luckywife That's great news about your DS! Told you so!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

steveanddonna was the lounge a zoo in the early morning? I'm going at such a busy time and was hoping  that the lounge would be my small sane spot in all the maddness that is the holiday season...

Oh well. I can't control other people. What I can control is how I react. It is very rare for a bad situation to rattle me to the point where I allow someone else to ruin my usual happy disposition...:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Sounds like that's what you did too!!!:wave2:

lovesdumbo--thanks! I hadn't seen those yet, I will definitely have to order some. My daughter is such a houdini, she can yank a placemat faster than you can blink!
steveanddonna- I am glad to hear you enjoyed the extended evening hours. I was hoping they would continue them into June, but they announced a whole bunch of eride nights during our stay, so I am guessing they will not continue offering extended evening hours. Did they give out wristbands to resort guests or what, how did they police it?

luckywife - That is awsome about your son :jumping1:

Too bad about the rude lounge behavior. Just have to keep a goog attitude I suppose (I'll model myself after the CMs)

more on passporter - couple more things about the passporter. It has pages with pockets to store things in, like your airline tickets, receipts, etc. These pockets also have places to fill in information, like your flight numbers and times, resort requests, room numbers, and little reminders such as call and book transportation from airport.

Then on the back of the pocket/pages you can keep a diary of you trip. Things like, first impression of your room, weather when you arrived, what you did today, which characters your saw, etc. So if you do this, you end up with a detailed trip report and souvenir.

Well gotta go make those final decisions about which PSs to request. So much to do, so little time, so much fun! :Pinkbounc

big wave to all the lizards! :thewave: :thewave:

I just thought I'd mention, DD and I were at the Poly CL and AKL CL until the day before Easter, and though there were a lot of people in the lounge, there was no problem with rudeness or food hoarding. Truly, we did not see one instance of this behavior, and this is one of the busiest times of the year. I think steveanddonna is right, they just hit a bad week. And, as previously stated, the food offerings were replenished very quickly, and Chef Dick's fruit and vegetable critters are soooo cute! We could watch him carve these all day!;)

goodferry - LOL! Your Houdini comment cracked me up! DH and I were in the store the other day, and it seemed like "baby day," there were so many little ones. DH mentioned how the little fingers were so quick, picking up things their parents were completely unaware of!:teeth:

OH, I almost forgot, WELCOME, MOUSETEACHER! So glad you joined our little party! I've read many of your posts over on the S/D thread!

Hi Mouseteacher! I saved you a chair!

Thank you, everyone, for giving your opinions of Poly's CL. AKL's was almost always nice and calm! There were a few rude people, but nothing insane. I always enjoyed walking (from the far far reaches of the hotel! :)) over there and just chatting with other people in what seemed like a quiet oasis! (must be the theming, eh?) The one thing I do like about obviously rude behavior is that it is a great time to say "See what that looks like? I know you don't want to be seen in that light!"
I have heard so much about Chef Dick that I am really looking forward to meeting him and viewing his creations!

LuvsDumbo>> I wonder how many of the people hearing that comment were hoping mom would say "Do it yourself!" :teeth: I am so sorry about your massage! I hope you get to feeling yourself again, soon!

Big wave to everyone! I need to pack myself in the first suitcase leaving for the world! I need my happy place!

Debbie...It is nice to initiate nice conversations with others in the CL. It's amazing where everyone comes from, what they do, where they've been, how many kids, etc.....

Sorta like our Lizard Lounge, no?;)

We're outta here!

Dh went for a swim and then we are taking off. Early!::yes::

Have a great day everyone.

luckywife, Great news!:hyper:

 :D :sunny:

You know, now I'm getting confused about the Breathless.
Last time we did the Illuminations cruise, last August, the Breathless was pulled out beyond the other boats.

Bambi, the only reason I asked was because it mentions sitting under the bridge on Deb Will's site... if it's pulled beyond the pontoons, man, that would be amazing!! :hyper: It would make sense, since it's so low to the water. It's *such* a beautiful boat!

