*waving* I am home from work! Dinner not started, but I do have priorities! LOL

My favorite location was when I was on the fourth floor. There were domes right above me so I know there are suites up there! 4565 and 4566 were my first two rooms during my first two trips. Both two queens, but 4566 was by far the best. It was on the end, had a longer balcony, an extra dresser, and a hallway before you got to the room! *but still behind your locked door!* If I am ever reg savannah view again I will ask for that room or one like it! These were both in smoking.

Now here is the kicker; the rooms above those are NON smoking! AKL has smoking on some wings on some floors, but further out on other floors. Go figure!

It is a fantastic view of the Uzima savannah, and it feels like it is ALL yours! We were further down on the fifth floor deluxe 4582? I can't remember, for our last trip. That was fine, but it really wasn't as good, I thought, as the reg savannah view 4566

VAgal>> GO on the safari! Don't even think about it! You guys will have a riot together!

K&a&c's mom>> I will be there July 20th -26.. right now at the DOlphin, but part of that could change to a secret concierge trip all the way to budget BUDGET! Still working a few numbers around. Anyway to change your dates? I'd love to meet you! The first part of my trip is the top secret sorority meet, though! *all you swan/dolphin lovers come out of the closet and join us!*

Dinner must be started! Happy planning everyone!

and remember...

Keep Calling!
Calling!
Calling!

Hello All,
I've been lurking and reading all your wonderful posts for a while and now that I was able to confirm my TA rate for Poly LVC(we will be staying there for the first time!!)I now feel as though I can join all you Lounge Lizards!
It is a special trip for both my Mom and my wonderful little foster baby..And I hope that I made a good choice with the Poly.

steveanddonna-Hope to see you there-I know we are going to be there the same time..By the way my pm's and subscribed threads are not working with AOL either.
Although I was able to receive an e-mail from the IPO today. So at least that is working!;)
Kerri

*clapping* Ohhh, Debbie, that would be so great!!:Pinkbounc I'll try to move our dates, I just picked at random, really, as DD's birthday is July 27, and DS's wedding is July 18. Let me go see what I can do!!

HEck! I even get Christmas cards from them every year!
Don't you love it, BT ? We knew we were official lounge lizards when we started noticing whose signatures were or weren't on the Christmas & thank you cards! "oh, look, Chef Dick is still there." "Gee, I wonder what happened to Arnaud?"
Captainconcierge has been working long, long days - busy time for productions in Chicago. He's limiting his board visits to his other favorite topic - golf. I'll make sure he visits this thread just to see your adorable graphic! :D By the time we get to WDW he will really need this vacation.
goodferry - never had dinner, but we've eaten lunch at CP and I think the choices are very similar. It was quite good - some really unusual salads and good grilled meats. I think it would be a beautiful place to kick back at the end of a day at MK.
other toddler stuff... forgot about the playground next to Norway in my last post. We were floored when we overheard some other guests in March complaining that "there's nothing at Epcot for kids." Puh-leeze!
KerriL welcome to the thread! This is definitely the place for concierge answers! Yes, I'm sure we'll run into you (with Mom & foster daughter, right?) in the Poly lounge. DH & I are pretty Mutt & Jeff - 6'2" for DH, 5'1" for me so we stand out. Of course, we'll have our green mickeyheads somewhere as well.
Like #1hockeymom, I have to start dinner - I should know better than to come here first!

WHAT EXCITING NEWS FOR YOU ABOUT THE CALI DISNEY CRUISE...Good for you!!!
YES...and DH sits right next to DD as they both color and paste, stamp and create! The masks are true works of ART! ::yes:: I too, enjoy the festivities. Remember, everyone is a CHILD at Heart...at DISNEY! Enjoy your fun at the tables this summer. :teeth:

*Still so excited about the CRUISE prospects for this spring. :hyper: Finally...they're coming HOME! (* Where the MAGIC began...Anaheim & DL. ;) )

lovesdumbo~You're welcome! I'm glad you feel the same...and enjoy the time shared with family during your trips. Truly, there is more to these vacations than simply "meets the eye" (as I have the most wonderful recollections of our family trips to DL with all my sibs!). :D

*I LOVE your 1/2/3 reasoning behind your DH's "silence"...I'm pulling for #3~! :goodvibes You certainly have everything (planning) moving in the right direction. I have heard wonderful things about happy limo service, as well as some others. Be sure to check Mary's site (www.mousesavers.com) for some other valuable info and coupons for LIMO service from MCO.

You mentioned one thing about the POLY, which I find very comforting too...the torches and music at night (piped along the paths). I also feel pretty comfy along the EPCOT path around the lake (BC/YC/BW & S/D). In fact, I have always felt pretty secure at most all the on-property deluxe resorts! I believe DISNEY takes extra measures to insure a guests "comfort" while walking after dark. ::yes::

k&a&c'smom~GREAT NEWS!! I'm traveling for one day in late July (From Disney's Vero Beach resort) to the Swan/Dolphin to meet with the "Sisters" for a day! Hopefully you could join us?

#1hockeymom~:wave2: I love the description of your AKL room! I want the same view when we stay. Did you see lots of animals? Is the evening Safari better than the early am? (I'm more of a night person...remember? LOL). I'm a non-smoker...did you smell any lingering smoke odor in the room? Have fun cooking dinner. I'm ordering dinner chow again, from Chili's take-out!

Hello Lounge Lizards!!

I haven't posted in a while (needed a new keyboard).

I am down to double digits. I am getting antsy:yo-yo: . This will be our first trip ever to WDW. I have purchased a Passporter, the Unofficial guide and Birbaums. I also read these boards daily.

We will be celebrating my dd 5th birthday princess:.

I just want this trip to be magical for her. I have already been in contact with Melissa regarding our stay at the Poly.

I remember when I was 6yo, my mother took my db and I cross country on the train to California. DL was the highlight of our trip. Hearing "Its a small world after all" still gives me that warm feeling.

We will be there from 8/4 - 8/11. I plan to take it easy. We will also be traveling with our b/g twins. They will be celebrating their 2nd birthday this Friday (4/30).

I enjoy reading this thread. I find all the information helpful, especially the tips regarding the toddlers!!
:wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

Just set it... and forget it! OK, Chicken for later!

KerriL>> Welcome to the lounge! There are always plenty of drinks and snacks to be had, just pull up a chair and help yourself to great food and great conversation!

The view is the back of Uzima savannah, overlooking a mickey kinda shaped rock where fresh hay and browse is put. to the right, you can see the watering hole of Uzima savannah. To the left, the fence separating Uzima and Arusha savannahs, which is where the giraffes tend to line up in the morning to have their chats, and where you'll see the animal parade when the animals come back to the savannahs after their late morning/early afternoon check up! We always saw tons of animals, and in the early evening hours you'd see them sneak through the brush in groups, towards the watering hole. I have no idea why they didn't "sneak" during the day, but they did in the evening!

Our deluxe room was more on the Arusha savannah overlooking the Uzima savannah. The highlight was being able to more readily see Zebras and wildebeasts from our balcony. Remember, wherever you are, there are so many outlook spots! Don't forget the end stairwells on any of the wings, too! I know DS took MommaTink's DD on a tour of the different lookout areas and stairwells when we were chatting with them up on club level.

The fourth floor rooms you could smell smoke on the hallway upon entering the finger/wing. I doubt you'd smell anything above that area, as you couldn't even smell smoke in our room, just in the hallway.

Please note that these rooms are NOT close to the lobby, but are worth the walk! We never walked fast so it didn't seem that far, since we always stopped at all the windows to see what was out and about. Another plus is the fact it is very quiet when you are at the end of the trails. Less people walking by!

DS and I have done the morning safari twice (DH the last time), but I haven't been on the sunset safari at all. It sounds fantastic! We did eat at Jiko our last night, and it was delish! I had the filet w/mac and cheese, while DH had the monkfish. While my filet was fantastic, I have to say DH's monkfish was even better! The highlight of the meal was the appetizer sampler we ordered for the three of us. It wasn't on the menu, but recommended to us by our waiter. DS was on strict orders to order from the children's menu as he went over limit on his purchases that day. He did enjoy his cheese pizza and the sundae with white chocolate puzzle, dessert!

Steveanddonna>> The Viking ship is a must for our family! We always insist the kids run through it, even if one of them might be too old. Then I get DH up there, and take a half family portrait so he can honor his Viking heritage! We have some great pictures of "war" faces from that boat!

I can attest to three trips with happylimo w/o a hitch! We've been very happy with their services. Infact, they are programmed into my cell phone!

K&A&C'smom>> Oh, I forgot about the big wedding! I'd love to meet you, but you do what you need to do for that wedding! Maybe we can overlap at the end of our trip? I know I can sneak you into the ruckus at the sorority meet!

Kimberle>> I can't wait to hear about your 14th floor contemporary stay!

Ok, I shouldn't ask, but I am going to anyways. I have a rough idea of AKL concierge stay for July. What would the Poly GVC run? ballpark of course. I am really considering changing some of my end days to the Poly! *see, I am trying really hard to branch out!* My plane tickets are paid for, DS and I both have APs, and I have a ton of vouchers left. Really all I need is a room!
Also, does WL's concierge include full time people at a desk? I really liked having someone to ask quick questions to, or to change/rearrange PSs as we tended to do that daily. AKL's concierge staff was great about that!

Need to finish those side dishes! Have a wonderful night!
Debbie

Just popped back in. I have class on Mon. nights & I'm lucky that my MIL fixes dinner for all of us on those nights. Didn't I tell you that I absolutely love the woman! On the other hand, you can smack me for being so spoiled - LOL!

BT & I need some PD so we can get on that safari together :teeth:! I know it would be a blast, but I can't leave DS behind. He's a keeper you know ::yes::!? I still have my ressie for sunrise safari.

k&a&c'smom - Whooo hooo! I knew you couldn't resist another trip :rotfl:! It kept you up at night just thinking about it, didn't it - LOL!? Totally cool that it's so close, too. :hyper:

#1HockeyMom - Howdy! We saved you a seat in the lounge right next to your favorite drink...... BTW, I didn't request a specific room location at AKL, just savannah view since I really didn't know where I wanted to be - next to the lounge or a great view. I've decided I'd rather have the view. I don't mind taking a stroll to the lounge. Just call me room request challenged, darling , but what view did you request? I believe your DH smokes, right? Was your room smoking? Like DF, I was wondering if when you first entered into the room was the odor overwhelming or just light? I'm an ex-smoker and the strong stale smell or a room full of it can make me have a terrible headache :faint:. I know, there's nothing worse than ex-smoker.

WoodysRoundUp - I'm so jealous - 11 more days!

Hi, KerriL! Poly LV! I hope to see some pictures from you when you return!

Hi, Twinsmomplusone! I guess you are getting pretty excited. This tread just pumps you up more too, doesn't it? :teeth:

Steveanddonna, lovesdumbo, luckywife, ead79, DF - Big, warm HI to all you lizards! :flower3:

If I can't get back, you all have a restful night and peaceful dreams :cloud9:!

Just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone! Getting close to PLVC!! A little worried because we are WL lovers and this is the first time in a long time that we are doing a different resort and CL. I am sure it will be fine though!

For those that have dates confirmed, check out the link in my signature and see who's going when you are. :) It's really cool. (Of course, I am a bit partial as I made it. Heh!)

Cyas all later!

Fred

Debbie - You answered most of my question. We posted fairly close together! Looks like 5th floor has the best view. Are these smoking rooms, smoking optional or non smoking? So request Arusha savannah, right?

Howdy, Fred! :wave2: Your calendar is a done deal for me - LOL! I'm sure you'll be just fine at Poly and I have no doubt you'll be visting your beloved WL :teeth:. I hope your trip is FABULOUS!

I'll check you lizards later!

Uzima Savannah, first two rooms/ one room apart/ fourth floor. Hallway smelled of smoke, room didn't at all. Arusha/Uzima second room/fifth floor not in a finger but on the main LAST part of the trail. No smoke smell in the hallway, non in the room. I believe the fifth floor above 4565/4566 (first two rooms) is non smoking, and that is what I'd request for my perfect location! My guess is that one of the domes is a suite, with the other two being reg savannah rooms with a half dome.

Throwing major PD for that safari! I couldn't leave DS behind either. He'd of been fine with the arcade or the room, but he and I seem to love the place more than DH so it just didn't seem right! DS loved feeling like an expert during his second sunrise safari! DH/hunter in the UP, loved the lodge, but felt like it was a zoo. I obviously don't see it that way at all. To each his own, and I trained him well so he DID enjoy his stay!

Oh what a great MIL you have, VAgal! Hold onto her! I did five years of college (starting at 30)trying to get dinner on the table. It was during those years that I suddenly forgot how to cook! LOL

Fred-
Looks like we will be down around the same time. We are coming in on the morning of May 13. Looking forward to the Poly LVC!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
steveanddonna will be there also..Look out for the green Mickey heads:earsboy:
Kerri

I go away for a few days and everyone posts like crazy. Thanks again to everyone for my favorite thread. It is funny, sometimes I think about asking a question and I read the board to catch up with everyone and someone has already answered my question.

I did have to stop reading the stories at work. It is really hard to explain why you are getting weepy in a meeting about a software release.

sojo33 - LOL!! Maybe you're safe for a few days, the mood has lightened up again!!:sunny: We all had a good cry, now we're good to go!

Debbie - The biggest problem will be airfare. It's funny, everybody in MO says "I don't know why anybody would want to go to FL in the summer, the humidity...blah,blah,blah." Yet, SWA flights to Orlando from KC are packed!!:hyper: If I can get a flight sooner (haven't booked yet) maybe we can meet up at the beginning of my stay, end of yours?:teeth:

speaking of which...

DF - What day will you be in WDW? It would be great to see you, too! :hyper2:

Fred - You're gonna loooove Poly LV CL!!::yes:: The Poly is gorgeous, and nothing beats that beautiful view of the beach and castle, with the GF on one side and the CR on the other! And the lounge is great, beautiful view, floor to ceiling wrap-around glass, the food offerings are great and the cm's are very special! Don't worry, from now on, you'll have two favorites!!:teeth:

:sunny:

Oh, I almost forgot, who asked about limo service?! We've used Tiffany Town Car several times and like them very much. No problems, very easy!

Nitey-Nite!:wave2:

Well, you all are either an inspiration or a REALLY bad influence! We just went over DH's schedule for Sept-Nov so we can book the fall trip as soon as codes come out. We have never booked more than 60 days out before. We're hoping for a week right between our anniversary & my birthday - how perfect would that be??? DH is even willing to deal with limited golf course access in order for me to be there at b-day time. Is he a sweetie or what?
Another post mentioned no concierge availability in September. Was that at the Poly or somewhere else? Early Sept. or late? The whole month after Labor Day is usually so quiet, I'm surprised they are already booked.

I'm down to 234 days....

But I have counter envy for Majestic, steveanddonna and now Woody!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

My December whining buddy!!!! :earseek:

You go girl!! You and your Mom and the toddlers will be fine.....:sunny:

And then you can help me plan for December when I go with 2 toddlers....:hyper: :hyper:

In 33 more weekends.:wave2:
