How many days do you go to park?

We're going for a week in August (7 nights). We're doing five full days plus arrival day at Disney parks, and then one at US/IOA. We only don't do parks on our departure day. Our feeling is-- our hotel, airfare, and tickets are expensive-- we want to enjoy every minute of the trip! For us, that means go go going. We're not sit and lounge people on vacation-- if we're going to relax, we might as well stay home and relax.
We always get to our park of choice at rope drop and leave midday for a couple of hours to shower again, rest for a little bit, and change for dinner. We usually close our park of choice and always get the park hopper.

If we're there for 7 days then we go to the parks all 7 days. We might only be in a park for half a day or for dinner and fireworks but we go anyway. The additional cost for those few extra days isn't all that much so why not go? A 3-day base ticket is $238.56 (gate price with tax)per adult. A 7-day base ticket is $ 263.06 . That's a difference of $24.40 pp for 4 extra days. With the amount that we pay for resort and airfare, it's not all that much to pay.

BTW - We're also less likely to need to add hopping to a 7-day ticket than we are to want it on a 3-day ticket. That's because we can spread out our touring over a 7-day period but if we only do 3 days and there are 4 parks, we are going to want to hop to a second park on one of those days. Hopping is $57.51 per ticket!

Completely agree. We go everyday we are there. It may only be to one park for a few hours, but we go.

Usually stay for a week and go to the parks every day with the exception of departure. And that's only because we're getting on the road that morning.

Last trip was 8 days. We did 1.5 days MK, 2 days Epcot, 1.5 days HS, 1 day AK. Any days after 4 are only $5 each. It was worth $5 to go into HS for TOT, RRC, and Fantasmic. Our 1/2 day at MK was in the evening when they were open until 11. We got on more rides in those last couple hours than many families do in an entire day. Well worth the extra $5. I also didn't feel bad dedicating 10 hours to Drinking Around the World when we'd already spent a full day in Epcot and hit our favorites in the morning before getting to WS.

Every full day we are there we step foot in at least one park, even if it's just for the fireworks. Arrival day we go as long as we get there early enough, and departure day we never have time to go to a park .

every day .. at least one park. This coming trip is just DW and myself. We're celebrating her 29+1 BDay and will probably end up in taking mid day breaks but heading back to the same park or possibly a different park in the evening.

We usually go for 3 - 5 nights.

We only go two days, from rope drop to close. No park hopping for us, but we may leave the park to grab dinner at a resort that is close by. It's a nice break to regroup, then we head back. Our family has been fortunate to go annually, in recent years. Therfore, we don't find the need to visit parks as often. As someone else mentioned, we take advantage of other things Disney has to offer. My DH likes to ride the transportation around. For the planned, upcoming trip we may go to a water park, as we have eight days left on previous tickets. Another outting planned for this trip is to the WWoS complex. DH and DD have not been there.

We go every day, arrival and departure day if we can. Even if we do a waterpark we will hit one of the big 4 that evening. We stay 7 or 8 days. Now if we stayed for 2 weeks we might spend a day at the resort, well maybe.

If I have tickets for each day of my vacation I will be in the parks each day. If not I may spend a day at the hotel or DTD. If you are paying for a week of passes it is a waste of money to only go 3 days.

It depends on the vacation. Our last stay on property was for 10 nts and we went to the parks 9/10 including waterparks. We've also stayed on property for 3 nts and did 1 park day.

When we stayed off property for 7 nts we had 4 park days. This year we stayed off property for 7 nts and had 3 park days.

I really think it depends on what tickets you are buying, where you are staying, and which parks you want to go to. Last year we skipped the AK (too hot in June) but did the MK twice. This year we skipped Studios (we also went to Universal this trip).

We go every other day--never on the first and last day.
I think it depends on where you stay and what passes you buy..
My question would be what is there NOT to do at Disney....
Boats, Bikes, Jetskies, walking trails, parasailing, golf, shopping, drive a race car, Miniture golf etc etc................etc

For a weeks stay, we do 6 days at the park. If we did a 10 day stay, we'd do a break day in the middle, or maybe two, so we'd still do 6 or 7 park days. For us, anything under 6 park days would feel really hurried.

If we are there for seven days, I'd do six park days with Park Hoppers and one day at a waterpark (if it's a warm month). Otherwise, we'd be in the parks every day, just not all day.

That's what we're doing this summer also. If I had more days, I wouldn't go ALL day, but since we are there 8 days, then I have to make the most of the trip. Hoppers are the way to go. This gives you options on what parks and when you want to do them. We are also doing one day at a water park, breaks up the trip a little. Plus, I agree with other posts, 3 days is not enough for parks. You could spend 2 days at MK, alone!

We've done it every which way! Some trips we have gone every single day. Some we take "off" departure and arrival days. One trip we went to Sea World, Universal, Aquatica, Busch Gardens...that trip we only did Epcot one day though we based on site at Disney. This next trip we will be there for four days, and will only do MK and the rest DTD/resort days.

This is why the 7-8 day tickets aren't magical for us. We end up running ourselves into the ground and hitting the wall too soon. Next trip we are spending 7 nights with 3 park days, and one day at the waterpark. I'm still trying to work it out so there aren't too many late nights with early mornings after.

You are going to WDW for a week and only want to do 3 park days? What are you doing the other 4 days? Why are you skipping a park?

We usually do WDW for 8 nights and do 7 days in the parks.