BambiTamby - Thanks for the clippie.

I would love to learn how to create these! But it might make me goofy

Gotta get back to work

I know someone asked about the wishes fireworks cruise. we have done this particualr cruise twice. My review would be a mixed bag...
Once we had a Birthday Cruise with a very nice young man, Chris he was great very sweet. You cruise around a little before the show and moor in front of the castle. We had a great view of wishes and my twins blew out thier (FAKE) candles as real ones are not allowed. Just as the grand finale came up. We then were turned a little to the left and were ablr to watch the Electric water parade. Every time we have taken the MK fireworks cruise we have seen it perfectly. My kids actually like that better than the fireworks themselves.
This past December we took the Wishes cruise from the POLY. Our driver this time was Ralph. This was a mixed bag. I had arranged a first timer trip for a Disney hater friend and his children. And really talked up the cruise and the Water parade. Well Ralph was a little grouchey. We had 3 3 year olds, 2 6 year olds, and one 9. One of the 3,s was fussing over his lifejacket. And was trying to wrestle out of it. (While on my lap) Their was a bit of persuaion going on to keep the jacket on. And Ralph got a little nasty. You will not move if he takes that off. We will sit here till he understands, very gruff. I was a little taken aback. This was our 4th fireworks cruise. The children always are fine. Lets face it sometimes 3 yr olds can be fickle. There were a few more things that made me roll my eyes. Then he missed the water pagent. Said we were in the wrong position. And that I was mistaken that we do not see the water parade.
I would do it again but I will take it from the CR from now on.

BT you are so right! DH & I always tell our friends that one of the best things about Disney is all the interaction with CMs & other guests. I'm the extrovert, DH is the quiet one, but even he gets into it by day 2. We have chatted with so many interesting & lovely people from all over. We always try to bring a little of that spirit back to the "real world" with us.

Forgot to include in my trip report the most romantic sight we've ever seen: A couple getting married under the arch outside of the wedding pavilion with Wishes fireworks in the background - Beautiful! Have to file that one away for future reference.

Looks like our next trip will be the first week of November, as we couldn't get Poly concierge during my birthday week. We'll follow that with a short trip probably the second week of December. I'm going to keep trying for that birthday week, so cross your fingers for us please!

Oh yes - Goodferry they did have the wristbands, just as they do for MVMCP & MNSSHP, or e-ride nights. They were actually distributing them at the turnstiles as well as at a few locations around the parks, I think it was 2 hours before park closing. Some of the CMs were checking resort ids, but some were not. The crowds were very light compared to the daytime, though. we pretty much walked right on to every attraction, incl. Buzz & Space Mountain which had 40-60 min. waits during the day.

BambiTamby - who would be best to send my room location request to for AKL concierge:

1) CRO
2) concierge
3) room assigner a few days before the trip?

THANKS

You guys are getting me so excited about our upcoming trip. I cannot wait to try the Poly concierge. We are about 100 days out, should I wait for the IPO to contact me, or should I contact them?

Please tell more about the Grand Cruise 1, we may be interested in this.

Thanks!::MinnieMo

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted much, but I read this thread nearly everyday. I have learned so much from all you "Lounge Lizards".

This is our first trip to WDW, so I really wasn't sure where to stay. As I read and researched, I settled on BC. Our boys are 7 and 11 and I thought they would love SAB. My DH also insisted that he would not sleep in a double bed!

When I made our reservations, BC was not available so I booked YC. A few days later (partly your fault) I upgraded to CL! I think I have forgotten to let DH know that part.

Anyway to my question. Should I try to switch to BC or keep YC? Now that I hear they are doing renovations at YC I am thinking, will this be bad or good? Maybe there will be fewer guests staying CL and we will receive better service and lower crowds in the lounge? On the other hand is there going to be alot of noise and mess? The CM told me to call back five days before we leave to check for cancellations at BC.

