We are going for 8 days(FTP) and already have two character meals PS'd. 1900 Park Fare and Norway. We are hoping and praying for CRT and maybe going to do Crystal Palace and maybe one more 1900 Park Fare. Do you see the princess theme??? My four year old makes everyone call her Cinderella, and CP for the one year old. So getiing to my question, how many are you doing and how many is too many?

We only PS for one character meal per trip. That works for us. But our kids are 8 and 10, so it's fun but not mandatory for them. Although DD 10 always has the best smile while getting a character hug!!!!

One is plenty. They are costly and not the best food on the property. Pick the one type of character you want to see and schedule that meal.

For a trip that long I would make 2. I usualy do one breakfast and one dinner. That's jsut my opinion and I make them with different characters.

It really does depend on the age of your children and how much you and them enjoy character meals. We've done as many as 7 in one trip (10 days long)! My kids are now 5 and 2 and really enjoy the character meals, so we do a lot of them. This trip in July we're doing 3 because we were just there in Feb(did 5 then), and really don't feel like repeating some of them. Do as many as you like!! It does start to get a little old for the adults, but my kids LOVE IT and that's what I'm there for !!!

My son is 10, and the highlight of the trips are the characters, for him. We have always scheduled one per day, and that works for us. He just loves it. We've even scheduled two in one day. They are costly though, so if money is an issue, you might want to consider cutting down. As for the food... we have loved most of our character meals. Our favourites are Garden Grille and Chef Mickey's. Every vacation starts with Garden Grille, and ends with CM. It's a tradition. Then, of course.. we fill in the days in between as we like. :)

We try to always do a character breakfast at the Crystal Palace and we used to enjoy lunch at Hollywood & Vine. :( Now we will add another for dinner at Chef Mickey's or another maybe if the mood strikes us.

We travel with children ages 2,4,7,and 10. Last trip, we did a character meal a day. The kids loved it, but it did get a little old. By the last day of our 5 park day trip, the kids weren't quite as enthused about the characters. We may not do as many this year, but maybe only one less. Yes, they are costly. However, we always try to do lunch- except for CRT. That way, we can eat a very small breakfast and dinner. Since they are buffet, we make that our big meal for the day. If your children are excited about characters, the character meals are the best! I say go for it! Your children are only young once- why not make the best of it? Have a great time!

we try to go to at least 1 per day for a couple of reasons.
1. 3 girls (2,5,7)
2. It is only a couple of dollars more than other resturants, & it is a chance to relax.
3. don't have to wait in lines at the parks for characters
4. The kids get the real "disney magic" of character interaction in a private moment.

I feel they are usually the highlight of our trips.

Our trip last year was 10 total days in Orlando, and we did 5 character meals, plus Hoop Dee Doo. This year we'll only be there 8, with the first and last days being non-park days. I have resort character meals scheduled for those 2 days, and so far only one in between. I think we did a good amount last year, and the kids enjoyed every single one. They are really into the characters, and the lines can get long in the parks for autographs. With the Character Caravan no longer running, I think I'll end up scheduling more character meals.

Is there such a thing as too many? I mean you have to eat anyway :p Just kidding!!

On my most recent trip, we went for 11 days and ate at Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's and did the ice cream social. I liked all three of them! I also thought it saved some time because I didn't have to line up later on to see some of the characters in the park.

Thanks for the advice! We will probably hit 4 or 5 or more. Sometimes I slip into OCD girl and wanted to make sure this wasn't one of them.
