How many Diapers?

How many diapers would you bring for a 20 month old for a 8 day stay? I was either going to buy them at Gardengrocer or weshop (or maybe diapers.com) or ship them down ahead of time (depending on cost). I'm just not sure how many to plan for. I mean at home we change about 6 times a day (morning, naptime, poopy bums, supper, bedtime) but don't want to be STUCK (KWIM). Ideas? Experiences?

You could always order a case, and whatever extras you have you could ship them home or try to give them to a fellow vacationer. At that age with my oldest (my youngest is cloth diapered) we were going through about a case every 2 weeks.

We have a DS who is 2.5 and we use about the same # of diapers per day that you do. We used the same # of diapers at WDW as we do at home. I always bring 24 hrs worth of diapers/baby supplies on the plane with me just in case we experience delays. So, for our 8 day trip I knew I'd need 7 days worth of diapers. I ordered from gardengrocer.com. DS could wear a size 3 or 4 diaper, so I ordered 4's because there were 54 diapers in the package (the size 3's had 62 in the package - way too many). We did have a few left over, but I just packed them in the diaper bag so we had plenty for the trip home.

Are you driving or flying?? If you are flying then order online and have it sent to the resort (or where you are staying). If you are driving then you can buy them once you are down there or buy a case at home and bring it with you. When we went with two kids in diapers we bought the case of 56 and 60ish for the other. They were in the bags with Mickey mouse on it. Now we are finally onto pull-ups and a 3rd child pottied (finally). We are getting piddle pads from the walmart online.

I'd just plan for the 6 a day. You may find you actually use 1 less as I tend to go a bit longer between changes while at the parks. I always plan the same number I use at home (5/day) and then I add about 4-5 extra just to be safe! I usually manage to come home with those plus a couple more.

A friend of mine made a good point about just bringing diapers from home....it gives you room in the suitcase for things you buy! Of course with all the luggage charges these days I know we all try to bring as few suitcases as possible.

This is what I do too. Has worked out great in previous trips.

Our DD ended up going through more diapers than usual while at WDW. At that time, she was crawling around alot so the urine was more evenly distributed throughout the diaper. Because she was sitting in the stroller or in our laps most of the day, it all collected in one area and ended up soaking through many times.

We took the # we normally used in a day (7) and added two more for a total of 9 diapers a day. We packed at least 12 diapers to take on the plane with us and then ordered a package from wegoshop.com to be delivered when we arrived at the resort. We ended up with enough, but not too many leftover. They weigh nothing so taking a few extra from home and bringing them back isn't really an issue.

If you do run out, they sell diapers at the resort stores and in the baby care centers in each park.

I usually plan for 5-6 a day. We over pack on diapers and then use the extra room on the way home for souviners!

this is what we did, also. I buy by the case so I just figured what I use in the time allotted and packed two extra days worth (just in case) came back with diapers. We drove so the room in the truck was replaced w/packages. But, if you are flying instead of gardengrocer check the price of having them shipped to your resort from walmart or what is the name of that diaper online store???

Take an average of what you use at home on a daily basis and take that much plus 3 days!

We did 4 days in WDW plus it was 2 days to drive each way. We bought a case from Sams and took one package for each kid. We had a few diapers to spare when we got home.

I always take enough to get me through a day on the plane. My DD has a change about 5 times a day, so I take about 8. Then I take a brand new pack of travel wipes. I usually buy a pack of diapers, and wipes when I get there. I use about 4 to 5 a day as I notice she doesnt usually wet the diapers as much. Likely from sweating.
