How many Disney cards have you bought at Target

Well, I tried to get $1000 today and Target's computer kicked it back - I don't know if it is my bank or the Target Debit. She rang them up again and just did $500, and that worked. Kinda annoying, but it just means I need to go back every day. ;)

(Hey, my unpaid lunch hour is worth the $25 I save on $500 worth of gift cards!)

I use them to pay for my DVC dues:thumbsup2.

I put $40 per paycheck into an online bank account. Then, when our maintenance fees are due in January, I use my Target card to buy the Disney gift cards (I bought 17 of them this year) and then pay it off with the money from our bank account.

I'm so glad I finally learned about this. Our MF's jumped up 8% this year and I had only planned for a 5% increase. By purchasing the gift cards at Target, I was able to cover my "shortage".

I paid off our cruise with the gc's. It was booked through DU so I used their site to pay for the cruise. Our WDW vacation is booked directly through Disney. Has anyone used their online payment to pay with gift cards? It sounds like you can only use one gift card at a time? Is that accurate or can you make multiple gift card payments online with Disney?

I applied at least 15 gift cards on the Disney site to pay down our cruise. I know you asked about WDW so I can't answe that specifically but for our cruise I was definitely able to apply more than one gift card. I did enter each one separately, however but it doesn't take too long! :thumbsup2

How did you pay with gift cards on DU's site? I looked for the option but all I could find was credit card payments, I have a TON of gift cards from Target and am not looking forward to calling once a day/week for the rest of the year to pay for it.

This is a great idea! I have a question though, I booked through AAA and I did use a disney gift card that I had as a deposit. If I start buying gift cards at target to pay it off...what happens if I get a free dining pin and they owe me money back? Or what if something came up and I had to cancel the trip? How would they refund the money to me if I paid with a ton of different gift cards? Anyone know?

When I called in to Disney today to apply gift cards to my room ressie, the representative told me to make sure to hold onto my gift cards in case they needed to refund any money for cancellations etc. HTH

On DU you enter the gift card number in place of a cc #. I used the Disney rewards choice. Enter the lat 3 digits of the pin. Enter the expiration date of 12/31/12. In the notes box note that it is a gift card. You can enter no more than 1 at a time. Press the back button after you get the confirmation note and then enter another card #. You can enter no more than 10 gift cards per day. It will accept $25 or $50 denominations!

Thanks so much KarlaG4Kids!

To get back to the actual point of the thread I bought 26 at once and that is all my store had, I was going to buy 29 but they didn't have enough. I just went to the cashier that had no one in line and apologized before handing them the stack lol.

One thing that has come up on other threads about the topic and is worth repeating here is that after you use your Target card to pay for 6 prescriptions, they send you a card that gets you an extra 5% off for a whole day. Just yesterday, I went to our local Target, bought every $50 Disney card they had (20 of them) and, using the Target card and bonus 5%, paid $900 for $1000-worth of gift cards. We should get 1-2 more of those extra 5% cards before our trip, and I intend to use those the same way.

Sounds like a good deal. Except, I'm not sure I can do it.

I'm a federal employee. My health insurance is through the Federal Employee Insurance plan. Federally funded medical programs are not eligible for additional perks, and the Federal Employee Insurance plan is partially funded by the government. I haven't been able to earn rebates and other goodies on my prescriptions.

I have five prescriptions a month, so this adds up.

Has anyone ever used Dis gift cards when they rent points & want to pay for dining plan? I want to have the person I rented from use the gift cards to pay for my dining plan. The only problem is it will be $1000 worth of gift cards.

Which Target's sell the Disney gift cards? Just Super Target?

I've been to four different Targets this week and they've all sold them, and none of them were Super Targets. They're not the ones up front by the registers. They are on a rack in the area with the books and dvds.

my husband works at Target and told me they are listed as Entertainment cards so they are kept in the entertainment sections, ie books & dvds is where the $50 denomination cards are and at the cash registers where the impulse dvd buys are (our store has a rack of cheaper and new release dvds at the cash registers and the $25 denomination cards are kept up there on a rack next to them.

So, today I was talking with a phone CM as I gave her 15 gift cards, and I was apologizing for it, and she said it was fine, it was one of the easier things to do, and her record was 100 of them anyway - a gentleman had bought 100 gift cards when Sam's Club was doing the Disney Store gift card promotion and she entered them all in for him at once.

I felt a little better. ;) I'm down to $900 left on my reservation so I'll be taking care of that tomorrow and Tuesday, when my final payment is due.

Does anyone know if you can pay for WDW park tickets online with these? Thanks!

NO you cannot! :sad2: I have a bunch and my plan was to buy my tickets with them online. Sadly I found out you can't. You may be able to call and buy tickets using the GC's that way but not online. I will hold onto mine and use them at the gate I guess.
