How many of you are adding on due to the current incentive??

Incentive points are great! We were one of the lucky ones at the end of Aug who got DOUBLE incentive points....its been fun planning with 640 point...320 DIP....'07 UY and '08 UY But I want more!!!!!!! lol..Totally got spoiled with that extra 320~

I am seriously considering an add-on. I can't decide between SSR and AKV. My home resort is SSR. I will probably add 110pts. Anyone know if I buy 200 points could I split it into 3 contacts (100, 60, 40)

According to my Guide, you could do the split and get the per point incentive ($10 off SSR / $8 off AKV.)
However, none of these individual add-on contracts would qualify for the developer points incentive, because the minimum on that is 110 per add-on contract.

We have 250 points now. (200 VWL and 50 SSR.. Both Oct UY). But we'd like to do the cruise more than once... bring more family.. etc etc...

This incentive is like having just one more little tiny dinner mint on top of being STUFFED from a big dinner. I had been thinking if we added 55 or 68 at AKV we'd be good to go every other year. Hate to miss an incentive, but 110 minimum is twice as many as what I was budgeting for......And then there's always Ko'Olina down the road for 2011...... Want to add on BAD but probably won't go for the incentive.....I'll probably still just be talking about it for another year! The dumb thing for us is that we're already out of points (don't want to start borrowing yet) and we already have 2 cash discount ressies booked for 2008! If we bought at least 55 points we could cover one of these ressies!

We also added on back in August when they were giving double developer points, which was a better deal. We added on 100 and they gave us 200 developer points. I know someone who added 200 and got 400 developer points! Y'all need to read the DIS more often! That's where I found out about the double points and we made the decision right then and there.

We also did the double developer points this past August and it was a great deal. However, we actually like this better. We are only paying $94 per SSR point instead of $104 per point. The developer points are not double but they are still very good. The added bonus of the $500 reward dollars is great and since we are a Dec. UY we will still get 06 points. With our double points from August we are taking an extra vacation (cruise) that seems "free" even though we paid full retail at $104 per point.

We are still planning to do a 200 point add-on with this incentive but have waffled a little bit b/c we will have bought a total of 550 points in less than 6 months!

We also found out about both incentives here on the DIS. I might better stay off the boards for awhile or I might end up with 1000 points!!

Not sure that's right, sznk. We first had a 200 point contract, and then I read on disboards about splitting into two contracts. We went with 2 100 point contracts, got the 270 developers points, use the Disney Rewards card, 200 December 2006 points.

Yes you do get the six months. Called Visa that is what I was told.

I really want to take advantage of this promo. I've decided to sell one of my existing contracts and would like to use the proceeds to pay off the add-on. So now I'm just trying to decide whether or not to go through with it since I really don't know when or if the other contract will sell.

For those of you that have added on @ AKV...do you still get '07 pts for UY earlier than December? Also, I can't remember -- were there any circumstances where someone got '06 pts? I really want AKV but the extra $2 off per point along with '06 pts. for a December UY make SSR hard to pass up. Would I be able to have the best of both worlds and get 100 pts each @ AKV and SSR and still qualify for all the incentives? I know people have been successful splitting pts into separate contracts...but what about separate resorts?

I think you should I believe if you have Dec. UY then you get 06 points and 07
points so you really would make out if you have a Dec. UY. That is what my parents were told when they called to inquire and they have a Dec. UY!!!!!!!

We were told by our guide that you could not buy 100 at 2 different resorts and then combine them to equal the 200. Some folks have been able to split the 200 into 2 -100 contracts at the same and still get the incentives.

We struggled with our last add-on as to the choice between SSR and AKV. We LOVE AKV but were able to get our 06 points by choosing SSR since AKV did not exist in 2006. We decided to go with the best deal and for us that meant SSR. We have now stayed at AKV and again considered doing a new add-on for AKV but again we have decided to do SSR if we indeed go thru with it. We just cant pass up the 06 points. Plus, we were able to secure an AKV grand villa at the 7 month window which eliminated our need to have the 11 month priority for that upcoming vacation.

OK - with that said, I am shoving you right off the fence!!

It would be great if they give incentives for split contracts. Offers shouldn't be on a case-by-case basis. Incentives should be equal for all.
My Guide seems very informed, but I plan to question him again to be sure his info is accurate. I can't help but wonder - if he's wrong on this, what else is he wrong about?

Not yet...I'm still weighing my options as my heart and my head are telling me two different things! The extra '06 pts. @ SSR would be great, but I've never really been too keen about adding on there as I already have quite a few points @ OKW (which to me is very similar to SSR as both resorts are large enough that there's usually no problem with availability). Because of this I really should buy AKV as I want the home resort advantage there. But, of course, the incentives aren't as great. I think I'm just going to wait another week or so and decide one way or another. Plus, with Christmas right around the corner I don't know if I want to drop down such a huge chunk of change (especially since I have no idea whether or not I'll be able to sell one of my existing contracts). Timing is everything for me right now!!!
