How many more days until I get a tie-dye cheesecake?!? AUGUST 2011 PTR!!(Finished)

Hi all! I'm back in Brooklyn, New York for 18 very long days until DISNEY! :cool1: I'm so excited I can barely contain myself, but I have to do some summer schoolwork in the meantime so I won't have to deal with it when I get back. :sad2:

As you may know, I went to Pennsylvania for a week with my mom last Saturday. All of our relatives on her side live there so we visit and stay over at my Grandma's house quite a bit. It can be fun when we go out and do things, but sometimes it gets boring because she lives in an extremely small town. We tried to keep ourselves busy though and explored new places around Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Well, time to get on with the show!

Our trip started late last Saturday. When we arrived, my cousin Rebecca who is 19 years old and currently in college invited me over to swim. :goodvibes Here is me and Becca in her backyard. Not the most flattering but hey, whatever!

I was very happy because here in Brooklyn there's not much land in your backyard to have a pool. We swam for a while and then picked up some dinner. I was EXTREMELY healthy and got a chicken parm sandwich and some mozzarella sticks. :sad2: Not a good decision at all because I felt sick afterwards. Speaking of which, I ate nothing but junk all week and now I have to pay for it. But I'm getting back to my normal eating habits as soon as I wake up tomorrow!

Moving on. ;)

After that my mom picked me up and we stopped for ice cream. (Bad eating strikes again ) Then we went back to grandma's and went to bed. :cloud9:

Not really.

You see, my grandma only has one air conditioner in her whole house. It is in the living room, which means during this hot month of July we all had to sleep down there. It was not one bit of fun. One bed was too hard, one bed was too soft, and grandma's was just right. We were the three bears. We got barely any sleep this whole week which is why I'm probably going to jump into bed after I finish this chapter! In case you were wondering, we all were asleep by 4-ish. Not good at all.

Tomorrow I'll continue with quick stories about Sunday and Monday because we really didn't do much those days and then get to the fun parts! Hopefully this will help hold me over until August 3rd! :wizard:

The next day, we went to the mall because I wanted to go to the Disney store! I got two T-shirts, a gift card for one of my friends who is going to WDW after me, and a GIANT Pooh bear!

I have been wanting one for a while now. He was on sale for half off, so just $25! Can't beat that. ;)

We went home after stopping in a few more stores and I decided since I had my Nikon out, I'd take some random pictures. Enjoy!

That's all for now. :goodvibes 17 days!

It sounds like you had a fun trip (besides the poor sleeps and bad eating). I can't believe your Disney trip is so close! Can't wait to hear about that!

Yes we did! It was a nice little start to summer. :goodvibes And I know!!! We're now at 15 days. :dance3: I can't wait!

I thought I'd just make this little update here - we started packing! Not officially, like in a suitcase, but I picked out all my clothes and now they're all together in my closet/drawers. Mommy picked out a few of her Disney shirts (that still had tags on them  ) to finally wear and we were going through our travel size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash containers. It makes me realize our trip is right around the corner. :)

Another update for today...
I just remembered that I forgot to tell you guys we were able to book the Wishes Dessert Party for our last night (August 12th.) I'm very excited to be trying something new in the World! It goes to show that no matter how many times you go, there is always something new to do. :) Also, we are currently booking our first tour! "Walt Disney - Marceline to Magic Kingdom" It is reasonably priced so my mom said let's do it!

I'm in popcorn::!

You're so lucky to be going to Disney twice..within a few months of eachother! Anyway, your plans sound great! Can't wait for more :goodvibes.

Welcome! :goodvibes
I'm so happy to be going twice! It's all because we got a 40% off PIN code - thanks to the help of these boards. & Thank you very much! :cool1:

So last night I couldn't fall asleep, so what do I do? I write a packing list for Disney! Because it's what all other normal 14 year old's do at 2:30 in the morning.

Here's what I have so far. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could tell me if I forgot anything you find important during your trips!

- Pin lanyard with pins to trade
- Autograph pen (We have so many from our previous trips, we don't really need to buy another!)
- Face wash
- Outfits, etc
- Band-aids, and lots of them
- Plenty of hair ties
- De-frizz spray for hair
- 2 sets of contacts with solution
- Perfume
- Body wash, shampoo and conditioner
- Nail clippers, etc
- 2 beach towels
- Aloe spray & cream for sunburns
- Sunscreen so we don't have to use that last one. ;)
- Cell phone charger
- Black camera bag (Has both my cameras in it with both of their chargers)
- Orange drawstring bag with protective case for the Nikon so I don't need to carry around a bulky camera bag all day
- All of my camera memory! (Clear all the pictures on them)
- Mini hand sanitizer for before meals
- Snacks for the room!

When we actually pack, I know my mom will add some other things, like reservation information and plane tickets and all of that important stuff, but this is my list for now. :thumbsup2

Oh, you don't even want to see my packing list! I need to see if I have it saved anywhere and let you know if you missed any "must haves" but I think you're good! And I totally thought I subbed already but I am def doing that now:goodvibes Can't wait to hear more!!!

:rotfl: Okay, thank you! I think we're going to start packing a little today! I already have the clothes I want to take separated from my others and I started putting a few other things like my planning book, autograph pen, pins, hair stuff and body spray together. :yay:

:dance3: :cool1: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Can you tell how excited I am? ;)

Thanks again!! :goodvibes

I'm here! I think it's exciting to get the luggage tags!
There was one year they didn't send us our package with the luggage tags because their system was down.
Then there was another year where we forgot our package at home and my dad had to drive it all the way to airport again. :)

But i'm here as a follower... :) :worship:

Checking in-saw your ticke on y pre-trip and popped over. Loved yor pics of the NYC Disney Store-it was not open yet the last time we went to NYC.

