How Long would you stay?

So let's pretend: you had a unlimited # of days off, and unlimited funds, how long would you stay in WDW and at which resort???
:cool1:
I think I would stay for a month maybe five weeks, from the middlle-ish of October through Thanksgiving possibly. Not Sure which resort since I have only stayed at Fort Wilderness and CB.

A few years ago, I actually sat down and figured out how much it would cost to live at WDW for a year (as in, Jan 1 through Dec 31). I planned on hopping resorts every couple of weeks, and yes, that annual pass got very cheap on a per park visit basis. During peak times, I would be at value resorts, and not hit the parks as much - but in off-peak, it was deluxe resorts, and lots of park time.

I would stay for four weeks from Mid-October to Mid-November. I'm not sure which resort. I loved CSR, but would be trilled to try the Contemporary.

I wish I could do this - what a great trip that would be!:cloud9:

I'd stay six weeks.......arriving the week before Halloween and leaving the week after Thanksgiving.

I'd spend a week each in Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, Coronado Springs & Port Orleans French Quarter.

i think i'd stay the entire month of december, but i would be happier doing 3 weeks in oct and 3 weeks in dec. the first 3 weeks of both. i'd want to stay at some DVC. WL in december and whatever the most decked-out hotel is for halloween in october

I think that I could stay forever and never get tied of it, but the perfect trip for me would be to check in mid Oct and stay until the second week in January. I would spend time at multiple resorts.:goodvibes

The longest we've stayed was 14 days and that was at the Contemporary and around 20 years ago. I'm not one to switch resorts so it would have to be all at one. Mid-October to mid-November is a good choice and since our favorite park is Epcot it makes sense to choose the Yacht or Beach Club for the whole month.

I hate to put a damper on our dreams, but the one problem with a long stay these days is with the limited number of restaurants we actually like. We would get tired after a week or two. That would not have been the case ten years ago.

Well, did you come up with a figure?

I would stay for 12 weeks, Mid October to Mid January, just so I could see/do ALL the holidays in one go. I would start with BLT for 3 weeks, so I could get lots of easy-access park time right away. Then I would switch to AKV for a few weeks, to take things at a little slower pace. Next it would be off to an SSR Tree House for December (wouldn't it be fun to decorate a tree house for the holidays!). Finally, I would move to the GF from New Years Eve to the end, just to splurge! :cloud9:

Yeah, but I don't recall how much it was, exactly. Ballpark was a third of a million, maybe - but I included meals (ranging from Cosmic Rays to chef's table at V&A), souveniers, some for car rental, laundry, clothing, etc. IIRC, Grand Floridian and AKL took up a good chunk of the cost. :lmao:

I'm pretty sure I just fell in love with you when I read that.

I've thought about the where (as in which resort) often, but I guess I haven't given much care to the time frame. I mean, if we're talking unlimited budget, I'd likely have desires to travel around the world. However, since I don't have a passport, I'd go to WDW until I was able to get one. IDK how long that takes, but let's say....6 weeks.

I'd do a split stay. Three weeks at Contemporary and three at Beach Club.

I'd stay from October to March. I'd see all the holidays, several races/marathons, and the wine and dine. Then out before the crushing heat/humidity.

I'd stay at the Boardwalk and AKL. I love the Boardwalk during the holidays. So I guess in January, we'd hop over to AKL for most of the rest of our stay. I'd love to get up in the morning and sip my coffee while looking at the animals. Since the hubby would come along, he'd want to check out the BLT, so a week there.

I know that this is all in good fun but I couldn't imagine staying for more than two weeks or so and I'd split that between the Polynesian Resort and the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Then I'd be ready to move onto other places.

I like to see a lot of things.

I'd love to stay about 3 1/2 months: October through Early January. If money and time were NO OBJECT but I were limited to WDW, here is my dream plan:goodvibes:

I would start off in Kidani Village in October for about 3 weeks. Spend lots of time just enjoying the animals--slow breakfasts on the veranda, etc; enjoy their pool which really like and I would mostly hit water parks during that warmer time frame. I'd go to the Not So Scary Halloween Party a few times and spend a fair amount of time at AK. We would have to do the Sunrise Safari and the Wild Africa Trek while we were staying there.

Then we would move into the treehouse villas for another 3 weeks. How cool to spend the fall in the forest??? We would spend more time in the parks during that late October/early November time frame as the crowds should be fairly light and the weather comfortable. We would also try to do one of the bigger tours each week (probably Around the World on a Segway, Keys to the Kingdom and Inspiration Through Walt's Eyes).

Around Thanksgiving we would pamper ourselves in the Yellowstone Suite at Wilderness for 3 weeks. We would spend lots of time renting boats, riding horses at Fort Wilderness, visiting the spas, etc. We would mostly take a break from the parks other than popping in for meals and just one or two rides or shows.

We would spend early December up until almost Christmas in the Beach Club Villas. It would be fun to be so close to World Showcase for all of the fun holiday events there. We would enjoy leisurely meals in the various "countries" many nights. I am sure we would want to see the Osborne lights plenty, and head to MK for the Very Merry Christmas Party a couple of times. We could also just enjoy some family time in the villa playing games, etc and enjoy one last time to be able to cook our own meals if we got sick of eating out while at Wilderness Loge. We would get more park time in this slow time as well.

We would finish up by moving into a suite at the Grand Floridian just before Christmas (probably on Dec 21 so we would be there by my son's birthday) and staying until after all King's Day (January 6). Since the parks can be pretty crowded, we would have dinner shows booked for many days, plan on playing mini golf, enjoying Disney Quest, etc and just doing parks now and again when we feel like putting up with the crowds.

I actually think if we did it "right" we would have a lovely tiem and not get sick of it:rotfl: I obviously have waaaaaaay too much time on my hands to dream about this:rotfl2:

So kind of you to give your hubby ONE week out of 6 months :rotfl: I guess that's more than a lot of poor DH's would get.:rolleyes1

Wow!!! What a plan. When I hit the lottery I may steal a few of your Ideas.:yay: (of course I would have to actually PLAY the lottery, but that would take money AWAY FROM my Disney Jar.:rotfl:)

Don't worry, I have too much time on my hands too.:rotfl:

I'd probably still only stay 7-8 days at the most. I don't need much more time in one trip than that. The trip would either be over the week after Christmas into the new year or it would be in October.

I would love to stay from Thanksgiving to January 1. I would hop around to different resorts every 10 days to 2 weeks. I would love to stay at The Grand Floridian, The Animal Kingdom Resort, and The Yacht and Beach Club. How great would that be?? :yay:

If I could stay in a 1 or 2 bedroom unit at one or all of the DVC resorts I would stay a couple of months. If it was a regular room 10 - 14 days is enough for me. This time of year is perfect.
