Well, I did it. I switched our reservation for the Yellowstone Suite to 2 concierge rooms.

DH is going to buy a new bike and I don't want to do both.

Tell me I won't be sorry. We've still got the Grand 1 and the VIP tour on Monday of MK. I think I made the right decison.

I received an e-mail from Disney's special activities office regarding the VIP tour if anyone would like information. It sounds wonderful.:sunny:

LOL! Here we are POSTING at the same time!

OK...you're making DH happy, still staying CL, but you do have the Grand 1 and VIP tour!

Yes....if you feel good about this, then, you made the right decision!

And yes, floridafam, I would love VIP tour information for our June trip! You could post it here or put a link to it, if you want to start another thread with the info! ::yes::

If you click the link in my signature you will go to the photo gallery I setup for WL. There are a few pics there of the Yellowstone Suite that I took in January.

It's really nice. Bigger than the Yosemite but the Yellowstone has 3 small balconies instead of 1 wrap around LARGE one. I stayed in the Yosemite in September last year for a week. It was fantastic to wake up and see the sunrise and watch the sunset and the EWP at night from that balcony.

Memories I won't soon forget I assure you.

OMG! they're gorgeous pics, Fred!!!:hyper:

Thank you FRED!!!!

OK...does the Yosemite suite have the jacuzzi, too?
And do you have pics of that one?

Ack! I'm going into Suite "overload"! LOL!

Soooo many rooms......so little time.

Yes it has the jacuzzi tub. Same size as the one in the one in Yellowstone. Trust me. I spent a few nights in it after a long day at the parks. Ahhhhhh.....I love being spoiled. :)

I have TONS of pics of the Yosemite but never really uploaded them all to the site. Hrmmm...have to take care of that. :)

I am uploading some pics to my site of the Yosemite right now. They should show up within 30 minutes.

Enjoy!

Fred, thanks for uploading those pictures! I just LOVE the look of the VP suite--the saloon doors, tee pee light fixture, and cowboy on the armoire are too clever. It seems like a superbly themed suite, and I've got my eye on staying there someday.

BT, you really should consider a garden suite at the BWI. We stayed in one on our honeymoon this past December, and it was really an incredible room. It's 2 stories (the second story is a loft) and has a huge jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Just don't let your DH run the water into it if he is anything like mine--Colin kept insisting that it wasn't too hot, but when I got in I felt like a lobster in a pot. :teeth: He kept saying that it wasn't that hot, but when he got out, he almost blacked out for a second from the heat. Good grief, I guess he just got carried away, LOL!

Hello again!!! Kids are demanding to watch the WDW planning video again as we speak!!! Okay, it's in!

BAMBITAMBY....Back again to squeeze more info. from you!!! Hope you don't mind....If (and I say "if") we are able to get the AAA rate for a reg. RPC or Sugar Loaf room, do you think I should change the ressies? I would be giving up our lodge tower room in the process. Or, should I hang on to our lodge tower room and hold out for the deluxe RPC? Just trying to weigh if it's smart to give up the xtra space for concierge service in a reg. sized room. Wonder if we'll really even need 130 square feet xtra??

Okay, I AM crazy!!!! :teeth: :teeth:

BambiTamby,

You will find that most of the Itinerary Planning staff, concierge staff, etc. recommend the Yosemit Suite over the Yellowstone Suite because of the balcony.

The Yellowstone Suite has a more elegant touch to it while the Yosemite Suite is more themed.

They both only sleep 4 people which is kind of a pain but they can be connected to a concierge room which would give you a 2 br suite.

With 2 concierge rooms, we will have 2 bathrooms and the children and I will get to sleep in an actual bed the night before my husband's race. I feel pretty good about my decision. His bike is going to be pretty expensive and we just paid off all of our credit cards so I'm feeling kind of thrifty right now. The 2 concierge rooms don't save us that much and I'm sure we will try the suite some other time.

I will try and start a thread with information about the VIP tours. I really think this tour is going to be well worth it. We can only go to one park this trip because of my DH's schedule and we want to make the most of it. Unfortunately, I think it is going to spoil us for future park trips.:D

 Just dropping by to say "Hello", and spread some :sunny: to all! :goodvibes:

Enjoy the weekend!

BambiTamby,

Here is some information on the VIP tours. I took all of this from an e-mail that was sent to me from the Disney Special Activities Office.

We have a group of 7 on our tour. We have asked Janet2k and her family to join us. We are really looking forward to this and it should be a wonderful day.

How much is a VIP Tour?
The price of a Walt Disney World VIP Tour is $85 p/hour. If called in with less than 48 hours notice: $ 95 per hour. The hourly charge covers up to 10 people, if the group has more than 10 people they will need an additional VIP Tour Guide. The second VIP Tour Guide will be charged at the same rate as the first VIP Tour Guide.

Is there a minimum number of hours for a tour?
The minimum number of hours for a VIP Tour is five (5) consecutive hours per day. There is no maximum; guests can stay with their VIP Tour Guide as long as they wish.

Are VIP Tours exclusive?
Yes, Disney’s VIP Tours are private. The VIP Tour Guide will be assigned only to the family/party booking the tour.

