Hi....I am planning 2 days at MK, 1 day at AK, 1 day at Epcot and maybe 1 at Hollywood Disney. I did not purchase the park hopper option, but plan on visiting each park in the AM, back to hotel for a little while and then back to that park in the evening. We are staying on Disney property and the ages of my kids are 10 and 6. I am wondering if we can do AK and Epcot in 1 day.

thanks,
lindanj

Depends on how much you need to do. MK is definitely the first park to get additional days but we spend a lot of time at Epcot as well. We can do DHS and AK in a day (sometimes less), but we need more than 1 day at Epcot.

You can certainly do AK in one day. Because that park closes earlier than the others, you may not get a chance to see everything if you take a long afternoon break.

I doubt that you could do much more than a cursory tour of Epcot in one day. We are hard pressed to do it all in 2. But you could certainly do all of the headliners and get a superficial overview of WS if you plan your day carefully.

It depends a lot on how broad your interests are, and how much you stop to smell the roses.

Most people find they can do everything they are interested in at AK in one day.

At HS, if you want to see all the shows, Fantasmic, and rides, it'd be impossible to do in one day. But, most people find they can do all they are interested in doing in one day.

Epcot is huge, with lots of walking and their attractions take a very long time to go through. Innoventions alone would take a couple hours if you were to do everything there. If you only have 1 day at Epcot, make sure you go through and prioritize what you want to do. If you have 2 Days here, you won't run out of things to do (and you'd want to redo your favorites from day 1)

For MK, 2 Days is good. You'll be able to do most everything you'd want (though probably not all), and be able to reride favorites.

Also you didn't say when you're going. If it's in the winter with shorter hours you might want to skip a break. Also AK may not be worth a break at anytime. Also, even when staying on Disney property, travel to and from the resort's can take a long time. You may find you're better off taking a long lunch at the park as your rest period.

OP, just wanted to point out that unless you have park hoppers (or two different sets of tickets) you won't be able to go to AK and Epcot on the same day.

Hi....I am planning 2 days at MK, 1 day at AK, 1 day at Epcot and maybe 1 at Hollywood Disney.

If you have 5 days, I think this is your ideal itinerary. If you can add a sixth day (maybe a half-day on arrival day or departure day?), I think Epcot is your best bet.

I think the OP was asking if it would take more than one day to do either AK or Epcot, not that she wanted to go to both in the same day. She initially said that she planned to do one day each for AK and Epcot.

For me 2 days Magic Kingdom, 2 days Epcot can be done in 1, 1 day for Mgm(still call it that) and 0 day for Animal Kingdom. I can't stand AK!:yay:

All of the parks can easily take 2 days done at an easy pace.

AK can probably be done in 1 day if you stay open to close and follow a tight plan, but with a 6 year old....:confused3 might be faster touring than is comfortable.

HS can be done in the same manner in 1 day, but you probably won't see or ride EVERYTHING. But you should be able to do most of it.

Epcot is spread out enough and has enough that I like to spend 1 day just in the World Showcase and 1 day in the "Lands".

MK is almost impossible to do in just 1 day, and difficult to do in 2. There are just so many different things to see and do, coupled with it tends to be the "crowdiest" (if that's a word, you know what I mean). So even on slower days, there are still lots of people to deal with, causing slower lines.

With a 5 day ticket, you have a good plan. Especially for a 1st visit.

IMHO, YMMV.

I can only speak from our experiences . Our last 2 trips were 5 days. We found that AK we could do in a day. Epcot we could do in a day. HS unless you get to park first thing in the morning it was hard to do everything, we found that some shows overlapped each other and we had to chose which one we wanted to see more. Now on our last trip I felt we never got to do all of MK, which still bothers me because as a family we enjoy that park the most. So our trip in the fall we are scheduling 2 days for MK.

Ok guess I got lucky. Went labor day week of 2009, did Mk with 8 am emh did the majority of the park by noon. Finished by 3 and started over.

We usually do 2 days at MK, 2 days at Epcot, 1 day at DHS and 1 day at AK. AK is our least favorite so we've skipped it the last few times, but we'll head there this trip. My girls love Epcot so we always need 2 days there.

Our minimum recommendation for touring is
. . . ½-day, Animal Kingdom *
. . . 1-day, EPCOT World Showcase
. . . 2-day, Magic Kingdom
. . . ½-day, Disney Hollywood Studios *
. . . ¼-day, (after 6:00pm), EPCOT Future World (good for day of arrival)

* For quick-trips, AK and DHS can both be done in same day, followed by evening EPCOT.

We do 2 days MK, 2 days Epcot, 1 /2 day HS and the other 1/2 AK, 1 day at a water park. Have fun! All depends on ages of kids too. I have a 12 & 18 year old.

We have done the 5-day touring plan several times: 2 days MK, 1 day Epcot, 1 day AK, 1 day HS. Planning the days involves lots of trade-offs. You will not see everything in any of the parks in that amount of time, so it is important that you decide before you go (especially if it is during a busy season) what is most important to you and your family members in each park. Otherwise, you might leave disappointed and feel that you didn't get to see enough.

You can do each park in one day each but if you have young kids you may want to give MK two days.

We usually only do one day for each park b/c our kids are tween/teens and most of MK is for younger kids.

Thank you everyone, for your input. I was wondering how your little ones did with the "countries" in Epcot. I have a (2) 9 year olds and (2 )6 year olds (yes, 2 sets of twins) I was wondering if this part of Epcot will be too "boring" for my six year olds. Also, I was looking at the map of DHS and didn't see too many rides, mostly attractions. How did you, or more importantly your little ones like DHS. Just wondering if we should do 2 days at Epcot and skip DHS. I don't have park hoppers so can't do 1/2 in AM and 1/2 in another park in PM.

Thanks for all of your help,
Linda

I need at least two days in Magic Kingdom. Its my favorite park and has the most of my favorite attractions

My family and I usually do 1 day at AK, 1 day at Epcot, 1 day at HS, and 2 days at MK. We also go in the mornings, take mid day breaks back at the resort, and return in the evenings. I think each park needs one day, but it depends on how much you're planning to do there. I hope this helps, have a great trip! :thumbsup2
