We are debating an add-on of 160 or 200 at SSR with the current incentives. We want the points anyway but the incentives may be reason enough to go ahead and add. We already have 340 points with 290 at SSR and 50 at HHI. We are a Dec. UY so the current deal seems almost too good to pass up. Our only hesitation is having dues of over $2,000 per year. Decisions, Decisions.....![]()
Oh the Dec. use year is the best deal out there.......
I hear you we have four hundred points now and DH wants two hundred more I think one sixt is good but the developer points too are greats!!!!!!!!
My DH also wants to be at 600 points. He met a gentleman at AKV last week who was in the "600 hundred" club as he called it and DH now has it stuck in his head that he "needs" 600 points.
The money between 160 and 200 is not a huge difference. DH says get the 200 points and then I hesitate and think that 160 is enough. Are there really EVER enough points?!
Those developer points would be a really nice thing to have except that I am not sure when we would use them. We have 4 upcoming trips and the points have to be used in the next 12 months. I have never tried renting out points but I guess that we could do that with the 270 developer points if we cant fit in another trip. Too bad that things like work and school get in the way of our vacationing!!![]()

The current incentive cause a case of the Add-on-Ittis!
We were planning on an add-on and just waiting for the right time. We have 150 Mar. UY SSR points, and 270 TOTAL would have been perfect in our opinion... but the incentive spurred us on to an add-on of 160 pts. This will give us a total of 310, which is OK.
We added on 160 Dec. 2006 UY pts, with the 160 bonus as well, giving us LOTS of points to plan and travel over the next year or so!
I believe the incentives are...
Buy 110 and get 100 Developer Points...
Buy 160 and get 160 Developer Points...
Buy 200 and get 270 Developer Points...
And of course you get the $500 Disney Dollars if you buy a minimum of 160 points and charge the downpayment to you Disney Visa.
I think it is also ten dollars off a point at SSR and eight at AKV!!!!!!!!!
?anyone know?Anyone know if I buy 200 points could I split it into 3 contacts (100, 60, 40)
Just to let you know we have done the same thing. Now have 320 points which should give them time to enjoy their grandchilds. I could still be going at 89 yrs. if they add assisted living somewhere. The addition of our first grandson was partly the reason for our current add-on. It also helped that DVC had our current use year available at OKW that had the 15 year extension. I know, there pros and cons on doing the extension (which I did on the rest of our contracts), and I know I won't be around at the end (or maybe, I'll only be 107 in 2057). I also did it to even off the split between my two kids when they get it. Orig contract is 230, add on of 60 a few years later and 170 now. Call me crazy, but we love going there and would hate to see our kids, grandkids and maybe great grandkids, not be able to afford to go in the future.
