For those familiar with DL, if you had a few days before a cruise how many days would you go to the parks for? Would 2 full days be enough to get the majority of the 2 parks done?
Since this visit(if we go) will probably be our only trip to CA, Im debating over 2 days in the parks and 1 day checking out other parts of CA, or just stay in the parks for 3 days. On our arrival day(1/2 day) we will be checking out the resorts & DTD.
Any advice would be appreciated....and remember this isnt our whole trip, just a little side to the real trip, the cruise. In other words, I dont have a week to spend there, which is probably what I really need, LOL, but would 2 days be workable I guess is what Im asking? :D

I think you could get most things "done" in 2 days. Although I usually recommend 3.

If this is your only chance to go to CA, then I think it's important that you see other parts of the area while you're there.

You can get the majority done in 2 days, though 3 would be optimal since you've never been to DL. You're probably looking at 3/4 day at DCA and the rest at DL. You don't say when you'll be coming, so I can't give anymore advice on which parks which days or estimate how much you can see since I don't know if it's off-season, on-season or what.

Thanks for the info everyone.
It would be next August, in fact a year from today. We would arrive on Tuesday the 9th(I think) and leave Saturday morning, the 13th for the cruise.

IMO, for a first time visit, you need at least three days, if not more to see the majority of the parks.

To maximize your time, always begin at DL which generally opens 2 full hours before DCA does (in the summer). On one day begin in Adventureland with Indy and work your way around. If you have a "runner" with you have them grab a Splash FP which go fast especially in August. On another day begin in Fantasyland starting at Matterhorn or Peter Pan both these will attract lines early that last all day. Which every one you didn't start with do next then work your way around Fantasyland.

For DCA, get there 30 mins before opening to get your chance to ride Soarin with little or no lines. They begin to let people in then and Soarin' is the only thing open (other then the stores).
