Since they're virtual, no fat or calories! :)

Please call the AKL concierge ASAP! While you're making plans, please also note that you'll have to do the sunrise safari on Tuesday morning as you won't be there on Saturday morning. It only runs two mornings a week. You won't need any other PSs that morning! The safari and the breakfast are fantastic! DS still talks about it and wants to make sure DH goes this Easter so he can understand what we keep talking about.

Happy Saturday!
Debbie

BT, allright let me see if I can help you decide by telling you our opinions/experiences with both GF RPC and BWI garden suite concierge. We split our stay between both resorts for our honeymoon this past December (which was fantastic!). We really liked both rooms (we had a honeymoon turret room at the GF) and would gladly stay at either resort again.

GF--
We liked the room layout a lot. It was very spacious and had the biggest walk-in closet I have ever seen in a hotel room. You could hear the orchestra playing in our room (it was one of the rooms that's door overlooks the lobby), which was actually a nice touch (they didn't play really late into the evening so it wasn't a bother at all). The CMs we encountered were all super friendly. The pre-planning staff was also very nice. We enjoyed the lounge as well. The food offerings were a bit upscale for our taste (we are very picky eaters), so we often just had a cookie from the child's area, LOL. The evening desserts were plentiful and delicious. ::yes:: The only problem we had was ever getting a chocolate covered strawberry. Once when they put out a new plate my DH went rushing up there to get us both a strawberry. He said his jaw almost hit the floor when a woman in front of him grabbed 6 out of the 8 strawberries when the CM had just said that that was the last dessert tray for the evening. Not wanting to be quick to judge, my DH thought she might have gotten one for each family member. Nope--there she sat, eating every single one herself. Colin brought me a strawberry, but he left the last one for someone else. Anyway, I digress. We loved the elegance of the GF and the convenience of the monorail. We also enjoyed having a little sitting area in our room to watch TV. There was a speaker in the vanity area so you could hear the TV while you got ready. Our speaker turned out to be broken (it wouldn't turn off), but they fixed it right away.

BWI--
As far as the room itself goes, we found the garden suite to be much more impressive than the honeymoon turret room at the GF. I think that's probably because it is larger and is 2 stories. Plus, the bathroom is much larger and more upscale. There is a small TV in the bathroom as well as a huge jacuzzi tub and a marble shower. The closet space here was much smaller (though there was a second closet downstairs for extra space). We did have a problem with the shower draining, which we called in to maintenance but never got successfully resolved. Oh well, we weren't too bothered by it. We really loved the downstairs living room. There is also a wet bar and a half bath. My theory is that it's always nice to have more than one bathroom in your room, LOL. The concierge lounge was very nice and intimate. The food offerings here were a little less "posh" than at the GF, which suited our picky palates well. The evening desserts were tasty, but not quite as plentiful as at the GF. The midday snacks and evening appetizers were much more plentiful than at the GF though. We also got daily messages from concierge giving us a weather forecast. On the day we checked out, they even gave us the forecast for back in Marietta. We liked the personal touch. The staff we spoke with was all very helpful and friendly. The pre-planning staff was great, and they were even able to get us an Illuminations cruise. We loved being able to walk to both Epcot and to Disney-MGM Studios. The only drawback at the BWI was the fact that the garden suites are a bit of a hike from the concierge lounge. You much walk back inside the resort, down the hall, and then up to the 4th floor where you must walk down a long hall again. Otherwise the room was very convenient though--we were able to get to the bus stops very quickly.

Hope that helps shed some light on your choices, BT. :)

I was wondering if anyone could please tell me exactly what the BC CL has out for all of the daily snacks...breakfast to evening desserts and cordials!?

Please!?

I am starting to pack, I am the crazy and overeager WDW trip planner, and I need to know exactly how many boxes of Goldfish ("Peesh" as my DD calls them), snacks, chips and if I need to bring my favorite coffe syrup/creamer! I am a coffeholic!

Thanks to anyone who knows the information I need!:happy1:

Just so you know, we finally got a real person on the phone, not a voicemail message, but are on the waitlist for Tuesday. Guess I'll have to see if they open up more capacity for that day. Getting ahold of an actual person at concierge was really hard.

Hey GF RPC DISers!!!... The configuration of the type #2 deluxe room (it looks like a corner room maybe) will suit our needs best. Does anyone have any idea how I best request one of these rooms? Also, where on the floors are they situated? This deluxe room looks like it does not have a jacuzzi tub (like the type #1 room). However, there's a little area where the wall juts out by the closet...great place for the crib!!! Thanks for the help!!

Good night and Happy Saturday!!

When's your Poly trip???:)

Not until December 17-27th.

So here I have been, essentially wishing my life away as I count down the seemingly endless days until my trip to Disney, and the concierge from the Yacht Club sends me my elevator pass to the 5th floor. I am beside myself with anticipation and now there is no living with me. I will be eagerly awaiting those trip reports from those of you going this month to help keep me sane!

