How many of you have brought an infant to WDW? What age?

I dont' know why it's not saving my edit, but anyway...
ETA: We went again when Son was about 20 months old, and I can tell you that taking a non-mobile infant was infintely easier than taking a toddler who liked to run around and get into everything. Go sooner rather than later. LOL.

Hello,

We are planning a big family trip next year. :jumping1:

DH and I are adopting so we may or may not have a child for the trip. My SIL is pregnant now and will definitely have a 6 month old if we go in May like we want to right now. We fully realize that this trip is for the adults, not the babies. So I am not looking for how the babies 'enjoyed' it. Just how much fun the adults had when they were also caring for an infant. My MIL and FIL have offered to watch the baby(ies) for some of the time because they aren't big into the parks, but I don't want them to have to.

Just wondering how many people bring babies under 1 year and how it went.

Thanks in advance!
We brought out 8 month old and we had a great time :) It was a trip for us, as well as the first trip for my nephews (who were 3 and 6 at the time). We had 9 people total..3 kids, 6 adults. So there were plenty of people to watch DD while others went on rides, and then did Rider Swap so those who waited with her could then ride. This was before FP+, so I can't speak to that aspect of traveling with a large group, but our trip really was a great deal of fun.

It was a little stressful for me at times as I was exclusively pumping for DD (she couldn't nurse). I was worried about my supply and the first few days definitely didn't drink as much water as I should have. Even if not nursing, make sure everyone stays hydrated!! But still, having all of those adults around really helped.

Have a great time on your trip!

My BIL and SIL brought their 7 month old on our 2012 trip. They spent a lot of time in the Baby Care Centers. Disclaimer: SIL was nursing, and was not comfortable doing so in public, so every time DN needed feeding or a diaper change they would find a Baby Care Center. When she was awake, DN did enjoy the Winnie the Pooh ride and the monorail. I don't remember her riding or being awake for much else.

My youngest was 8 months old on our first trip - he was easy and it is still to this day one of our favorites. Would do it again without a second thought! Alas - no baby to take :(

Brought our son at 18 months and our daughter at 7 months. Much easier with a not yet walking little...would do it again in a heartbeat.

Took ours last Nov. We had a 3 year old and 12 month old. It was wonderful. We loved it so much we are returning this Nov. My DH was completely against it until he experienced it. Disney is made for families. You will do wonderful and have a blast!

I took my youngest for ten days when she was 6 weeks old. It was her sisters 5th birthday. We have gone back most years since then, twice some years. On each of those subsequent trips, I have wished she would behave as well as the first. As someone said earlier in the thread going to Disney with an infant is kind of like carrying a backpack that needs to be fed and changed, especially if you wear your infant like I did. Each of those trips was special in its own way. Please don't wait until your kids are "Old enough to enjoy it" you will enjoy it. In fact, you will treasure the memories and the pictures forever.

We took our oldest at 7 months and youngest at 4 months. 4 months was easy-peasy, since she was still exclusively breastfeeding. I put her in the carrier most of the time. When the oldest was 7 months old, we had just started giving her food, so making sure that I had something to give her (I was slightly obsessed with only giving her "real" food--so no canned baby food) and a place to feed her and a way to keep in cool. But otherwise, she was great and loved all the colors and meeting the characters.

DS was just at one year, DD was 6 years old. I wish we hadn't waited to take her!
We took midday breaks every day, everything went well. DS took his first steps at the GF bus stop. Such good memories. :)

If you see my avatar that's my son when we took him for his 1st birthday, we had alot of fun. Plus under 3 and they are free. Just take things really slow, when he took his nap in the stroller we played the that card game SORCERERS OF THE MAGIC KINGDOM that takes you around the park.

Took my youngest to DL at 3 weeks. She slept. She went to WDW at 15 months (which included a cross country flight and change of planes both ways) she did wonderfully. Did I mention she was cloth diapered? Just find cool spots. Take a portable stroller fan! Bring a washcloth and bag to put it in and when it gets really hot get some ice water to dip the washcloth in to cool the babies off. And DO NOT forget the power of baby swaps! Even if someone will stay off and watch babies and doesn't want to do ride get those baby swaps!

I took my first at 18 months and I was 6 months pregnant. Then planned on taken my 2nd also at 18 months just finished paying off the trip and found out I was pregnant with my third. So she turned 3 months old while visiting Disney. WE took lots of breaks and because they all still napped we just went back at lunch time and relaxed did the pool and after dinner went back later in the evening until they were tired.

We're taking our baby in December. She'll be 10 months. We took older daughter when she was 18 months. She loved it. Took naps in the park. It was fun to see her reaction to everything. And she loved the parades!

I have friends who have brought their babies at 4-5 months. We brought lo at 13 months, going back this month he will be 19 months and next trip he will be almost 2.

I can't speak about younger but 12/13 months was amazing. He was just walking so he could enjoy the pool and play areas but not to the point where all he wanted to do is run yet. He was eating solid food and ate free and buffets or shared from us. He was observant enough that he loved looking around and meeting characters. I will say if the baby is under 12 months you will require many breaks to stay cool and keep the baby napped and hydrated, but if you don't mind not going commando it is great.

I would also say it depends on the baby which is a cop out but very true...

We went with a 4 month old. She was really easy in the parks! I had her in my carrier most of the time for the rides and shows. She didn't sleep at night and only nursed, refusing bottles, so I wanted to die but it was the same at home so better to be in Disney!

We were a bunch of young adult siblings and the Inlaws were focused on my 2.5 year old having a blast. They also took care of them while we rode rides, had drinks, etc.

You'll also have the hands for big rides and evening entertainment once the baby is asleep at night, so I think it'll be easy!
