How many here own DIS stock

I bought several hundred shares at $17 back in Sept 2001 when things were looking down.

I has since gone to nearly $25 as of today.

Anyone else?

We are long time stock holders so our picture is a little different than yours. We have 300 shares and are going to sit tight for now, showing a loss on paper.

I've bought and sold for years. Used to get discounts for being a shareholder.

Then I stopped for a few years and the stock went low after 9/11. I rebought again. It went to around $15 the started to go up again.

It has grown slow, but is doing well lately with all the Eisner retirement talk.

I have 7 shares...all I could afford! My BF has 150 and I'm his beneficiary so they're basically mine anyways. I remember the first 107 were at $20.26. I'm not sure what he got the other 50 at but it was lower.

Rolled over an old IRA into 100 shares 2.5 years ago, bought at $23.99 - been a pretty flat investment, but I like being a part owner of the magic. I'm hoping it will pay for a truly wonderful vacation with my grandchildren in twenty-five years.

I get 100.00 dollars of Disney Stock a month out of my savings account. I have been doing this for 2 or 3 years and have bought at a range of 14.00 to 25.00. I probably have around 300 shares. I am hoping to pay some of my daughters college in 8 years.

We just bought 1 share each for our two kids (as Christmas presents). We plan to buy more as time goes on. As a stockholder, are there any Disney discounts or benefits? I was told that as a stockholder, you can attend the annual stockholders meeting, but with so many people holding at least 1 share, do they limit it?

No discounts or benefits (there used to be - free Disney Club membership - hotel discounts - years and years ago).

Every stockholder is entitled to attend the annual meeting. Last year in was in New York City (IIRC). I'm not sure WHY anyone would want to attend an annual meeting (used to have to go to them to provide support for a company I worked for, and hated them), but you can go.

I own 39 shares of Disney stock, thanks to a stock split several years ago. I joke that this stock is going to fund my retirement!! Unfortunately, the way the value has been going, I am almost back to what I paid for it originally. I'm not due to retire for about 20 years, so hopefully the stock's value will appreciate a lot by then! I refuse to sell my shares in any case. I like owning "a piece of the magic".