CRS - welcome. I walk around with a cup under my chin and a grin from ear to black ear. Have you received your luggage tags and your itinerary yet? How 'bout those frequent calls of pleasantness from your trip coordinator advising that your new requests have been filled. Or the meal at the Brown Derby is confirmed just before Fantasmic...or you have the Chef's table at Victoria & Alberts....or the confirmation of the prviate boat for the fireworks spectacular......let alone having all the concierge staff at the resort be introduced... Or..or...or..a place at THE table in the castle for breakfast. Oh, these people know how to do things to make you feel right, and in a mickey frame of mind.:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :yo-yo: :yo-yo: :yo-yo: :yo-yo: :yo-yo: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

heolmedicdj, you are too funny! That is quite the visual of you walking around with a cup under your chin to catch your drool. I will probably need one too when my trip is as close as yours is. Sounds like you have some very fun things planned. We have the Chef's table at V&A for our anniversary on the 4th of July. I can't wait!!!

crs, you will love the YC concierge! I stayed there in Dec. of 2002 and had a fantastic time. The staff there was one of the very best concierge staffs we have encountered. I mentioned during a conversation that we didn't have robes in our room (we weren't bothered by it or anything) and before I knew it, one of the concierge CMs had housekeeping on the phone and was asking me when would be a convenient time for housekeeping to drop off the robes. What service! We loved our stay and can't wait to return. Since I'm in a picture sharing frenzy lately, LOL, here are some pictures of our room and the concierge lounge at the YC to keep you drooling. :teeth:

YC pictures

EAD79 Thanks for sharing-I'm so excited now. What view did you have and can you remember your room #?

We also loved YC Concierge.

The staff was amazing. The Itinerary Planning Office personnel are some of the best at Disney.

We had room 5229 and it was perfect. It was clean, newly refurbished, it had a nice balcony, 2 queens and a day bed and looked out over SAB and the Boardwalk. We could also see Illuminations from our balcony. I would definately stay in this room again. It was a little further from the lounge than most of the rooms but that made it extra quiet. I'll take the quietness over being close to the lounge any day.

We also ordered chocolate strawberries. They were wonderful.

The lounge could be a bit bigger. Hopefully, one day, they will expand it.

I'll try and provide daily updates as we arrive and throughout the trip, if I have enough time with all that's scheduled.

What beautiful pictures! Thank you for sharing!

Ok all you lounge lizards, I have a question! Do/should mugs come with your concierge room? I know Bambi has mentioned having them, and I see them in the pictures at YC. We didn't get them this past January at AKL, but it was no big deal as I wasn't in my room much. We will probably buy one or two this Easter even with concierge access due to the fact I plan on spending time at the pool and the proximity to Mara makes having a mug an easy way to grab a pop and keep it cool.

So, yea or nay on mugs with a concierge room?

Thanks!
Debbie

At the YC the mugs are in the room but they do not come with the room. If you remove the wrapping to use the mug you will be charged.

We didn't feel the need to use the mugs when we stayed at YC Concierge with soda available in the lounge at any time.

Of course, you could still buy 1 or 2 just to keep.

mom_rules, we had lagoon view concierge room number 5151. It was terrific because it was really close to the concierge lounge and the elevator down to the lobby (but not so close that you could hear noise from either area, don't worry). Our view was very pleasant even though we didn't have a good view of the BoardWalk area. We could see the fireworks portion of Illuminations from our balcony, which was fantastic. I highly recommend the YC. ::yes::

I know this was mentioned a few pages back but does anyone know if there are children's size robes available at any of the WDW concierge levels? I have never seen them.

:sunny:

Good evening to all you lounge lizards!:bounce:

Last YC stay, we weren't charged for the mugs.
Even questioned the CM about it....no charge. (shrug...go figure!)
At AKL, DS asked for a cup for his Coke and the CM gave him a couple of refillable mugs.....again, no cost. (another... go figure!)
As for the other concierges, we haven't received any complimentary mugs, but never asked for them either.
At Poly CL, you are right next to both pools...ie, just a hop away from the lounge. But, we still bought mugs, because we love collecting Disney mugs!
At WL, we bought our refillable mugs, but, didn't think anything of it....
more like, "I don't feel like going back up to the CL to get a Coke"!;)
Of course, that's what DS's WDW "job" is...he's the iceboy and drink boy!:teeth:

Complimentary mugs or not.....CL is wonderful!:)

floridafam...the only place I've heard of child sized robes is the GF....which is one of the resorts we haven't done.

ead79...we have BOTH BWI garden suite and GF RPC booked for our 10th!
We're going to do a split stay!:hyper:

Still thinking about when to book that WL suite though!

helomedicdj.....waaaaay too funny! the drool thingie!

Thanks everyone for all of the information! Like I said, didn't have them last time and it was no big deal, but didn't need them either! I'll probably buy a few this trip so we can have them pool side. I bet they will keep a frozen pool bar concoction much nicer, too! :)

Debbie

BambiTamby,

In terms of value, I think the Garden Suite at the BWI is more of a value than the Yellowstone or Yosemite suites at the WL. The sleeping arrangements are the same-a king bed and a pull out sofa yet the BWI is a lot less. I also like the looks of the garden suite better. They easily could charge more for it.

I think they should turn the suites at WL into 2 bedroom suites permanently but that's just my opinion.

I would choose the Yosemit Suite over the Yellowstone Suite for the balcony.
