How many Disney $$$ do you give YOUR kids??!!

Where do you get the Disney gift card? Is this something I can get at the World of Disney, as this will be our first stop of our trip. And you canNOT turn the gift card back into cash if they don't spend all of it?

My kids are 3 and 6, and I'm letting them spend 50.00 on whatever they want. They both have almost that in their piggie banks, and we'll top off to 50.00.

My kids get Disney Dollars as gifts from my sister and their godparents. DD#2 (6 yo) had an expensive birthday party, so we only gave her $25. DD#1 (12 yo tomorrow!) was given the option of an expensive party or $75 and a couple of friends sleeping over....she chose the $75/sleepover option. It will play out that DD#1 has about $150 and DD#2 has about $100.

We did this with them last year and it worked very well. They knew that when it was gone, it was gone and we were not buying a single souvenir for them. They did great......DD#2 came home with $1 and DD#1 spent about half of hers on a nice pair of earrings (and we didn't have to cart home loads of plastic junk).

Our girls "earn" DD from trip to trip. When we go to Disney the money they have is the money they'll use for anything from hats to pins. Usually they come back with tons of money because they aren't interested in a lot of the things there. It sounds so spoiled, but they have a lot of Disney stuff now they don't really linger in stores. Plus they're so into going on the rides and seeing the princesses.

Every time we go DD6 buys some type of stuffed animal, but I make her wait until at least the fourth or fifth day of the trip to ensure that it is definitely what she wants.

Next time we go we're going to use their DD for their snacks because their money is starting to really add up.
