Hi all ~ My first several trips to Florida were for about one week in length. It was more of a relaxed Florida trip with one day at MK.

When we started having kids we made our trips longer.
2001 = 10 days
2002 = 11 days

They were great trips. We are now planning our April 2004 trip. I feel like visiting Florida and especially WDW but I also feel like a homebody lately. So I am thinking a one week trip would be fine. But when I write down all the stuff I want to do, one week isn't long enough.

Basically, we would like 4 park days, one option day, a beach day, and maybe Sea World. We also wanted a relaxed vacation next trip. I am so confused on what to do?

What do you think? 7 night? 9 nights? Thanks! S

We were thinking the exact same thing this time and decided on nine nights. Seven entertainment days, and two totally relaxing days. Sound right to us, gives us a chance to do everything at WDW and still just relax for two days.

Disnee Dad Says...............................The longer the better! If you go to Universal thats two extra days. Kennedy Space Center is an hour away and cheap fun. Nine days is good.
If you redeye out on a Friday night, and come back on a Monday you only use six days vacation, get 8 complete days and most of that first Saturday(you'd be surprized what a couple hours nap will do for you!).

I think this is a post that will grow with numerous opposing opinions, meaning there's no right or wrong, but a personal choice.

We find seven nights perfect. We have four days in the parks, one day in TL, and 2 "free days" during which we see sites and/or laze by the pool. For us, after seven nights we're definately not "sick of Disney" and we're sad to leave, but we're ready to be home.

For us, 10 days is perfect-1st and last are usually travel days - flying down, rental car p/u or return, unpacking/packing etc- leaving 8 for "other" activities. 7 is too short-gets you 5 "other" days only.

8 days is usually 1 day each park + 1/2 day to do must does again, 1/2 day waterpark, and 3 whatever else days (golf, wakeboarding, parasailing, riding, biking, DQ, La Nouba, PI)
-busy but great!!

This is what we've planned on the next 10 day trip

Day 1: Travel/DTD-dinner & badges only/pooltime
Day 2:MGM
Day3:MK
Day 4: relaxing, pool, naps
Day 5: relaxing, pool naps, PS @ resort & DTD
Day 6: Epcot/MK/Boardwalk
Day 7: relaxing, pool naps, PS @ resort & beach
Day 8: relaxing, pool, naps
Day 9: MGM/MK
Day 10: Relax & Travel (*maybe* DTD for early lunch)

We are only getting a 4-day hopper, since dh will be in class during the week, but there is still so much to do without one...
:cool:
