steveanddonna - Ohhh, that was so sweet of you! You're right, of course, my kids do get a lot of love and affection, and as I listen to them all in the other room, playing video games together (DS's fiance, too, she is already a member of the family) I know they don't feel left out. Thank you for reminding me.

DF - hope you set plenty of places at the table, we'll be right over!!;)

Bambi - Way to go, girlfriend, like you, I don't know if we will be able to visit elsewhere next time! AKL is sooo great, it's hard to skip even one trip! DD and I are planning WL and BWI for next time, but we may not be able to resist!!:teeth:

Good night, everyone, sweet Mickey dreams!!;)

Hi guys!
Woody's Roundup- Our kids enjoyed Chef Mickeys a lot last trip, we are trying 'Ohana and Whispering Canyon this trip, never have. Are you traveling with little girls or little boys or both? How about Crystal Palace?
I think Star Wars weekends will have started when you get there at MGM, my son is going to love that!
Good night all.:wave2:

OK, Debbie....it's ALL your fault!
All this talk about smoothies......yadadadaada!
....as BT grabs a Zebra Dome that Debbie left out in the lounge!
Holy mackerel! You mean to tell me that they have Zebra Domes at the AKL CL like the ones they serve at Boma! :earseek: I have GOT to stay there now, LOL! :teeth: Those things are fantastic!

BT, try to take pictures of your suite at AKL. I can't wait to give that CL a try, and a 2BR suite sounds fabulous. ::yes::

goodferry,
'Ohana is one of my very favorite restaurants in all the World! It is typically a first night tradition for our family, and it's delicious. We like it so much that we actually had our rehearsal dinner there (thanks to DH's mom). The pineapple with caramel sauce for dipping that they serve for dessert is soooo good (a nice light dessert with great flavor). It's good that it's a light dessert since we usually stuff ourselves silly on the meal itself. :teeth:

Thanks for the tips!! DD is 1.5yrs. and DS is 2.5yrs. - one of each! In all the years, I've never eaten at Crystal Palace (at least I don't think so). What's it like? What have you heard about Ohana's?

DH like Star Wars but he won't be joining us on this trip! :( How old is your DS? :)

Have a great night! :wave2:

Holy mackerel! You mean to tell me that they have Zebra Domes at the AKL CL like the ones they serve at Boma!

EAD - they also sell them at Maras if you want a quick fix (or if you want to buy them and lovingly hand-carry them home for gifts!! LOLOL!)

Thanks MickeyMac! I have eaten at Mara before--I can't believe I missed the Zebra Domes. I think if I tried to take any home for gifts, they might end up being my gift to myself, LOL! :teeth:

WoodysRoundup--we actually have four kid:earseek: DS, 12, DS, 8, DD, 5, DD>1. The eight yo is the Star Wars fanatic, he is going to flip out when we get there.
Elisabeth wrote a little bit about 'Ohana, I understand they have a lot for kids there and the food is fantastic.
I tried to plan something special for each of the kids, Star Wars for ds8, dinner (and hopefully breakfast) with Cinderella for dd 5, dinner at the Crystal Palace for dd's birthday, and a Wishes Fireworks Cruise for ds 12. He saw the cruises mentioned on one of the travel channel specials and loved it.
All I know about Crystal Palace is that they have Pooh and friends and it is a buffet!

MickeyMac, with as often as you call CRO now, just keep checking on the YC Concierge. I bet it will open up between now and December. Also, did you play around with your dates to see if that helped?

Well, now ya know where mine went... Yum!

is awesome! We do it whether we're bringing kids or on a grown-ups only vacation. The setting is so lovely and the breakfast items are yummy. We've always had plenty of time with the characters, and all of our nieces/nephew know Pooh's little parade song by heart now. We're early risers, so we usually book a later PS for an MK early entry day, grab some fruit & a muffin in the lounge, go to he park really early, do a few attractions, have a late breakfast, then relax. I love being in MK early, anyways, so this is probably our favorite character meal. It won't be long before the nieces start begging for CRT instead, but I know DH will always want his Crystal Palace beakfast on each trip.
Toontown Fair is a must-do with toddlers, and Belle's storytime is a nice way to chill for a little while. The character greeting trail at AK is also great for autograph-seekers & photo ops, and Pochohontas is a nice laid-back, not-too-loud show. The younger the child we have in tow, the more time we plan to spend doing "nothing" and letting the little one discover what they will. We've always been amazed at what their "best memories" have been - the talking trash can, "jumping bean" fountains at Epcot, feeding the fish from the Poly dock....the kids seem to find their own magic.

