How many of you get an email from the airline when your flights have been changed?

I was told by Delta that they took my email so they can let me know when flights have been changed etc...ummmmm NOPE!!! 5 changes, no emails. I even called a few times to make sure they had the right address...they do. I had them send me a copy of the new itenirary each time...it comes right through so they have it correct. I am just curious if anyone else gets a notice and if they do what airline?

I booked Delta and Airtran a couple months ago for a roundtrip to Atlanta and both airlines e-mailed me itinerary changes. But I did book on their websites. While it shouldn't matter, maybe somehow schedule changes are e-mailed if you book online on their websites but not if you booked over the phone. I have received schedule changes in the past from Northwest and possibly Continental.

It has been my experience that they do not notify you of changes until you are within the last few weeks before travel. I have had Delta change my flights so many times that I sometimes feel like I know all the CS reps by name!!! I like to check my flights at least once a week up until 2 months before travel and then start checking every few days. I have found that Delta loves to change their flights on Sat night/Sunday morning....that's when most of my changes happened. Only once have I gotten an email notification about a change, and that was about 8 days before departure...a flight number change.

Nope, they pretty much leave it up to us, the consumer, to do all the work of checking, and rechecking our flights. With Delta, if you go into your itinerary, you can check on the seats to see if they have changed. It's usually a dead giveaway if anything on the main itinerary has changed.

I have had SWA both E-mail and call me with a 10 min change in flights. The flight number was changed and it went from 7:50 to 7:40 .It was after Katrina and they were making many changes.

All the airlines we have used in the past have always notified us when there was a change even of the flight numbers.......well this is a five hour difference to get home.......my husband is not pleased....will call Delta later

NWA has ALWAYS emailed me when the change has happened, even if it's many months in advance. One good thing about them. They seem to have their email system working the way customers expect it to.

Delta has never emailed me, but I have booked online both times I have booked with them. I only knew about changes from the DIS and checking on my own.

Airtran changed once and didn't email me until 3 days before my flight.

I have been checking once a week. I read a post here about Delta this morning and checked again, I had checked on Thurs and got all our seats arranged. I just don't understand how they cannot email people. There are no seats left on one of our flights. I can't beleive that everyone else booked seats and I was the only one who didnt know?!?!?!?! I am thinking perhaps there is a glitch in the seating program on the site. I will wait a few days nad call DELTA again.

Our flights on Delta have changed 5 times, and I did not get an email regarding them, I have been checking pretty much every day and when I notice the change I call for new seat assignments.

One of my flights with Jet Blue has changed by 5 minutes, they emailed me and called also.

I have heard great things about Jet Blue. I think next trip we will fly Jet Blue. and to top it all off I am pretty sure they fly direct from our airport!!

2 different times when we used them and there was a change not only did we recive a email we also got a phone call from them.We have used West Jet many times and I am very pleased with their service. :thumbsup2

I am still waiting to get an e-mail from Delta, after 4 flight changes! I've learned that checking online is the only way to deal with them. We're flying down to MCO this Tuesday at 7am; think there'll be any more changes? :rotfl:
As another DISer wrote, any time I've used SWA, if there've been changes, not only do I get e-mails, but they call, too. (Although SWA doesn't seem to alter their flights as much as Delta does.)
I use Delta only if there's a super-duper unbeatable airfare ($49 or less, each way). For that price, I'll handle some stress; otherwise, it's SWA all the way! :thumbsup2

Got a phone call and an email on Friday for a 5 min change in schedule

We are flying JetBlue for the first time this December. We received an e-mail 2 weeks ago notifying us that our flight to MCO was moved up from 8:00am to 7:25am. Yeah! We get to WDW even earlier! Even if it is only 35 minutes!

Actually, I had found out a few days earlier because I frequently re-check to see if the price has gone down, and I noticed the earlier flight time.
