I take nine...sometimes ten when I need prednisone. Five are for allergies and asthma. Hopefully after my allergy shots begin to work, I'll be able to stop all that! Then there's three for pain...I have fibromyalgia and car crash related injuries so I take vicodin, neurontin (for neuropathy), and sulindac (anti-inflammatory) for that. And I take a pill to stop stomach acid....a side effect of all the other medications. That's a lot for somebody who is 33 years old. :( It used to really embarass me, but I've pretty much gotten to a point in which I accept that I have health issues and I have learned to make the most of it all.

I take at least 3 different meds daily. Tegretol, Elavil, and Bextra. In the summer that increases to include meds for allergies and asthma- usually zyrtec, singulair, and a maxair inhaler. Aloso have a muscle relaxer, a pain med, and a sleeping pill to take when needed.

Dakota_Lyn- I understand how you feel as I'm only 30. Also I was on nuerontin for about a year but it quit helping me so I quit taking it.

Our one ds takes 3 for asthma. He has been on these meds for 7 years and I think it is not good because of the side effects. Now he also has 3 allergy shots a week. I am thinking of getting a second opinion if the dr. does not reduce his advair dose. He doesnt even see him now, just go in for the shots. But he needs a physical for his new school and I did question the pedicatrician and he thought his meds were o.k. , but then again he is the other drs. golfing buddy etc. And now since we are going to disney in april I am asking for rhinocort because I am sure he will be sneezing up a storm. Sigh sigh.

None for me, but my parents both have high blood pressure so I worry I'll have to deal with it someday. They are both in their late 50's.

I used to take 3 very expensive medications daily and more for all of the procedures I had to take for my IBS a few years back.

I changed my diet and now I'm down to an occasional over the counter for acid reflux.

It is amazing how much your diet affects your health, but Drs. rarely let us know.

I take 11 plus a multivitamin. Docs want my BP as low as possible - without me passing out - because of heart issues. Also coumadin because of a prosthetic aortic valve since age 20. Thyroid quit several years ago, depakote for seizure disorder, zocor, tricor, diuretic, prevacid, etc. Many of these are high $$ even with insurance. And then there's the issue of interactions...
