but your spouse doesn't think about it and look over the menu when you get there and say "so why are we eating here and what is good"
Or I know what I'm ordering and then they have a special and you are torn?:rotfl:

DH does not make selections ahead of time but he is very quick to decide what he want. On the other hand, I have made a tentative selection but when I get there and actually see the choices, I can't decide.

While we may have some pre-conceptions when we go into a restaurant, we never decide until we are actually looking over the menu and have heard any specials. We don't deliberate for long though.

Its kind of an un-written rule (which we sometimes break) that we don't both order the same thing so that we can both taste the others selection.

I know what I am going to eat before I even get on the plane, I love Disney and I love to eat so this trip is always a great time for me :santa:

Well, if you made the reservation, I'm assuming you know your spouse likes at least one thing on the menu. With my husband, I go for two things he can eat. Then, and only then, will I make the reservation for a table service meal.

I have changed my mind on what I want and it's always turned out good. I only went to the Rose and Crown once because I knew my husband would like the fish and chips and also the bangers and mash. I wasn't too thrilled but was going with the shephard's pie but then the burger caught my eye. Loved the burger and can't wait to go back again just for that.

I seek restaurant interest from DH (and D adult S when he came with us) in advance. Then I print all menus and we look over them together. We decide what interests us, and then I plan which park, which day and begin to look at booking ADR's. We narrow down to exactly where we would like to eat based on the menus (There are always more than we can fit it). This way, everyone's desires are addressed.
I usually know what I will order, but I know that menus change and I don't want my heart set on one thing, only to find it is not on the menu on our visit.
DH, on the other hand, only decides on what he would like after we look at the menus after being seated.

thanks, are you getting ready to make your restaurant selection soon?

that's funny b/c my husband and I never try to order the same...I want to try his and in case one meal is bad we can share:rotfl: or in case I end up not liking my meal

It's less than a month and I look at allears daily to see the menu and plot my meals...my husband just  and says I don't even know what he'll be in the mood so how can he think what he wants...

When I made ADR's, I made sure there is something our 5 yr old would like, then make sure there is one thing for my husband but he is easy to please...He is not into Disney so he says whatever makes me happy. Then I do make ADR's like Ohana for dinner and he says he rather not go there and try to find another place I said the Wave and he said that good.

That's sweet that you guys look over together....my husband says whatever will make you happy I'll go except for a few restaurants.

My DBF is VERY picky. I blame his mother. :rotfl2:

So I always make sure there is one of three things on the menu.

1. Pasta and meat sauce
2. Hamburger
3. Steak (preferably a filet, but a new york strip will suffice)

So, I usually know what he will order...I usually have an idea of what I'll order, but with most restaurants the menus I see online (from multiple sources) are rarely 100% correct.

I have dreams about the mushroom filet with risotto at Le Cellier...that is the only thing I know I want!:)

I do look over the menus a number of times before deciding on restaurants for ADR's, but I rarely decide what to eat ahead of time. I love to hear the specials and ask the waiter for recommendations before ordering. Plus, I would be afraid to have my heart set on something only to find that they no longer offer it.

I drool over the menus for months before we arrive :rotfl: I can pretty much predict what DH will want as well but sometimes he surprises me ;)

DH and I both go over all the menus at WDW and choose what place we would like to go and what we would like to order.
So we basically know 190 days out from our vacation where we will eat and what we will have.

I always look at the menues and know what I want before I leave for the trip. BUT it never fails that when I really really want something, the menu I looked at is outdated and they have replaced the dish I was looking to get. Im going to try my hardest not to look at any menues for my next trip. We'll see how that goes!

I had an idea of what I wanted and what DH and the kids would like best at each place we dined. We ran into a couple of places that didn't have what I expected to eat so that threw me for a bit of a loop at first but I quickly found something else.

I look over the menus regularly and ask DF is theres anything on them that he'd like to eat - put a group of restaurants together he'd like to eat at, I'd like to eat at and then choose from there :goodvibes
