I fly our flag everyday. I get a new one just before Memorial Day every year. Before 9/11 only one other house (out of 17) flew it (he's a WWII Marine). After 9/11 every house had our flag up, but now we are down to maybe 5 flags.

No, I don't even own an American flag. I have several Danish flags though. I flew one when the Muslim boycott on Danish products started and I liked it so I kept it out there!

My previous boss is from Israel and owns her own business. This business began in McAllen Tx and caters to hispanic customer. They have many locations all over the Texas Valley, Laredo, El Paso, and SA. Anyway, she displays an Israeli flag, US flag and Mexican flag at her corporate offices. She recognizes the influences each country has on her success.

I live in an apartment and cannot display a flag, but I have a small us flag in my house and in my bedroom we have a huge flag up that says "America, love it or leave it"

I don't own one. There is no underlying reason why I don't, just haven't bought one yet.

Every day and add more "deceroative" ones for flag day, July 4th . Labor Day etc.
When we bought our first home 20 years ago, our housewarming gift was a flag from my Dad. We have since gone through many more...I would not be able to have a flag and NOT fly it everyday.
Have on in each car also...I never forget how lucky we are when I look at the flag.

Used to... then it got damaged and we couldn't fly it anymore. Didn't replace it (so far)

We used to always fly the flag on the national holidays, always. During the Iranian hostage crisis back in '79-'81, we flew the flag from after about a month till they came home. Again, our flag has flown continuously (it is illuminated for nighttime) since early that morning on September 11, 2001. We had to replace it once back in 1980 and again back in 2004.

I always like this photo of it from back in early '03.

Awesome photo, Dan!

I fly it every once in awhile. After 9/11, I flew it everyday. I was the only one who flew it on my street (though, when the Lakers were winning every year we had plenty of purple/yellow flags flying... always thought that was sad - only speaking about priorities).

At my work a lot of us fly little American flags at our desks - but then, I work at Northrop Grumman & we're a pretty patriotic company.

I proudly fly the flag every day weather permitting. I love to see if waving in the breeze and that sight constantly reminds me of those who have sacrificed, and still are sacrificing, to give me the freedoms I enjoy. Flying the flag is one way I can honor them and show that I'm very proud to be an American. I know you can feel this way without flying the flag. I just choose to do so and consider it a privilege and an honor.

got me thinking back to just after 9-11 when I was at Walmart and people were complaing because they wanted to buy a US flag and Walmart didn't have any left. I told a few of them they should have already owned a flag.

:thumbsup2 We proudy fly ours everyday and are the only people on the block who do.

I certainly can't imagine telling someone who wanted to buy one that they "should have already owned one". That's pretty sanctimonious!

You're probably right about that. It was an emotional time for everyone. I also spent 9-11 moving my Mom from her house where my Dad always flew the flag (in fact the first thing she had us do at her new condo was hang a flag because that's what Dad would have done, then we hooked up a TV so we could follow what was going on), a few weeks after watching the strongest man in the world waste away to nothing in 3 short months to cancer. I was wrong, but put me in the same circumstances, I would probably do the same thing again. I am, after all, only human.

While, for obvious reasons, I cannot display mine outside, I do have one in my house.

My Dh displays it everyday. On holidays he puts the swags on he fence.

I think there are more important things to be concerned with.

Yes. It is not only a symbol of our patriotism but also a reminder of the greatest sacrifice of a dear friend that was killed in action in April 2005 in Afghanistan. Every time I see the American flag I remember the one draped on my friend's coffin at his funeral.
