How long will Disney Reservations be down?

I have seen reservations being down for a period of time but never for more than a day with no indication of when it will be back up? Perhaps this is a periodic occurrence but I have never seen this specific situation.

Below is the message and it had this same message yesterday and for a couple days leading up to the 9th when they said it would be down. Looking to add a day to our trip and airfare is decent so I am stuck now waiting it out.

We are currently unable to make new Resort hotel reservations online and over the phone. You may still purchase tickets, book dining reservations and make FastPass+ selections. Thank you for your patience while we work to improve your future experience. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Anyone know what they are doing to the reservations "experience" ??
 
Are other people having trouble with their ADRs also? I can get to the point that it shows available times, but then I cannot continue to make the ADR.
 
I'm having trouble. Doesn't this usually mean something is coming out like a promotion so they are adding to the website?
 

I had trouble yesterday, so as last resort I signed out and signed back in. It worked then.
 
I just called - the CM I spoke with said hotel reservations should be available by noon today.

1:00 PM EST and its down. I can't imagine that any major hotel chain would allow their website and booking engine to be down for 48 hours. That's lost business for them.

Not necessarily. Most people interested in booking will just wait impatiently until the system is working again. It would only be the very few people who wanted to stay last night or tonight who were booking last minute that would be out of luck completely.

I do not know..you may be right..I just thought this is an unusually long time to be down. Still down as of 3:55 Eastern Time.
 
I was just able to complete online checkin, so there are some parts of the reservation system that still work. Hopefully that means the maintenance is almost complete.
 
Tried to make a new reservation at 2:00, spent 45 minutes on hold and was told to call back in an hour. Tried again at 4:00 and they are still down. Was told try back again in a couple of hours.

They've been down for a couple of days due to some sort of systems issue.

Welcome! Yes..it is still down as of now. I wonder if anyone has seen it down this long? Must be a big update or change they are making to the system for booking vacations.

I'm very curious about this too. Seems likely that it will just end up being regular maintenance that for some reason ended up taking way longer than anticipated. But I'm hoping for some actual update. Preferably for 2018 packages since I'm impatient, but I know it's early in the month for that.
 
Although re-reading the message saying the site is down, it cites the fact that the work is "to improve your future experience." Wonder if that is just their standard language for this sort of thing or if they are making bigger changes to the booking experience.

Yes that is what I was wondering....I had been on the site (disney is my home page LOL) and I had seen a couple days before the 9th they were warning that no reservations would be able to be made online or by phone stating the 9th..it has never given any indication of how long this would be. I assumed it would just be an afternoon sort of thing. Then airfare came down...of course on the 9th and I figured I would add a few days to our August trip and it was down. Figured certainly it would be up the 10th.....nope. Strange that there is no clue as to the duration. In the past I am almost certain they would say a few hours or a certain day. Not this open ended sort of thing?

Original timing was a little weird from a Business perspective. Not sure when the least busy day is for bookings at Disney resorts. If Friday is the least busy day then...

Putting on my IT hat. Start an upgrade late Thursday night that carries over into Friday day would make some sense.
Since they only mention Friday outage, then the assumption I made when I read it would be up by Saturday morning.

That hasn't happen, so I imagine things went south. I am guessing they are having database issues.
