How many lego models are your kids getting?

None this year, but last year they got a ton of them. Every time we go to WDW though they each have to get a set. Oldest DS loves Bionicles, and the youngest likes the Star Wars and Castle sets.

My 10 year old son LOVES Legos so I got him an Indiana Jones set, Toy Story Army Men, and the Toy Story Jail and Buzz Lightyear. I had ordered 2 more Toy Story sets from Target, but they never came (don't get me started on that!).

None this year as DS (16) puts the sets together so fast that for the price it's just rediculous.... Sort of sad really I had fun hunting for the perfect sets. Already miss the younger years. Now it's Xbox, Xbox, Xbox

DS gets one set a year, usually from Grandma. Our favorites are Creator - this year he got Fiery Legend. I limit it to one set because I like to get my kids a variety of things and I also *try* to limit how many presents they get (they're spoiled enough as is!).

Last year he took a Lego Engineering class which uses legos and electronic gadgets and LOVED it. He'll be starting level 2 in a couple months. His class was through our school by invitation only, but it was also offered at our community college and open to anyone. We highly recommend it if you run across a class in your area - worth the $$.

You all aware that you can build quite vicious guns out of legs? Stock, barrel, trigger and everything!

Legs? Odd.

Though my son can make a gun/blaster out of *anything*. We're on the pacifist side and tried to curtail it, but then he rode Buzz at Disneyland, and started chewing "blasters" out of toast. We gave up at that point.

And now I try to admire the really neat looking space age "shooty things" (as I'm calling them right now) he makes from his Star Wars sets...

3 or 4, can't remember.

But it's nothing compared to his b'day this year, when my SIL gave us a very generous check for him, to be used solely on fun things for him. We were swimming in Legos...

Oh gracious. updating. It's more now. As we left to go to the store, the mailman had delivered cards. Giftcard to TRU from the stepdad, check from the very same SIL mentioned above. He now owns more Lego sets (and a bike!). I'm going to start asking her to contribute to the plastic container fund...

Oohhhh. Something to look forward to when DS is older!

My half brother has decided on a different career, but DH was really trying to get him to look into working at Lego. He makes incredible things and has done so since he was very small. But he just doesn't think he's worthy, so he went for something more stable, I guess.

Yes, Brickmaster is a paid subscription and comes with Lego kits every three or so months.

We got DS Four Lego Power Miners sets -- one was $99 and the others are smaller.

None this year but we have spent a small fortune on Legos in the past. We even have a room in our basement that is called the "lego room".