I hope my DD is still as excited about Disney as you are when she is your age-I look forward to a few mom/daughter trips in our future!princess:

OMP! (oh my pooh)
I had told and told and told my mom how much I wanted to find a giant pooh bear at WDW (I hadn't found a big enough one last year:rotfl:) Then, we were cleaning out my sister's closet:scared1::lmao: And I found one that met my standards! :) Now we both have giant pooh bears :goodvibes

Hello there! You guys seem to just have the best luck with the luggage tags! I remember last year before my trip I was on the disboards reading about people who weren't getting them so I was freaking out. :scared1: But all turned out well.
Thanks a bunch for following along. :)

Hi! Thanks, I love going in there to get my little Disney-fill. :)

I bet she will be! Mother daughter trips are so much fun. :goodvibes

Hahaha! I loooove my giant pooh bear. pooh:
Before I got him I was telling my mom how I wanted one when we got to WDW and she said we couldn't get one too big or we'd have to buy him his own plane ticket. Good thing the one at the Disney Store was on sale!
On the disney site though, I found one that is even BIGGER. :scared1: But he's $99, so mine will just have to do. :goodvibes

Loving your PTR! I read a couple of things to talk to you about :)....... First - you're soooo close to your trip date! I'm jealous! But, I'm going on a trip with just me and my mom in September, so I don't have too long of a wait either ;)

Also, great dining choices - I see that you have my favorite on your list - Via Napoli! I Love that restaurant. I'm also a former New Yorker and since we've moved around a bit (NY to NJ to Florida to Maine and next to SC) it's nearly impossible to find pizza as good as in NY -- but I LOVE the pizza at Via Napoli. Our waiter told us they get the flour for the dough in Italy, and the water from upstate NY!

I LOVED your count-down calendar! I'll have to do one of those and mail it to my nieces (once our February trip gets closer).

I'm looking forward to reading more of your PTR and of course your TR once you get home!

Hi! Welcome!
I know, these 8 days can't fly by any sooner. Your trip is right around the corner too. :thumbsup2

Via Napoli is the best. My mom and I ate their twice on our last trip because we loved the pizza that much! That's very cool, I didn't know that. :)

Thank you! It really did make time go by quicker. Be sure to take pictures of it when the time comes. :yay:

& Thanks again!! :goodvibes

That would be 7 days! 7 days until I get a tie-dye cheesecake. Well, not exactly, as it is technically still Tuesday and 11:24pm as I'm typing this, but let's just go with a week. ;)

We have a good amount of our clothes all packed and ready to go, and we will be adding all the other things this weekend. The days are flying by, but not fast enough for me! I just wanted to share a few things with you guys that I am looking forward to. :cloud9:

- Checking into Pop. It will feel so nice to be back at our home resort for the first time in 2 whole years! Hopefully, we get our room request to be in the 60's section on the 2nd floor facing the Hippy Dippy Pool. I'm hoping we get it. It seems people on here actually try NOT to have a room facing the pool because of the noise! :lmao: It doesn't bother us though. I really want to be close to Everything Pop and the pool.

- Being on the buses to the parks and hearing all of the announcements. I swear, I've heard some of them so many times that I can recite them as it's playing! I love hearing the Mickey Mouse song as you enter the Magic Kingdom and the Journey into Imagination song as you enter Epcot. I'm blanking out on the music for DHS and AK but you get the point.

- Having my very first DIS meet with Erin! (mimiloveswdw) I really love meeting other people who share my love for Disney, and it will be a whole lot of fun touring the Magic Kingdom with her and her family for a couple hours! I know we'll both take a ton of pictures for our trip reports. ;)

- Exploring new places. We have a bunch of reservations at places we never ate at before, two of them being at resorts. We have a new dinner reservation for Boma on Monday the 8th and then the Spirit of Aloha show at the Poly on Wednesday the 10th. We're also going to make it a point to check out the Port Orleans Resorts and other deluxe resorts to see where we'd like to stay next July with our AP discount. :thumbsup2

- Most of all, I'm just so excited to be immersed in such a wonderful place for 11 days. WDW really is a place I call home, so I am going to enjoy every second of it from the moment the car service arrives at our door to pick us up to boarding the saddest bus in the world: the Magical Express that takes you back to the airport. :sad1: I might not cry this year though, because I know I will be returning in about 100 days. :wizard:

That's all for now folks, and have a MAGICAL day! princess:

Now 6 days! Time is really flying by, I've been trying to keep myself occupied. :) Thanks a bunch! I'm excited to write the TR, I know it will help so much to pass time until Thanksgiving. :thumbsup2 You guys will have a fantastic time! :cheer2:

I found your PTR on the Aug11 thread. I can't believe that you're 14 and writing a PTR! That's awesome! I'm surprising my DD11 for her 12th birthday and we're going with her bff and her mom. I'm looking forward to reading about your trip. My DD hasn't been to Disney since she was 6 and doesn't remember very much about it. I'm super geeked and trying not to be the geeky mom, but it's just SO hard! Since you're "kinda" close in age, would you skip the Beauty and the Beast show? I know, HORROR! Skipping a show? I've seen it, but I just think that there's a lot more to do at DHS that is more worthwhile. What are your thoughts? The Little Mermaid show is under renovation, so we won't be seeing that one either. Give me your opinions. I have the personalized maps so she and her friend can decide on must do's. I also plan on going to the make a t-shirt store at DTD on the first day so they can make a shirt commemorating this trip.
