Me, none....

My wife..... 4 or 5.... sometimes within 5 minutes of sitting down. If she lays down it can be just 2 minutes...

How about you?

I do it all the time! I would say 3-4 nights a week. I take medications that make me sleepy. It used to be more on my old meds. It became a family joke that I would fall asleep mid-sentence.:rotfl:

I don't if i am that tired i just go to bed. However right now i am sleeping on the couch so as not to keep DH awake. (have a hacking cough)

I take medications that make me sleepy.

That is understandable, when i was taking an antihistamine for allergies it was hard staying awake sometimes.

Often. My DH is a night owl, me not so much especially cause I too take a medicine that makes me drousy (I take it at dinnertime so it hits me at bedtime.) I hate to sleep in bed without him, I just toss and turn. So I doze on the couch till he is ready for bed. It works for me. When he is out of town I sleep on the couch all night.

Every night. Since I had DD in 2005, I cannot sleep like a normal person and am up at all weird hours and usually end up on the couch at some point. Most nights I fall asleep while watching TV, stumble upstairs to bed then come down in the wee hours of the morning and fall asleep on the couch again. It sucks. I would do anything if I could sleep 8 straight hours. But if I'm up to say go to the bathroom or the dog wakes me up while chasing the cat, I'm up for 3 hours trying to get back to sleep. I do have meds that I can take but I avoid them because they make me feel too loopy and I have a daughter I need to take care of. I also am afraid of getting dependent on them. I've had them for over a year and have taken a total of 3. I'm averaging 3 hours straight a night at this point...I'm slowly getting better.

OMG I hate it when I fall asleep on the couch! :headache: I don't know why I hate it because my couch is so comfortable. I do it all the time but I'm trying to stay busy so I won't. I wake up at 3:30am because I work from 5am-2pm so I get tired early and I try to watch TV but I'm usually out after 5 minutes.

never
but my husband falls asleep on the couch most nights. Some nights he does not wake up to come to bed. I don't understand-it is not very comfortable for sleeping.

:)

I have to say, that while I don't fall asleep there at night, I LOVE taking naps on my couch... more comfy than my bed with its 12 year old mattress.

Only when my husband makes me stay up to watch Top Chef. I always fall asleep right at the elimination. Something about the music and it always being after 11 by the time we get to that part. :surfweb:

Almost every night. I get all ready for bed, then I go watch TV and I fall asleep.

We have recliners and they are very comfy. Even my friends will come over and almost fall asleep in them.

My husband falls asleep on the couch most every night. Sometimes he stay all night - which I HATE because I miss him. (And because if I knew ahead I would sleep in the middle of the bed!)

Never. Well, I have once, I think, in the past couple of years.

I just never really lay on the couch. Watch tv and read sitting up.

I can take a brief cat nap on the couch if I'm not feeling well, but I can never really sleep on it, so I'd say never. I have to have "perfect conditions" to sleep. Mattress, pillow, white noise, darkness.

My husband has so many sleep problems that he probably falls asleep on the couch every night, and often sitting up in the recliner. Sometimes with it not reclined. Mostly he'll wake up in the middle of the night and come to bed, but a lot of times he just stays there.

It used to bother me in the earlier years of our marriage because it just didn't seem right to me that we didn't go to bed together and wake up together. But now I'm fine with it. I sleep much better alone and he doesn't have to worry about disturbing me with his insomnia.

I do at least 2-3 times a week. And if I am not falling asleep on the couch I am waking up at around 2am and heading out there because I can't sleep and don't want to wake up DH. Then after fiddeling around for a few hours i will falls asleep from abot 6-7am on the couch until I have to get up for the day. I do have the most comfy couch though!

This week, my sore neck says too many times. I have a tendency to be one of those people who is going going going all day. I sit down and its all over. I can sleep anywhere. Yesterday, I was picking up ds at school and I was about 20 min early...took a snooze in the uprighht position. DS didn't even realize I was out until he opened the door and I practically jumped out of my skin!:lmao:

I don't sleep well anywhere I am, I catnap it feels like and as I have aged it doesn't matter where I fall asleep...6 hours is my max. It doesn't matter time of day either..if I lay down on my bed at 5pm I sleep until 11 and I am up for the rest of the night..only to want to go to bed at noon the next day. So, I have figured out how to take 10 minute catnaps anywhere instead of actually SLEEPING anywhere.

I rarely go to a movie theater due to my issue. I used to pay 10 bucks for a movie only to see the opening/ending credits. Literally. Dark place and me sitting in one place for any length of time equals lights out. I can only go if I am taking one of the grandbabies because I stress about sleeping and them being awake!

Trust me, my situation is an on going 'poke fun at mom' moment at my house. My dh thinks its crazy I can sleep sitting up anywhere, holding a coffee cup and never look like I am sleeping or spill the coffee...:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I do quite often, I'm embarrassed to admit. After working all day, running around with the kids, cooking, cleaning, etc, at night, I have a tendency to sit down to watch tv, snuggle into a really comfortable position, and relax to the point that I nod off the sleep.
Sometimes a little power nap like that will re-energize me enough to go fold laundry and get things prepared for the morning before I head to bed.

I know someone who worked in a TV station. He was a studio camera operator. He fell asleep behind the camera. But that's not the really funny part.... the floor had a part that wasn't level, so the camera actually rolled away on him and ripped his headphones off his head. :rotfl:

ugh, too many. at least 3-4 times a week. My DH is a night owl, and I try to stay up and sit in the den with him while he watches TV (not even sure why, it isn't like we're having any sort of meaningful conversation). I usually end up falling asleep on the couch at around 10, waking up at midnight and stumbling to bed - leaving him asleep on the couch :sad2: I never feel as rested in the morning as the nights that I just go into bed at 10 in the first place.
