I was just sitting here trying to figure out how many days to take off for the wedding. We are going to disney from December 29-January 6. The wedding is on the 3rd.
I work for Child Protective Services, so I have to take oncall on a rotating basis. I'm still kind of new to the job, so I'm just starting to build up vacation time. Thankfully, I can opt for comp time as opposed to being paid for overtime. That has helped add to the time I will be able to take off.
The other day, the girls were discussing how to split up call for the holidays. My dd is going to be 16 this fall, so I offered to take Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There are some of my coworkers who have little ones, I don't think it is fair to make them leave their kids on the holidays when they are so little.
So, anyway, I am thinking of taking off from December 26 through January 8th. That will give me some cushion time before we leave to get things in order, and a day or so to rest when we get back.
So, how much time are you planning?
