Hello All,
A question for you folks in the know. We are arriving at Disney on May 5th and braving the first day of Magical Express. We arrive at 2:30 and are going to Pop Century. We have ps at CRT for 4:45....are we going to make this? I know there's no telling how long from when we get to the airport to get to the resort, but then how long is it to get from POP to CRT??? Thanks for any info you can give me! :moped:

I would allow for at least 2 hours to get from the airport to POP. I don't see how you make it.

Last trip we rented a car. We landed at 1110 and were out of the airport by 1200. We were to WDW (Wilderness Lodge) by abour 12:45. That is just over 1 1/2 hours with renting a car using National and Emerald Aisle. There is no telling how long it will take to load the bus and then how many stops they will make en route to POP.

Good Luck.

Duds

Id allow 4-4.5hrs

Before I changed our flights we were due to land at MCO 2pm. After Magical Express transportation, and checkin at Pop I was planning dinner at Garden Grill in EpCot. The DIS told me to allow 4.5hrs

(We changed flights and changed resorts so wont be needing to do this)

Assuming your flight is on time, everything would have to go perfectly for you to even come close to getting to CRT at 4:45. That means you get your bags right away, are on your way to the hotel and don't hit any traffic, there are no lines for check in at Pop, and a bus is waiting for you when you get to the bus stop. If all that happened, you MIGHT walk in to CRT at 4:45.

Possible? Yes. Likely? No.

Good luck!

Bob

I agree that it's really doubtful that you will make it. The only way is if your flight is on time, and you take a towncar directly to your resort. This is assuming you don't have to wait long for luggage or just have carry on.
Sorry...........I would try for later.

Try to move your PS. If you can't talk to the disney representative at the "welcome center". If the bus loads quickly you MAY be ok. If you're 10-15 minutes late for your PS you should be ok.

You might ask the Disney rep about taking a ME bus to the Contemporary and then going back to POP to check in after you come back from the MK.

Planes get delayed, you never should have made a key PS that close to your arrival time.

Best case scenario.....you get in at 2:30, the bus leaves by 3, you get to POP by 3:45, check-in quickly and are done by 4:10 and get on a bus to MK right away...you might get there for 4:45, but I doubt it. If there is a chance for something to go wrong, just because you're in a hurry, then it will. I would call back and get a later seating. By the time, I'm assuming you're having dinner at CRT. It shouldn't be too hard to get a later seating. Your peace of mind will be worth it!!!

Thanks everyone for your input. I don't know what I was thinking when I made the ps. This is our first trip to DW and will have a toddler and an infant, so I see now that there is absolutely no chance. I tried to make a later ps but so far nothing available. I just thought it would be a special way to start my 3 year olds experience (yeah, probably mine too!). Anyway, I will cancel that ps so someone else may get in. Thanks again for the info!

I still think you can make it if you consider going directly to MK, via a ME bus to a monrail resort.

Not a good way to start your trip.

Maybe you could try a PS at Ohana, for later in the evening, and watch the fireworks from the restaurant. We have done that, and it is a great way to start the trip.

Well, I cancelled the CRT ps, I don't need the stress of traveling and rushing to start the trip off. The only thing I was able to get was Chef Mickey's, but from what I read it should start things off in a fun manner. Thanks again for all the input, I really appreciate it!

I was going to suggest Chef Mickey's. That's our traditional first meal in WDW restaurant and it's a lot of fun and a great way to get in the mood without actually going into a park.

As far as taking ME to the Polynesian and having the bus take your bags to POP....a whole different truck takes the luggage. You don't go on the same vehicle as your luggage. And since you have to tell ME when you book what resort you are staying at, they will be expecting you to ride that bus. The people coming in at a certain time and the resort they are going to will tell Disney how to route the buses. I'm not sure but I don't think POP and the Polynesian would be on the same route. And your reservation calls for you to be delivered to POP, so they wouldn't have a spot for you on the Polynesian bus. At least that's how I think it would be.
