How many if you DVC members took advantage of the $399 premium annual pass?

We did!!! Pondered until 3:00 on Monday and finally pulled the trigger. We usually buy AP every other Dec and this wasn't our year but the deal was too good to pass up. It will also give a chance to try the Waterparks and DisneyQuest. Usually do 3 6-7 day trips in a year but may try 2 10-11 day trips instead. Time to start the planning!!

I did - we're local and renew our APs every year anyway, so it was a no-brainer. No way I'll renew them next year without a deal like this, though; we'll drop back to regular FL or DVC Aps.

DH and I bought them on Friday, though we won't activate until next December. The plan is for me to get at least 3 trips in on them. December 2013, May or June 2014, and December 2014. DH may only get the two December trips, but it will still be worth it. If I get a good work bonus in there at some point though I may surprise DH with a weekend down to Disney to just play at the water parks.

We purchased two this past Saturday. I have an AP already, so I'll activate mine in December 2013. My DH is not a big Disney guy, but that deal was too great to pass up, so he got one too, and will at least use it twice, if not 3 times.

I had to wait on hold (about 2pm) for about 40 minutes and the member services guy said that he had sold 20 of these passes already that day, and he said there are about 200 dvc member services people. He said (in his opinion) that with the success of the promotion that they might offer this again in the future. I used gift cards (earning fuel perks) so quite the win-win!

Have seen a lot of crying about that reduction in discount from 20 to 10% Those people aren't saying what a great deal it still was to buy at 399.00

I think people are more upset about the bait and switch feeling. The reduced discount should have been announced when the offer was originally rolled out.

We bought vouchers before the price increase but were able to upgrade when we picked up the passes on December 15th. We didn't get a refund for the lesser price but we were fine with that.

We have become big fans of a water park day (weather permitting) and are looking forward to using the PAPs. I think it was great marketing, because we booked another trip this upcoming year, just because we got them, which we usually don't do. Hopefully we'll see this repeated again. Might have to add on more points next!!

We traded in 2 8 day park hoppers purchased from UT for PAPs over Thanksgiving. We had planned to come back in February, but have since added another trip in May, as well. I am thinking another trip for MNSSHP / F&W might be in order!!:cool1:

i remembr reading about the possiblity of it changing as soon as the discount DVC PAP were announced, though it wasn't through Disney directly. I don't see a bait and switch if perks are only guaranteed until the end of the year. Maybe people should read the terms before buying.

I dont see it as bait and switch but I do have issues with it. While I am happy that they are still offering a discount, it is a nice perk if you have an AP but it does bother me that they have reduced the benefit. My issue is TDO is just nickle and diming everything. It is getting really bad. Its the small things that add up and people need to start standing up and complain about it.

I was originally going to purchase 3 PAPs but I got just the 1 to get discounts. Might only make 1 trip in the next year instead of 2 trips.

We bought 4. Probably would have bought annual pass anyway, so I am not worried about the change in discount. The only concern will bet hat the kids have too much fun at the water parks and are disappointed when we go back to regular APs :)

Great deal and I bought 2 . Was going to buy a 7 day MYW for May trip and this was just a few bucks more. Now we are going twice in 2013 so thank you Disney ! Works for us and for them . Perfect !

A very old saying comes to mind: "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"

While I understand the Premium AP was purchased by us and not a true gift, I think those of us who were going to buy APs or passes near or close to the value of these within the next year did get a gift. Those discounts for AP holders were never intended by Disney to be permanent.

I bought 5 of them. We were due for our annuals anyway. Went the first week of Dec and now we are planning our next trip either Oct or Nov. We buy annuals every year. I was disappointed about the 20 percent being dropped, but it's Disney and I expected something to happen with all the PAP's being bought.
I also had a hard time with getting the discount anyway, either the stores were telling me they didn't give it or ringing up only the 10 percent. After a couple of days I stopped even trying to use the discount I was so aggravated.
I just hope the water parks stay available until our next trip..lol...

We bought 4 for our family. We are usually only able to visit WDW about 7 days per year, but since we purchased DVC, we have a total of 21 days in WDW in 2013! Totally worth the discounted PAP for us this year! :thumbsup2

I wish we had bought a second set to redeem next year. I finally have my wife talked into trying the water parks LOL

The only down side is them reducing the merchandise discount to 10%. She really liked that 20% in November!
