When you travel, how many diapers do you bring per day? I'm not talking about in the parks, just in general. I think I bring too many. I even pack a ton when we stay with my dad, and we have easy access to stores there!

We use cloth diapers, even while traveling, and I generally pack 5 per day, doing laundry every 3rd day or so. More if the baby is younger.

Depends on the age of the kid! A newborn I would pack 10-12 a day, a 6 month old probably 8, my 15 month old I would pack 6. I also pack at least one extra days worth.

I normally cloth diaper, but not if we are gone more than 24 hours from home.

We get our diapers at BJs…So, I'm bringing one package for 5 days -not sure what that equals out to, but better to be prepared then not. I can tell you that we took a week off from work in December and I started with a new package and am still working out of that same package.

It depends on the age but I packed about five or six everyday in our park bag and usually came home with a couple. Remember the baby care center sells them although they are a bit expensive. As does the hotel gift shops. But you will never be without the means of getting a diaper of you run out.

You guys are pretty varied! My usual is 8 per day plus extras. DS is 17mos, so I'm thinking 6 would be sufficient. I'll also have one overnight diaper per day (plus one). Technically that gives him 7 per day plus my extras. At least using diapers during the week clears out room in the suitcase for souvenirs, right?

I totally agree with that making more space for souvenirs!
DS2 keeps asking about the potty…Luckily he doesn't really want to sit on it, but is interested. I've gone as far as telling DH and daycare that we WILL NOT be potty training until we return. I can control diapers. I WILL NOT do Tour de Potty and WDW! :rotfl2:

Same with us; I'm just not committed enough for cloth out and about. :)

We're planning on ordering a pack of diapers for our 4 night trip from Amazon, I'm estimating about 6 per day plus 8 overnight diapers for the trip with our 22 month old. I'm sure it will be too much, but I'd rather have too many than scrambling for extra in the parks/hotel.

Anyone know if you can donate the leftover diapers to a diaper bank, or do they have to be in an unopened package? Would you feel creeped out if a stranger stopped you in your hotel and asked you to take their extra diapers? We're toying with both of those options right now. :confused3

DD started talking about the potty yesterday, and taking her diaper off as soon as she goes! Ha, totally not working on potty training while on vacation.

We bring five per day, and one over night. I also have one swim diaper per day, plus a few extras. I usually have about five extra diapers floating around in my bags, so we're covered. I always bring too many, and don't end up With that souvenir room! We probably change dd one diaper less, per day, at Disney World, because there is so much going on, and none of us think about it!

For our 4 month old we packed 10 Diapers (always had 2 or 3 extras) and 9 sections of formula (2 extra per day)

I also vary it based on age. For a young infant 10, for an infant up to 12 months 8, for a toddler 6.

This is our current numbers for our 22 month old.
For trips where it will be very convenient to get to stores (visiting family, a major city) with reasonable prices, I'd go with 8/day.
For trips where it would be difficult/expensive to get to stores (cruise, disney world), I would pack 10/day.
For Disney especially, packing in 10/day means that we have some room in our luggage on the way out for souvenirs!

I generally get a large package of diapers when we get there. If packing, 10-12 for a newborn, 8 for 4-12 months, and 6 for toddlers.

My 2 year old seems to go through about 6-8 per day (I swear she goes in the. As soon as a new one is on). Might have extras but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

If you are going some place like WDW, you might want to consider the time of year you go. We took our 20 month old to WDW at the end of May and early June and it was already plenty hot. I probably changed him more often there because I didn't want him in a wet diaper in the heat for any length of time and I was keeping him as hydrated as possible.

Did great until the last day and avoided diaper rash. The last day was the hottest, I didn't change him as often and he ended up with his worst diaper rash ever. I felt horrible!! We drove, so I had room for the extra diapers.
