How many miles do you drive to work?

Me-0 right now but I'd commute up to 40 each way

DH-6 miles each way (we live in a small coastal area) and he works at the CG station on the inlet

3.25 miles....how much time the trip takes depends on how busy dunkin donuts is...;)

I wake up at work then I call the office and see were my calls are for the day. I have had days were I never left the house and and other days I have logged 225 miles. Most days around 30 miles.

25 miles one way, which takes me about 40-45 minutes. I LOVE weekends that we don't have anywhere to drive! :)

Add me to the WAH list. Simple commute from bedroom to office in my slippers.

Now, my poor DH really does have "wah" of another type -- he's got a 45 minute, one-way commute. Really stinks. I keep trying to generate enough income to let him either a) stop working or b) get a closer job...

I drive about 40 miles to work......mostly 65mph...takes me about 45 minutes. Good thing about working nights is that I never hit traffic!

I cant believe I stated that I never hit traffic.....you guys ever heard of this stupid thing called Mardi Gras??? Well......its SOOOO bad that sometimes I block it out of my memory!!!! I hate Mardi Gras.....I hate tourists.....I hate street hustlers and cab drivers.....but I like turtles!

TOO MANY! 60 miles round trip.

I am still trying to figure out a way that I do not have to commute to work and can telecommute. Wouldn't it be nice if someones house was on fire or they had a medical emergency, they drove to my house and picked me up. Just think how much I could save on gas each year. I bet it would be enough to afford another trip to the Fort.

Oh well its nice to have a dream.

I have about a mile round trip. Just takes a few minutes. Longer in the summer when the tourists are here.

38 miles each way.
About 50mins to get to work, and anywhere from 1 to 2 hours getting home. :headache:(The 2 hours is largely on some Thursdays and all Fridays during the summertime, because of all the Benny’s heading to the shore.):headache:

10 miles each way. about 15 min drive. when we lived in the burbs of Chicago it was 16.5 miles and the fastest I ever got to work was 48 min. 26 stop lights.:sad2:

I thought I drive a lot, 2 days a week I drive 30 miles round trip, 2 days a week I drive 50 miles round trip, and on 1 day a week I drive 150 miles round trip.

I have a 9-mile commute each way. I could probably work from home more often (and save the commutes) but I need the structure of an office environment to keep me focused. It takes about 15 minutes at a leisurely pace.

I can go about 450 miles in town commuting on one tank of gas which is about 3 weeks/weekends of driving in the Suburban. I can do all surface roads or get on a short piece of interstate - it just depends on time of day.

I've had commutes in my career that were as long as an hour each way (only 22 miles in that case) and I went crazy. The extra time I gained back in my life was priceless so it's a case of managing it as best as one can while trying to keep it as short as possible.

14 miles to the uni in the morning. Cna be from 20 minutes to more than 40 depending on if I get going at 7:35, or 7:45.

return trip is 22 miles (have to pick up son #2) and about 40 minutes.

You live in Sweet Valley? My DSDs used to live there. That's in the middle of nowhere. No wonder you have a long commute!! Sorry but I was shocked to see your town. :flower3:

Anyway, I work about 60 miles from home but as I work in NYC I take NJ Transit. I hate the train. Yes, I can read, eat, nap, work, etc. But I get to listen to people yap on their cell phones, talk really loudly because I might care what they're saying, snore, fart, blow their nose, etc. And yes, the farting is the worst! :lmao: It takes me about 2 hours, one way, door to door. My commute is a part time job. And for this privilege, I get to pay about $6,000 a year. Oh yeah, and NJT is broke. Just got a letter that they are increasing fares 25% :headache:

I guess as Disney would say it's a small world after all!

We moved here about 10 years ago and would not give up the open space for anything. Far enough but not too far from civilization.
