access is incredible. You can't go from no lines to waiting in lines at WDW

Definately more of a UO fan.

This year we will do MK for Wishes and DHS for RNR and TOT and thats about it really. Rest of our two weeks will be spent between both Universal parks, day or 2 at the Clearwater, Seaworld and Millenia Mall shopping :dance3:

If it wasnt for Wishes which I do love, we wouldn`t bother this year with Disney.

Love those FOTL passes :cool1:

I apologize to everyone! I really blew this poll bigtime! I totally forgot about the both equally option, which I think would show a more true result! Sorry all!

Maybe start a new poll? :thumbsup2

Well, since this has gotten to 3 pages now, I would hate to start it all over. If I could edit the poll I would, but I don't have adequate permissions to do so. I don't want to start another thread on the same subject!

Love them both, I couldn't do a trip to Orlando missing either one of these parks.

We like them both about equally. I feel there's more to do at Disney, but I love the relaxed atmosphere at Universal.

I must say I'm feeling a bit nickel and dimed at Uni these days, and because of that, I'm spending more of our weekend trips at Disney. My dollar just goes a lot further at Disney in these economic times. Wish the economy was how it was a few years ago and these things didn't matter so much, but the cheapest room rate I could get for my stay last week at Uni was $134 per night at RPR, plus the high parking fee ($15 bucks now?). WDW gave me a FL resident rate of $57 per night for a preferred room at POP which included the parking fee.

Yeah, I know I shouldn't compare a value to a deluxe, but for families struggling, it boils down to room rate vs. room rate these days.

I like all the world class Orlando theme parks. The variety is wonderful. My very favorite park though isn't Disney or Universal. It's Seaworld.