Please help, I am nervous enough without having to make this decision and change reservations. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks

Yes, I read the same thing on her site, also.
That DOES make it confusing!

Either way, it is a beautiful boat and the fireworks cruises are a nice way to view Illuminations and Wishes. :boat:

floridafam....you're already gone, but GODSPEED to your DH!

GoofyJoofy...I got Paintshop Pro several years ago and taught myself. It's the artist in moi! ;)
Actually I love doing these, as it's a great stress reducer...
sorta like DISing!::yes::

twinmomplus2new...Yes, sometimes it is a mixed bag with some of these captains. We had a monorail driver one night that acted like him! Here we felt so lucky to get the front and we get ol' Grumpy in the flesh!
Needless to say, I just sweetly chatted with him the whole way and asked him questions about his day, etc....
you know, I could swear I got a little bit of a smile by the time we got off!
(Probably because he was glad the talking was going to stop!)LOL!

steveanddonna...actually DONNA...;) Your b-day wouldn't be around the 20-ish, would it?
just keep calling, calling, calling.....you never know what magic is in store for you!princess: :wizard:

and PRaffen....I always let my requests be known when I make my reservation with CRO, whenever I confirm my reservation with CRO, whenever I make a payment to CRO...
and I always let Sue and Andrea (at AKL IPO)know my requests also.
I've never faxed a request, so I can't help you on number 3, but I've always gotten my requests.....even for a 11th floor MK view, odd-numbered room at the CR. Just be very sweet whenever you speak to these CMs, I know they make "notes" about us!:magnify:

WOW! More LOUNGE LIZARDS!!!!

Welcome to the Lizard Lounge, Tammy and sr6888!!!!:bounce: :bounce:

Tammy...you need to call or email your requests now for the Grand 1. If you don't have the Poly IPO email and phone number, we'll post it for you. I know it's all over this thread, but sometimes it's hard to weed thru all the pages!LOL!

Great info HERE at Deb Will's site.

This will be our first Grand 1 experience, so don't have any other insight to offer, but I do know that ducklite has done this cruise and if you search this site, you'll find these posts about the G1.

here's some of her Grand 1 pictures.

sr6888...We realy love both of those CLs, so can't really go wrong on either. We were originally reserved for YC CL, and they overbooked the rooms for Spring Break and we were moved over to the BC CL. I was originally trying to get the BC CL, too! LOL!
So, you never know, but they are both very familiar in food offerings, just a little different in CL layout and decor.

Here are my BC CL pics and YC CL pictures!

You're invited to sit down in one of our comfy lounge chairs and help yourselves to today's offerings....:drinking1

Don't give away all of my Guinness--I don't mind sharing, but save some for me especially since R&C Pub is closed!

 :rotfl:

sr6888: I ditto BTs thoughts--like them both--choose your preferred decor and go with it--most likely you won't notice the construction. We stayed at BC when the villas were under construction and BC was having a rehab--other than the visual out the front--didn't notice a thing! Go with your gut and enjoy your stay!

I know it's been a while since I've posted.

I hope Floridafam is well on her way to a great time.

All this talk about the Poly just makes me want to stay there even more!!! I really don't know how you guys stand it. I think I'll have to go eat at O'Hanas just to get a peek. I actually met a FL resident last night. She is the grandmother of one of my son's soccer team mates. I'm thinking of going to live with her part-time since she lives only 10 minutes from Disney. Imagine the deals I could get - LOL!

Is the Breathless a Pontoon boat for Illuminations or a Yacht like Grand1?

Welcome to all the new lizards! You guys make yourselves at home here in the lounge. We have the most gracious hosts & hostesses here. :teeth:

BTW, who's next to 'ship out'?

(((((WAVING))))) - Hi, lounge lizards!

I see a lot of cool clip art going around. BT - You are gifted in more ways than one.
