How many days do you do?

Hello,
So normally we go to Disney World, but I am wanting to change it up a little bit. When you do a Disney Land Vacation, how many days do you usually stay? I know it isn't as big as Disney World so I wasn't sure if our normal ten days would be too much for just Disney Land.

Yeah, 10 day may be a bit much for just DL & DCA IMO. 5-6 is much more manageable to see everything...but with 10 days it is viable to also mix in LA/Hollywood and some of the other California attractions as well.

We're doing 7 days for this trip. We've done as many as 12 and never felt bored. I think 10 days would be completely fine - it allows you to take a more relaxed pace.

We also like to go back and rest mid-day in the hotel, then hit the parks in the late afternoon and stay till closing. If we only stayed 4-5 days, I wouldn't want to take a break and miss out on things because of the short amount of time we were there.

I would recommend at least 3-4 days at Disneyland Resort, but also make some time to visit the rest of Southern California.
Based on my guest's previous experiences they usually like to visit places like the San Diego Zoo, Hollywood and Highland, Universal Hollywood, etc...

There is a lot to do in the surrounding area, besides Disneyland.

Other than APs they don't even sell Disneyland tickets longer than 5 days unless you live outside the country. I would go for at least 4 days, but I prefer 5. We have done parts of 6 before when visiting with an AP.

It depends on the type of trip. One day freaks me out but I'm not sure I could do 10 unless I was at the GCH or DLH to take really long midday breaks to enjoy the pools etc.....Five is perfect for us if we are staying on property, 3 if not.

I totally agree. Our one offsite trip I was ready to go before our last day (we stayed 5 days) But when we stay onsite, I never want it to end! We have done from 5 to 7 days when staying onsite and love every minute! When we did our 7 day trip we did, we got APs and did Disney everyday and loved it. We always take a mid day break and leave whenever the kids feel done. We love taking a slower pace.

When I go to WDW, I like to make sure I've got at least 8 full days so that I can do each park for two days. At DL, I think the same type of strategy is needed. You want at least 4 days so you can have two days per park. And for about $30 more, you can stay that fifth day and redo all the stuff you loved the most.

we are doing a Sat to Sat trip -- all days in the park(s) and this is our third trip for 2016

as a first timer for DL, I would say you want 5 days to ensure you get to see/do all the things you want to

I would say five especially if you are going at a busier time of year. Four would work if you were going off-season. We did six days once and didn't pace ourselves well. We were completely exhausted by the end of it.

We have been doing 4 days (TH-Sun.s) and still do not get to everything! There's always a number of things/shows, attractions, etc. that we say, "oh, didn't get to that!" So go with at least 5 days for max. enjoyment (and get park hoppers, too!)

The general rule of thumb is to allocate half as many days at DLR as you would at WDW, so 5 days would probably be good.

Gosh 10 days seem like it would be a lot, like someone previously said you can't even buy a ten day ticket. If perhaps you were staying on property and spent some time by the pool I could see stretching it out to around 8, but when I used to live in Northern California and make annual trips to Disneyland we would do 4 to 5 days. :)

5 day trip is our sweet spot. Really it's 4 full days. We arrive around lunch day 1 and depart after lunch on day 5. We rope drop and take a long afternoon break and easily hit up our favorite rides multiple times.

If you have the time & budget for 10 days I encourage you to hit up other things in SoCal! For instance maybe do a few days in San Diego. The San Diego Zoo is a full one day park in its own right. The Safari Park is great too! We did a day at Knotts last year (that's 15 mins from DL, could do a day at Knotts without switching from your DL hotel) and I'd recommend it, very different from Disney or Universal.

Btw, it's Disneyland out here, just one word :)

In February we were there 4 days. 3 adults, 2 under 2. We did everything we wanted once.

Later this month we'll be there 6 days. 4 adults, 2 under 2.

We go every year.

I think a 10 day trip would be nice to ca. 5 dlr days interspersed. Drive to see the redwoods, a day or two at the beach. Maybe drive to San Diego or take the train. I'd fly into lax or SNA. Normally prefer sNA but if you're doing things north I'd do that then head to dlr. then fly home from San Diego.

Most of the year, we do long weekends, 3-4 days. In the summer we also do a 5-6 day trip, then over Christmas we do 2 weeks.

Our trips are usually pretty laid back and more for relaxation.

We're semi-local, so we go on a lot of day trips, but when we're going for a longer trip it's usually 3-4 days. I think for someone visiting from a different state, I'd recommend 4-5 days.

It's so hard to say what could work for you...everyone is different. I am a four day girl, and always feel like I could be there longer. Keeping in mind we go at least twice per year, three if we're lucky. My sister on the other hand, can only handle two days. It just doesn't hold the magic for her. Everyone is different....
