I was perusing the CB board and noticed all the larger cities having their own thread...are there many of us from Kentucky on here?

Also, are any of you taking your kids to KY Railway Museum this Saturday? I think it's Dora Day there.

Andrea

We're really close to you. I live in McLean County just a bit north of you.

Don't know anything aobut the railway museum though.

Born in Greenup County (went to high school with Billy Ray Cyrus), went to college in Danville, law school in Lexington, married a girl from Carlisle County, lived in Bowling Green, now live in Louisville and work at Ft. Knox. Is that Kentucky enough for ya? :rotfl:

I see a lot our fellow Kentuckians on the Dis, too. Good to see the Bluegrass State represented.

Oh my gosh...I am from McLean County too. Lived there all my life...until about a year ago! What year did you graduate? I graduated in 2000.

Wow...you are Kentucky through and through! How do you like living in Louisville?

I graduated in 2003! We must have gone to school together. Totally a small world.

Louisvillian here!

I know there are quite a few Kentuckians on the boards now. When I first joined here (way back when ) there was a lady from Lexington (tennis girl or something like that) and me. Period. Good to see so many others today.

Just curious...what is your mode of transportation to Disney? We went on our first ever vacation to Disney this past June and we flew...which was great! But for those who have driven it, how is it?

We fly. I'm like a caged tiger in a car. Not. Fun.

We've flown before, but we have driven down the last few times. (We can take more junk when we drive.) It's about 12-13 hours from Paducah. That's not too bad. We do it in one day. If you fly it ends up taking all day too.

KY girl here through and through. It is a beautiful state. I've lived in Edmonson Co., Bowling Green, N. KY. area, Louisville, Hopkinsville and Cadiz, KY. I moved around alot, but stayed in Ky. my entire life.

Another near Fort Knox girl here in Meade County :woohoo:

DH was stationed here at Ft Knox and we loved it so much we stayed and settled here when he retired

We both drive and fly to WDW, depending on the trip and the price of the flights. Lately we have been driving though as I ride a scooter and take my own with us on trips. It is about 13 hours ride from here, depending on traffic.

Georgetown here-an Ohio transplant that moved in 04. We drive to Disney every year, from 13-16 hours depending on traffic.

If you're in the Lexington area.... this could be fun!!!

Secretariat is my hero.....

More extras are needed for Disney's 'Secretariat!'

If you'd like to participate in the lights, cameras and action, just show up at Keeneland on Monday September 28th and Tuesday, September 29th at 8 a.m. to sign in. All types and ages are needed and must dress in 70's clothing.

We're told the first 250 extras will receive free hot dogs and drinks.

Officials said to park, just follow the signs for 'Chestnut' at Keeneland.

Those interested in being an extra should bring snacks, drinks (no alcohol) and a good book.

Another Kentuckian checkin' in. :thumbsup2

Just moved this summer from Louisville to Glasgow. Now we're 2 hours closer to the World.

When in Louisville, I worked downtown and someone who parked in my parking garage had a plate that read "LUVWDW." Always wondered if they were Disers, but never saw the driver.

I work (teacher) in Louisville but I live just across the river in Indiana. Does that count?? I moved here from Cincinnati, Ohio about a year ago and so far I'm loving it. :thumbsup2

I did the drive from Louisville to Orlando in June and it took us about 12 hours. I went with my sister though and she drives super fast. It wasn't a bad drive at all and I would do it again.
