We will be a group of 11 total family members. My mom will be renting a scooter which is new for all of us. I know she will get to board the bus first but will they allow all remaining 10 of us to board after her as part of her party before the rest of the people waiting in line? Or will our group be separated? Thanks

Before COVID, there were signs that said one person using a wheelchair or ECV could be accompanied by up to 5 others guests. The sign asked that any additional guests in the group wait in the line.
We just got back from WDW a week ago and at that time, they were limiting occupancy on the buses to filling the seats and no more than 15 guests standing. We only had a total of 3 (my husband, me and my daughter using a wheelchair). Given the lower number of guests per bus, it would be reasonable to have more then 3 wait in line.

With that big of a group, I would just automatically keep a couple with Mom and have the rest get in line. They will most likely separate you anyway and that way your group will have already be in line in case more people show up after you.

Bus drivers when we were there a couple of weeks ago were doing the person with the mobility device, plus two could accompany (more if only two adults and little kids were involved), all others had to to go through the regular queue for the bus and they were strict about that one.

I was there the first full week of June. I use a power wheelchair and had a party of nine. We always loaded as me and two people and the other six went into the line. This is what the driver told us the first time were rode a bus and we just lined ourselves up that way after that.

The two people that went with me were my niece who was my designated helper (remove the backpack from the chair, spotting me as I come down the ramp, helping with bag check, etc.) and another niece who had a large stroller.

Can they put three scooters on a bus?
No, only two scooters, per bus. One per monorail car, one per skyliner. Boats depend on crowds. You will have to split up and decide where you would like to meet up. Scooter one and two could wait right after they clear the area where buses drop off. On the monorail, there is a chance you would be on the same monorail, just different cars. Same for the skyliner (it is like every 7-10 cars are accessible. (They need to wait for cars that have lockdown bars, to secure scooters).

Some buses can take 3, but I would plan to split up because most buses only have space for 2.
As of last month, all but ONE of the buses that could accommodate 3 have been redesigned or retired according to several bus drivers DH spoke with. They thought they all had, but the one that could load three was the the first one that showed up at our stop on our first day, unfortunately it wasn't for the park we had reservations for. And there were three of us in scooters at the stop at the time......lol.

Actually, we have loaded multiple per Monorail car, just one per side, i.e. there will be seats between the scooters, but you absolutely can be in the same car. One day in February we saw a record of 9 scooters loaded on the same monorail.

A few years ago, a driver told me there were only 3 buses left that could hold 3 ECVs/wheelchairs and they were in the process of getting rid of ability to carry 3. So, it would not surprise me if only one was left

I really think that they thought that it would speed things up being able to take that extra ECV. But it ended up putting the buses so far behind because it took forever to load 3. Too much maneuvering and then it left less space for others. Another "good" idea in theory that just did not work out in practicality.

Yeah, that's what they were figuring out, they said by the time they loaded the third ECV, the next bus had arrived, sometimes the next two buses. So just didn't work out well.

3 spots also made it difficult for loading, especially for ECV users. The setup was the 2 spots on the driver side of the bus, like the ‘2 spot’ buses, with the 3rd spot on the other side of the aisle right in front of the ramp.
Parkin an ECV in the 3rd spot could be problematic even for experienced people because It was the opposite of everything they were used to.
My daughter was a wheelchair passenger at least twice with 2 ECVs that I recall. One time, we were in the back space and the 3rd person was parking in the spot on the opposite side. He looked like he might hit my DD’s wheelchair several times and he did hit into the other ECV at least once - then the driver took over and parked his ECV. Another time, we were directed to the third spot, but the ECV driver in the spo directly opposite to our spot was not close to the wall. Because DD has a narrow and light wheelchair, we made it in, but it was tight.
So, that 3rd spot appeared to be more trouble than it was worth.
