How many nights do you usually visit WDW?

Everyone, I am being torn for my December trip. The plane flights are getting costly. I was originally hoping for 6 nights. With that means.....

At worst case scenario, I'd get 5 nights monday through friday at WDW.

Night 6 might be a Sunday night or just go home on the Saturday after 5 days.

What do you think? How many nights do you visit Disney? Is 5 nights enough during the Xmas season?

We always did 7-8 nights but then in July we did 10 nights/11 days and it was perfect!!!!! We were there long enough to where we didn't feel rushed to get everything done...we actually spent a lot of time at the resort, which was awesome. For once, we came home not feeling like we needed a vacation from a vacation. We loved the 10 nights so much we are doing that again in April!!!! I can't wait!!! :lovestruc

We only go once a year, so I don't think 5 nights would ever be enough for us.

To stretch out our DVC points, we tried 4 - 5 night trips, but found that we were wanting a few more days just when it was time to leave. Plus the travel costs were adding up. We now plan 7 - 9 night trips and are hoping for a much more enjoyable and relaxing year of WDW trips.

When we first started going to Disney years ago we would book off site for a couple of days and do other things in Orlando and then we would book 5 nights at Disney. The kids were much younger then so it worked out well for us.

Now that they are older and can last longer day by day we stay at least 8 or 9 nights. I would actually love to stay longer and have an off day in the middle of the week. I may just have to try that next time. :lmao:

I do think 5 nights is OK, but in my opinion I would add at least two more just so that you could spend two good days in the parks except AK. One day there is enough. This will also help if you have unfavorable weather because that can also throw your touring off a little.

Have a great trip!!!

We have done 6 nights/7 days and felt like it wasn't nearly enough time to see what we wanted + relax.
We did 10 nights/11 times and could not wait to leave - even tried to change our flights to leave a day early..

Last trip with did 8 nights/9 days and it was a perfect fit for us. We got to see everything we wanted (our favorites more than once) and we still spent plenty of time by the pool swimming and relaxing. We were still sad to leave (as always) but we were ready to head home to the real world.:)

To me, it depends on how often you visit WDW. If you are a frequent visitor and only want to experience the "Holiday" things then a shorter trip will work but if you need to do all the "normal" things AND the "holiday" things you might be pushing it. We go several times a year and still find it necessary to spend 5 days at WDW during Christmas. BUT we try to do a little bit of everything including a lot of Character dining, a trip to SeaWorld, all of the special holiday shows and some shopping at DTD.

We went 5 nights/6 days in 2011 and will do the same our next trip. To me, that's plenty.

Last time, we stayed 3 nights and it was rush-rush. This time we're going for 5 nights and taking some time to actually use the resort pool. ;)

The longer the vacation, the better, IMO.

If it works with your schedule, you can often get better airfares traveling on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. We saved a lot on flights to Grand Cayman this summer by traveling Tuesday to Tuesday.

When we go in the summer we like to go 10-14 nights, this July/aug we did 14 and I could have stayed longer :rolleyes1 my teenage DS was ready to go home, he missed friends! We like to relax midday and take things slow in the heat so this works for us.

We're going in November for F&W and mvmcp - 5 nights

Really depends when/ what the focus of the trip!

7 is the fewest I've ever done, average is 10. We did 12 nights last month and it was pure bliss. Next year I am aiming for 14. 5 or 6 just isn't enough.

When DD was little we'd usually go for 7 nights (Sat to Fri). We'd go over Fall Break which is Thu-Fri so she'd miss school Mon-Wed.

We still go over Fall Break but now that DD's in HS (sophomore this year) we stay for 5 nights to minimize the number of school days she'll miss. We fly down Wednesday after school and then back Monday afternoon (she misses school only on Mon).

We love going to WDW in October so I wish our Fall Break was longer. Many school districts in our area are switching to a balanced school calendar and have 2 weeks for Fall Break in October. I would LOVE that! Watch, that's what will happen in our district......the year after DD graduates!

We are lucky enough to be able to drive(7 hrs) to WDW, so we try and do 2 trips an 8-9 nighter and then a 4-5 nighter. But since we go more often, we can just go slow and enjoy the parks and not worry about getting on rides, especially during the Christmas season where we really enjoy the disney decorations, shows and parade:)

We have done everything from 7 to 14.
14 is too long and 7 is too short for us.
9 nights is our favorite number!

I like to use my vacation time from work on a few trips scattered throughout the year so the Disney trips usually gets the short end of the stick! That's only because it's a repeat though. This year I'll fly down late Thursday night with my sister and we will leave Disney Monday evening. That's usually enough for my "fix" - although I can always stay longer! Last year I went for 6 nights and it was fabulous :) I don't think I could do longer than a week.
The holidays are beautiful, but I see no reason you couldn't do what you want to do in 5 days. Other than decorations and the MK Holiday party, there is really nothing more. I find it much harder to go for a super short trip during the Food & Wine Festival :)

We're not ones for a lot of down time and we don't have kids...so we do 5 nights and 4 days in parks - one full day at each park. We do nice dinners at either the parks or hotels. No water parks or DTD. I might get flamed but I think DTD is a little overrated.

We don't go very frequently, so a short trip just wouldn't work. The last time, we went for eight days and really felt we could've used one more. Next trip, we're going for nine or ten nights. That should be perfect.

Just like someone posted, it depends when you're going. if you go anywhere within the first 3 weeks of December 5 days will be perfect. However if you go around christmas day and after, you need as many days as you can get because it'll be crowded and you won't be able to get as much in.
