I got to thinking about that the other day......

I know I spend A LOT OF TIME ON THE DVC BOARDS vs. the other Dis Boards. I do visit a few others occasionally but not often ever since becoming a DVC member. Just curious :goodvibes

It depends for me. Lately I have been on DVC quite a bit, but when I was waiting for a resort discount code I was on that board 3 or 4 times per day. I check this one at least weekly though.

DVC boards first. If I have time I'll check out the Podcast board.

Dennis-

I have several open at the same time. This one, budget, DCL (because we are cruising soon) USF and IOA (going there soon also). Then when I feel like torture, I visit the community board.

DVC, planning (just in case there is something I would miss), and rumors.

Most of the time I'm on the DVC boards. I spent some time on the cruiseline boards before our cruise but now probably spend 99% on the DVC boards. I'm hooked.

I'm right there with you... I can probably count on my two hands the number of posts not made on the DVC boards. I tried the community board once, but it was like standing in the middle of a Nascar race.... DVC is what I know.. at least a little bit. :)

Hi, Sorry for being such a newbie, but which are the "DVC Boards" ? Am I missing a great resource? :surfweb:

Okay I have gone back and re-read this thread along with the few posts since mine. lol So you all are referring to the DVC Board on the Dis Boards VS the Other board topics! Silly me!

I spend a lot of time here. Plus always visit the Transportation board too to make sure I'm not missing any airfare deals. Been spending time on the Resorts board lately since we've booked 2 nights at POR in October along w/our DVC stay. The Restaurant board, Theme Park Strategies, Families board and lots of time on the Budget board too. I'm on the DISBoards a lot!!;)

Yes:thumbsup2

Yeah I am pretty much just on the DVC boards. I do look at some of the others from time to time.

I visit and post mainly on the Disneyland (since I live out here) and Podcast boards and hit these a couple times a week. I've been DVC for so long that I wonder if I'm just more blase about it. Or maybe it's how my family uses our DVC vs. how others use theirs that makes them become more frequent posters to the DVC boards over us/me? Or is it the community on these boards?

This spawned some thoughts that got me formulating other questions....
If you compare the numbers on the When did you buy your DVC to the level of posts, I wonder what the % or ratio is of posts from people who bought a long time ago vs. more frequent buyers. Looking at the poll results, more people who responded to the poll bought within the last 3-4 years. A related thread indicates that most people have between 200-400 points.

Does that mean posters with a higher monetary stake are more interested in the DVC board?

(For the record, I find it ironic that I am posting like this.....I really hate statistics! :rotfl2: )

I read other part of this forum and mainly post in the DVC area but have been known to branch out

This made me giggle. I think I love being on here for several reasons....

1. Sense of community for sure. Most DVC people are very proud to be members. You kinda "get to know people" by seeing the frequency of their posts.

2. The DVC knowledge that seems to always exhists here....is just amazing. :thumbsup2 I have learned soooooooo much by frequenting these DVC boards. I feel like I can get a correct answer here quicker than asking my guide or calling MS.. :goodvibes

3. I almost feel like I might miss something new happening within DVC but can always find out here.

4.Love to hear about an experience some one had while staying DVC. That is always fun to read about.

5. It is just fun hanging out with people who have a few things in common....our love for Disney and our love for DVC.

6. It is also FUN being able to anwers "newbie" questions from time to time....because I have surely been there done that and still consider myself a newbie. We have only been members for 17 months. So if I can help someone out and I know the answer...I almost feel like I am a moving s l o w l y into the same ranks of the others.....those DVC "question answering pros".

I could probably go on and on...but I will stop here. popcorn::

I visit the DVC sections on DISboards, as well as 14 other forums. While I primarily stick with the DVC sections on these 15 forums, I do tend to also visit the resorts and restaurant sections from time to time.

Six great reasons why since we bought DVC in May I've spent nearly all my DIS time on the DVC boards.

FOURTEEN other forums????? I've "seen" you on several others, but I don't think I even know of 14:confused3

While DISboards is certainly the largest forum around, there are many other great active communities of Disney and DVC fans out there. I guess I just can't enough! :goodvibes