Can the VIP Tour Guide escort Guests to the front of the lines?
Currently the Walt Disney World Resort does not offer a service that allows guests to bypass the lines of our attractions. The VIP Tour Services Program offers the most efficient way to experience our vacation kingdom. Disney VIP Tour Guides can enhance their guest’s experience in our theme parks by:
A) Using their knowledge of our property to device an action plan that will allow guests to see the most attractions in the least amount of time.
B) Assisting their Guests with Fast Pass by managing the system and doing all the groundwork for their guests.

Where should the Guest meet with their VIP Tour Guide?
The meeting location varies according to the guest’s needs. VIP Tour Guides can meet their guests at any location in our theme parks. VIP Tour Guides can also pick up guests at their hotel and provide private transportation to the Walt Disney World Resort (please see VIP Transportation for details).

What time does the tour start?
The guest determines the starting time for the VIP Tour. Guests can decide if they want a morning, afternoon, evening, or whole day experience. During certain holiday periods guests will be encouraged to start their tour at park opening, this will ensure that they get the most out of their VIP experience.

Can the Guest take a break during their VIP Tour?
Yes, but since the VIP Tour Guide will be on-hold for the guest during the break, the guest will be charged for those hours. If a guest is utilizing a VIP Tour Guide for more than ten (10) hours in a day, they will not be charged for the time the guest spends on break.

What is Disney’s VIP Services Private Transportation?
As an add-on to their VIP Tour, guests can request VIP transportation. Guests utilizing Disney’s VIP transportation will be picked up at their hotel by their VIP Tour Guide and transported to the Walt Disney World. Guests will enjoy VIP parking in our theme parks and the convenience of a private chauffer during their Disney VIP Experience.
Vehicle pricing:
• Luxury Sedan (up to four guests) $ 70 p/day
• Mini Van (Up to six guests) $ 70 p/day
• Luxury SUV (Up to seven guests) $ 95 p/day
• Large Van (Up to fourteen guests) $ 95 p/day

If you'd like any other information, I can forward you the entire e-mail.

I should note that there is limited availability during certain holiday periods and guides may not be available at these times. Some dates for March and April are already booked solid.

:sunny:

Hi, everybody!!:wave2: (And thanks for the good vibes, DF)

Bambi, still calling for AKL concierge, and losing hope for AP rate for our Poly concierge stay! With it being the week before Easter, it seems nobody is cancelling!! BTW - love your counter - wish mine matched yours!! Eight days, WOOHOO!!!:Pinkbounc

Fred - loved your Yosemite pics, unfortunately I'm not in that league!! What a great suite, though, the themeing looks fun!!:sunny:

Okay, I really do need to get my head examined. We're doing a spur of the moment family cruise for Memorial Day (our first) and the ship returns to dock on Sunday. Well, Monday is a holiday and any self respecting Disney nut would definitely go for that extra night at the World right??!!?? I'm certifiable, I booked the Grand Floridian for the one night, but there was nothing left in the main building :( Our TA is going to note in our reservation and hopefully something will open up between now and then, but am I completely spoiled to be requesting concierge for only 1 night?? And yes, we do plan on visiting the Magic Kingdom to see Spectro & Wishes and the kids have their heart set on doing Mission Space at Epcot.

Need to go take my medicine now....

Tammi

Is that medicine a look through your WDW pictures, playing tapes of Sam Brown's Travel Channel WDW episodes, looking over Deb's site for the millioneth time?? I think I'm suffering from the same malady!!!::yes::

Yippee! 1 more day to go! Wish us luck - we are going to try for the concierge upgrade (with fingers & toes crossed) because we just can't imagine not staying concierge after all these years. I am going to make DH read this thread, though, so he might be willing to try a different resort next trip!

One more thing...do any of you "concierge commandos" have any advice about RPC with toddlers? I've read some threads which state that is more of an adult environment? Do you think I'll be a nervous wreck trying to get my 2 and 3 yr. old to be prim and proper?? They will not be wild indians, but they WILL be typical toddlers!

I have caught the bug!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

After reading all the good things about concierge, I have booked a GVC room at the Poly for our first trip to WDW. Celebrating my dd's::MinnieMo 5th birthday.

Does anyone have any GV room suggestions for a family of 5, traveling with a dd5 and 2 yo b/g twins?

steveanddonna: have awonderful time. Things just keep slowing down the closer and closer we get. I just can't wait anymore.

I may get flamed for this but.....fire away.

My opinion is that you are at Disney World!!! You know, the place families go. If you can't hack the kids, don't do Disney. I can understand a more adult atmosphere at GF but people should understand.

If it wasn't that way, I'd be checkin out the next day and going to Wilderness Lodge or some other place where I know children would be welcomed.

:)

Fred

Thank you, FRED!!!! Exactly what I wanted to hear!!! I've always been of the opinion that WDW is for kids....truly it is IMO, but I get a little concerned when I hear from time to time from other posters that GF is more for adults. I HOPE my concierge mates will have the same attitude as you - as EVERYONE in WDW should!!! I felt that way about WDW even before I had kids of my own - you probably did too!

BTW...would have stayed at WL in a heartbest this trip, but really wanted to be on the monorail with two little toddlers. Thanks for the post!

thanks, we always have a great time! Maybe that's why we keep on going back again and again and again...(although I think these last 2 trips were closer together than any previous ones)

As for kids at RPC, I agree with Majestic. My DH & I are childfree by choice, but we enjoy being around all the happy kids at WDW. How would kids learn to behave in nice restaurants, good hotels or other "grown-up" venues if they didn't have those experiences?

Thanks to all for the great tips and advice - "see" you when we get back!
