How many magicbands do you own?

We've only been once with MBs (in March) but it was a split stay and we ended up with 3 sets (of 4). By the end of the year I guess we will be up to 5 sets, after having stayed a total of 11 nights. I like that I'll have lots of colors to chose from, but the practical side of me hopes they come up with a better system of deciding who really "needs" a new set of bands.

I think its kind of crazy the amount of bands they are sending, it does seem to me to be such a big waste with families getting new ones for each resort stay. You would think there would be a better, cost efficient way to do this and reduce the waste. Not so eco friendly Disney :rotfl::rotfl:

We don't have any yet. Ours are on order for our upcoming trip, we will have three bands, one for each of us

DH and I have 13 each. 12 resort stays, and 1 AP.

DH stated today he was going to spray paint one camouflage.

I only have one for my annual pass, but when I stayed at the WL this weekend they were able to link my AP with my resort stay so i only used my AP magic band and I did not have to carry two magic bands around the park. What is the advantage to having more than one? It seems very inconvenient to carry two around the parks when I feel that the magic bands were suppose to be easy. One band for everything.

So far we have six each. We will each be getting 2 more later this year. We are DVC and AP holders but have always gotten "plain" bands. Nothing different for DVC or AP. but we did get the colors we chose. What is different for AP or DVC members?

I think it would be cool if, after you get a bunch, as it seems many if you regulars have, you could trade some in for some limited edition bands with Disney logos or prints or characters. It would be easy to verify that they actually belong to you and not just some you collected from friends to get a freebie.

It would be a small but fun perk to show off that you are a Disney fanatic!

Trade in five of your old magic bands, get this LILO and Stitch Band or a Small a world Band for free. Trade in 10 of your old bands, choose from a Ariel Band, a glow in the Dark Haunted Mansion Themed Band or a musical Toy Story Band. Trade in 15, get a special edition Mickey Mouse Key to the World Band with certificate of authenticity.

Who's in?

We have currently 3 for me, 3 for each child and 2 for my hubby. He only has two because we went on a trip without him while he was deployed (winter was long and we needed a break from snow). And we have a split stay this summer so we each got two for this trip. I figure we can try to collect one of each color per person at least. Took me a while to convince my daughter that she did NOT need three pink MBs.

You don't have to wear more than one. They are all connected to your account, so (barring glitches) any one of them should be able to connect to your account and get you in the park, in the doors, charging, etc.

I like having one in every color. I mean, don't get me wrong, I want them to scrap the whole thing and go back to the way it was before, and I'd be happy to never put a magic band on again, but for the time that they exist, I might as well have it match my outfit or mood.

We have 0, but are getting some. My sister and kids get 1 each, but my husband and I are getting 2, apparently because we've got a split stay - 2 nights in a 1 bedroom and Kidani, and then 7 nights in a 2 bedroom with the sister/nieces. They told me to get one band for each reservation. I did tell my husband he had to get different colors for each.

A question - he and I are getting a 7 day ticket. Can we link it to both bands? It's a lot cheaper than a 2 day and a 5 day ticket (and yes, we're short 1 day - off to see WWOHP that day).

I don't carry or bring more than one with me to the park. I bring them to match my outfits during my stay. I usually stay a max of two days, so I only ever bring 2-3. Some people take nail polish and paint them, I've seen rhinestones and gems added. I guess if you mess up, you have extras. :)

There is not any actual difference that I know of. I think just the rubber "decorative" slider pieces that state DVC or AP 2014.

I've only got 3 - red, green and pink. The green is my favorite. I think having multiple bands can easily get out of control for people who go all the time. They need to add an option to choose whether you want/need additional bands when you customize. It is not just the bands but the whole packaging thing is getting old. It was cool the first time, now it is just an overly large box for something that could be much smaller. It wouldn't be so bad if the boxes weren't made really nice, I can't bring myself to throw them away. I keep thinking I will make something with them. :confused3

The ticket is linked to your account, and the bands just access your account, no info is stored on them, so you can use one band the whole time, or use them interchangeably.

Check with an elementary school teacher - she'll probably have use for them. I'm halfway to having a class set, and have a great Mother's Day project planned for when I get enough.

Thanks. I assume, however, that the band will only work as a room during the days of the specific reservation (ie, band1 will stop working on day 3 for room entry and charging).

My wife and I have 4 each. I used to wear two on each wrist until I read they don't work so I threw them all away :)

I tried to open my house door, and pay for groceries and gas...no luck!

Bands are not linked to the resort, just the account. I've used bands from several trips ago for everything, room and charging, on different stays. (I've decorated several of my bands, and use whichever fits my mood at the moment.) Both of your bands will work for everything your whole trip. On day 3 you will have to be checked in to the resort to charge on either band.
