I have a question about this. If I bought the discounted Disney giftcard and used it for merch at the parks, would I still get the full 20% DVC or AP discount?

This is one of the advantages over the Visa CC or DC as those require you to use that card.

Absolutely. Stack that savings! You can even do it via mobile checkout by applying the DGC as a payment method. The DVC/AP affiliation is automatically applied and you just checkout with DGC as payment. Same thing with MagicBand room charging. Use the discount and pay off the bill at the front desk with your discounted DGCs.

No, you cannot pre-pay or leave a DGC on file.

The standard for a deluxe resort is $2,000 before the credit card is automatically charged. You can ask the front desk to increase that for you.

You can also have the front desk reverse a charge to a credit card and take a payment with a Disney GC if it does charge the credit card early. I've done it multiple times

I love charging on my bands. DLR needs to get with it and allow it. As long as you stop the night before checkout or before you reach 2k they wont charge your card. But I always stop in when we walk by and have a spare minute and pay what the balance is. At Aulani I went over my 2k without realizing and they charged my credit card, I went to desk and they just refunded my CC and let me pay with a GC

Does Texas get special deals? Perhaps for cruises? None of the states I have lived in recently show in my profile.

Well, so far all I’ve ever gotten are promotional emails telling me about cruises out of Galveston!

That is the number I was referring to. It is an MDE account number not a DVC number. Someone who signs up with an annual pass who is not a DVC member, and provides information as to having the pass, will also be recognized in that same Memberships and Passes section with a an MDE account number as an annual passholder.

And assuming it is a DVC number that identifies a member and all that members holdings, and could be used by DVC to provide the actual total number of all members, it appears DVC has decided to never do that since it never has provided a member total for all DVC Resorts combined, and the numbers provided in the per resort tables in the BVTC Disclosure Document cannot be added together to provide such a figure because members in its tables who own two resorts are counted in the total for each such resort.

Ok, interesting that it’s under the DVC line, and there’s no such number under my AP affiliation line. And the number under the Castaway Club line is my CC number. But you’re probably right - it seems the only time anyone needs their Club ID is to set up access to the DVC member website. Oh well, it was a nice theory anyway.

I dont understand why DLR doesnt implement opening the doors with them