Thank for the info about aol users and the Poly IPO. I checked and my email did not go through to IPO. I have searched back several pages and can't find the email for the Poly IPO, & I seem to have misplaced it here at home:rolleyes: . Could someone please post it again? Thanks!

Also, thanks to everyone on this thread. I have enjoyed reading it sooooo much! It is the first thing I look for on the boards every morning. I can't wait for my first CL experience this summer!:teeth:

Well, I went and checked the availability for concierge during our Sept stay, and it is all booked up.

So, I am going to go with the mind frame that IF we are sprinkled with pixie dust and are able to get an upgrade for this trip at check-in,fabulous!
But if not, all will be okay ;-)

That will just make a future trip (we still want to stay at AKL & Poly) more special.

Right????

Chris

Hi, Cajunfan! - First time concierge experience :teeth: - me, too! I think we are in for a real treat.

Tooboyz4us - Just hang in there and keep calling for availability. Sending PD your way! :flower1: Things can change between now and then.

Morning all!

cajunfan and TooBoyz4us.....
Is this your first visit on this thread?
IF so, then....WELCOME TO THE LIZARD LOUNGE!!!! :bounce: :bounce:

Here's the Poly IPO info....wdw.polynesian.island.planning.office@disney.com

goodferry...a 12 yo DS? Aren't they just wonderful at that age? Well, at least mine can be a little "pootie"!

steveanddonna...I hear you about those nieces!
It's Aunt Tamby that takes them to WDW, not my brother or SIL. They think I'm crazy to go all the time, but, hey! When one of their girls turns 6, they're hinting around that it's "time" to go back to Disney!

VAgal....WHEN are you going to be at AKL CL???
I DO believe we'll be there at the same time....:teeth: :bounce:

TooBoyz4us.....Just keep calling, calling, calling.....

Thanks for the address BT!

I have been lurking out here for a while....I LOVE reading this thread.

I will be staying at the Poly this summer with my DS(10). Can't wait!!

Have a question for all of you CL experts :D

We are booked at the Poly LVC and I keep expecting to receive something in the mail from them. Is this something they do? I was sure I read somewhere that they send out some information but I haven't received anything from them yet except a normal confirmation letter, which didn't have any mention of a CL stay. I have been in touch with Melissa at IPO and she has made a few PS arrangements for us but I felt a little silly sending her an email to ask if they were going to send me anything in the mail. :o
Figured I'd ask here first since I have already got a LOT of useful info from this thread!
One more question....to access the lounge, do you get some type of key/card to get inside?

Thanks in advace!

BT - I'll be at AKL 06/18-06/22 then switching WL 06/22-06/26. I wanted to be at AKL Sat. a.m. for that Sunrise Safari so we did AKL the first part of our trip. Is this going to be hit and miss  :(?

YIPPPEEEE!!!! We're checking in on the 21st at the AKL CL!!!!!
We're doing the Wanyama Safari that same night!

Sue told me that there's still room for 4 more adults!;)

Imagine doing a safari with BT?????
:teeth: :wave2:

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

You'd be the envy of everyone here in the Lizard Lounge! LOL!

Not putting you under ANY pressure or anything! hehehehe!

luckywife...Poly IPO is usually VERY good about sending out their stuff!
HEck! I even get Christmas cards from them every year!
(AKL CL, too!)

Contact them and nicely tell them your name, arrival dates, and your best contact number.
And yes, your resort ID card will give you access to the CL.
As for when you arrive, they will escort you to the Hawaii building.

Thanks for answering my questions!

I'll remember to ask for the zebra trail if we add a few days at AKL to our trip.

I just can't wait till our 14th fl CR stay! There is so little written about it here (believe me, I've "searched"), it just seems so mysterious.... ;) I can't wait!!

BambiTamby Thank you so much for answering my questions. Very much appreciated!
