We really only want to see four or five attractions at the AK, We currently only want to see Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari, Festival Of The Lion King, Dinosaur, and Kali River Rapids, but is there anything we should really try or see?
How much time would you alot for AK?

Shouldn't miss It's tough to be a bug, great 3d in the tree of life. All of the detail in AK is amazing, so even if you are dashing around trying to get through fast, take a minute and appreciate the detail that has gone into this great park. Think your attractions are great, we enjoy primeval whirl also, and are looking forward to the new nemo stageshow when it comes.

Have a great trip!

I think it's a day trip with maybe a break .We did the morning EMH until about noon one day ( after the first LK show) . Then another morning as well to rehit all the big rides.

Looking at it now we should have done a night EMH there to ride some of the stuff in the dark.

Everest has really changed this park for us as it fills the day to ride it a few times and do all the shows and trails in between.

We usually allow one day. I like to get there for EMH mornings and head right back to the Safaris...the animals are so active in the mornings. Now we'll have to swing by and get a FP for EE on our way. Then we do almost all of the other rides/shows and then head back to the resort about 3 pm for rest and relaxation. For whatever the reason, this park takes the most out of us. We are all hot and exhausted alot earlier than any other park.

I hate rushing through any park just to go do something else. If I'm traveling all the the way to WDW, I want to spend at least one full day in each park. JMO

My DD6 and DD8 love this park. We are going in Sept (can't wait to ride Expedition Everest :Pinkbounc ) and we'll probably go to AK two days.

I voted a whole day, though you could get through in a half if you really wanted to and depending on the crowds. We did a leisurely touring of the AK because there were so many great street performers and things to see like DeVine. My family enjoyed this park and I believe we got there at open and left around 4. (Park closing was 5 that day)

I'd add It's Tough To Be A Bug and Wonders of Flight to your list. Wonders of Flight can be done in between attractions when you are waiting for a FP time to come up. Based on your list, I'd say get in at park opening and plan to finish around 1pm or get to the park mid to late afternoon and stay till closing. (Don't know when you will visit and what the park hours will be.)

We were able to ride Expedition Everest multiple times using standby during the last hour before park closing on a non-EMH day. Arrive in the morning and you can use FP's a good bit; arrive in the afternoon and some attractions may not have FP's available for long, but the park usually empties out mid to late afternoon and standby isn't so bad... :cool1:

We usually go on the Extra hour and stay half the day. When have been several times and feel that we can skip It's Tought to be a bug and the exploration trails. It is a must for us to go! I love the AK!

We get to AK around noon and stay til close. If you leave before 4pm then you will miss the parade which we love.

The only caveat I'll add is AK can be stifling during the summer afternoon. The thick fauna traps all the moisture, so it is even more humid inside AK than it is at the other parks. Also the fauna tends to block the wind, so you cannot cool down from the breeze.

For that reason I think AK is a great place to visit in blocks - spend 3-4 hours there at a time, and come back on different days at different times depending on what you want to accomplish. (rides, parades, shows)

I say 1/2 a day...whenever we go, we stay for 2 days and do each park for 1/2 a day. It's enough time to do and see everything we want (eventhough it would obviously be nice to be there forever!) but that's keeping in mind that we eat once a day, go first thing in the morning, and leave right after the night show we see.

Granted, it really depends on when you're going and how heavy the crowds are, but about two years ago we did Animal Kingdom in about half a day. This was the week after Labor Day, when crowds were very light and there was hardly a wait for anything (except Kilamanjaro Safaris... that was 45 minutes). We also stopped for both breakfast and lunch and walked all the trails moving at a fairly leisurely pace. The longer the waits, the more likely it will extend your time in any of the parks, but I figured I'd let you know about our experience. Generally whenever we go we try to allot at least one day for each park, but we can usually do a couple of them in half a day, giving us time to park hop or do other things.

Our plan is to do the EMH morning and hope to grab an early lunch while we're there, see the same attractions as OP posted, and get out maybe by 1pm or so, and head to the resort. If we're having too much fun to leave, then we'll stay until our ADR at Bomas are getting close, and go straight there.

I voted for 1 full day, but you can really get through AK by about 2 - 3 pm, then it's up to you if you want to stay for the parade. We normally do, and then head back to the hotel. If you really push, you could probably get through by noon, but it can be hard with show times, etc. Also, if it's really slow, we do some of the rides multiple times.

Don't miss - It's Tough to Be a Bug.

depends on how long we'll be at WDW
EpCot gets double the time of the other parks

This Aug we're planning on 2 mornings and 1 late night at AK

I really like AK and wish I had two 1/2 days (mornings) to visit it, but only had time for one since the scooter that I rented wasn't charged well :guilty:
I had planned to start the first day with it, then end my last day with it. I had to forgo the first day and charge my scooter.

I was able to do several rides.

I'd say a day aught to do it. We love the Lion King show so we see it at least once or twice...then the Safari..Tough to be a Bug..Khali River Rapids etc. I agree that in the summer it can be very hot, humid and WAY to crowded...we went in December last time and it wasn't too bad. We're going to try the Sunrise Safari this time...can't wait!

I voted for one full day. Festival of the Lion King is always my last thing to do before I leave.
