My airline tickets just went down $100. each GRRRR
Does anyone know if the $25 charge comes off your difference and then the voucher is issued or do you pay on top of it?
And then the $100 voucher is issued. OOOOH I'm so mad
because I called NW and they told me my flights early am departure and Late pm departure are very popular and would be the last to drop
Yeah right
Grrrr
Well still I hope you all have a Disney Nite:earsgirl: :earsboy:
Thanks for letting me vent
Grrrr

What a bummer huh? Sorry you are so frustrated. My tickets went down a bit also--only about 20.00 on NWA. I called and they do charge 25.00 to reissue the ticket so in your case you would get a 75.00 voucher back. I would think its worth it BUT in my case, it wasnt.

Good luck! Enjoy your WDW vacation!

Sorry you're bummed out.

But, airline tickets are kind of like playing craps. You roll the dice, and you take your chances. And, the good news for us as passengers, they do not go UP on us.

For $75 vouchers, even with the $25 fee to change, it would still be worth it. So if you booked a price you could live with in the beginning, look at the $75 as gravy.

Hope you have a good night

beebumble,
Which airline are you flying? I'm flying United in Dec. and my fare went down so I called and was issued a voucher for a future flight, but I wasn't charged anything. (It was the same flight # and everything) Are we talking about the same issue? Maybe it's based upon airlines?
Unfortunately I think I will be paying more money on my trip anyway, b/c when my family leaves I think some friends are gonna go to Disney and I wanna prolong my stay which means changing my flight home. I've been looking at prices and it seems like I will be paying an extra $200 for airfare and then of course more $ for the parks. Yikes...

My Delta airfare dropped by $70. I thought the change fee was $100. Is it $25? I'm confused. I thought that once you bought your ticket you were stuck with the price you paid unless you canceled and re-booked. Should I call the airline and see if they will drop my fare? Does Delta have different rules than NW?

Here is what Fare Rule 1 reads regarding price drops on Delta tickets.

IF A DECREASE OCCURS AFTER A TICKET IS PURCHASED
59 AND PRIOR TO ANY TRAVEL ON THE TICKET OR A NEW
60 FARE FOR WHICH THE PASSENGER QUALIFIES BECOMES
61 EFFECTIVE THE DIFFERENCE MAY BE CREDITED/REFUNDED
62 PROVIDED
63 1. THERE ARE NO CHANGES TO ORIGIN/DESTINATION
64 STOPOVER POINTS/FLIGHTS/DATES.
65 2. ALL CONDITIONS OF THE NEW/REDUCED FARE MUST
66 BE MET. THE ORIGINAL TICKET DATE OF ISSUE
67 MAY NOT BE USED TO SATISFY ADVANCE/RES
68 TICKETING REQUIREMENTS. THE BOOKING CODE OF
69 THE NEW/REDUCED FARE MAY DIFFER FROM THE
70 BOOKING CODE ON THE ORIGINAL TICKET. THE PSGR
71 MAY CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING REFUND OPTIONS
72 A. A CREDIT IN/TO THE FORM OF PAYMENT THAT WAS
73 USED TO PURCHASE THE ORIGINAL TICKET LESS THE
74 APPLICABLE CHANGE FEE
75 B. A NONREF MCO WITH THE CHANGE FEE WAIVED. THE
76 MCO CAN BE USED FOR FUTURE TRAVEL PURCHASE.
77 THE MCO MUST BE EXCHANGED FOR A TICKET WITHIN
78 ONE YEAR OF THE MCO ISSUE DATE.

What I usually do when my price drops online is to call Delta on the phone and ask for a price quote of my exact flights. If it is less than what I paid, I then give them my reservation information and ask for the credit vouchers for future travel. No change fee.

Same thing happened to me on Song. Sounds like they recently changed the policy and now charge the $25 change fee per ticket even if you are just rebooking the same flight at a lower price.

Waddya gonna do? I figured the sooner I booked the better the price. I'll know better next time.

This just happend to me this week on NWA. I booked my December tickets months ago for $276 each r/t. I checked on Monday and they were down to $166 r/t. I called NWA and was informed I would get a voucher for the difference less $25 per ticket.

Any wonder WHY I prefer flying SWA? They don't DO that nonsense.

I guess the policy must be different on each airline. I've received vouchers on American twice in the last year with no charge. As long as its the exact same flights they give me a voucher for the difference.

Our AC flights went down $200 per person! No refunds, credits, exchanges and if I wanted to cancel and rebook would cost me my $1000 deposit. Really pays to read the fine print ahead of time.

Because my tickets went down again today SO for $25 each ticket OUt of the cost of the original ticket I will be reissued 3---$125.oo vouchers. Well at least I didnt have to put out the $25 on top of that. Now if I dont use the tickets within a year I'm not out The difference and $25. DOes that make sense to you. I confuse myself. WhaT I'm trying to say is the phone call to ask for difference didnt cost me anymore,,,But why do they play these games. I asked her what would happen if The prices dropped
again and she said JUMP SHIP!

Same thing here too, booked on Air Tran for Oct. rates went down to $160. so booked on Sat. On Monday they went down to $136 Ait Tran will not issue any credit vouchers.

My mom had extra ticket from last June that she couldnt use so she said if we wanted to pay the $100 name change fee we could have the ticket:D

so when I went to the airport since I needed a letter from my mom to change the name they took the name change fee off the value of the ticket..

so the ticket was worth $210 so that left $110 and they put that on my other ticket!!!!!

so I went in there expecting to pay $100 up front to change the name and $177 for my other ticket....

not I walked out of the airport spending $67 for 2 round trip tickets non stop with great times!!!!!

no one can figure out why the left over value was put on the other ticket

I asked 3 different agents plus my brother is in charge of the "super saver fares" with Midwest airlines and even he couldn't explain it so Im keeping my mouth shut now!!!!;)

I got the full difference back from NWA last week. I bought on Thursday and they went down on Friday. Their policy is that if it changes within 24 hours of purchase, there is no penalty. After that, you pay the $25 fee.
