I'm curious how one gets to be a character?

I was a CM as TDS for several years...1999-2001 I believe. It was fun while it lasted, but I don't really miss it at all. I miss the great merchandise they had! Most of the DS around here have closed, and before that they were pretty bad. I hope now that Disney has taken the remaining stores back things will go back to the way they once were.

There are character auditions. I auditioned twice when I was a CM and made it thru the process the 2nd time but there wasn't a current perm opening for my size at the time. The audition itself was fun - some simple dance moves and learning a routine and some improv acting/pantomime skits.

There are internal auditions and also open casting calls at major cities. I believe the auditions are announced on the Disney casting website. There are also auditions for dancers, musicians and "face" characters. Check it out!

while not officially owners, yet..... hoping to close within the month. I am a former cast member from 2000 - 2001 who worked at Sunshine Season Food Fair as a cook. loved it, miss it.

DH and I met on the college program, working education at AK (the people with the bugs at the front of the park) then I worked as an Animal keeper at AK for two years. DH worked Flights of Wonder and as Goofy! =)
