How long were you at the hospital before your babies were born?

My first was born just about 20 minutes after I arrived at the hospital. I was out shopping (well I had nothing for the hospital LOL) and stopped by the Dr.s office, at which point the nurse took a look and exclaimed " Holy S..... the head is right there!!!!!" We all piled into our cars and the rest was history. My husband still jokes that if we had only stayed a little longer at the store we could have gotten free stuff.
My second was born about 20 minutes after getting to the hospital too.
Number three was not quite 10 minutes.
Number four was another go to the Dr and right to the hospital, but I was there for 1 and1/2 hours.
Number 5 was an emergency induction, I was there for 12 hours.

For 1st one, I was there 1 hour and 15 minutes, panting the last 15 because they "lost" my doctor.

For the 2nd one, I was in Admitting for 10 minutes and as soon as they wheeled me into the delivery room, she was born. They didn't even have a chance to turn on the lights in the delivery room.

I was only on the Mag for the first four days. And then just bedrest and if the contractions measure d over a certain level they started it back up again. The Tribuiline did not work at all for me. I entered the Hospitol on July 18 and returned home with Babies on August 25th.
I see you had the same deal! There was a woman in the miscu next to me. Who had been there 4 months with her quads, and she had a one year old at home. Can you imagine missing 4 months of your babies first year? The poor thing! They let her go across the street for dinner and she delivered 45 minutes after she walked back in.

Suzannen, your 2nd one sounds like my sister's 3rd. She was at the hospital only 15 minutes and her DD was born. We always joke about my coffee still being hot at the birth!!! I figured I would be on my 3rd or 4th cup as I helped my sister thru labor!:teeth:

Twinmomplus2new....I can't imagine what you had to go thru!! It was hard enough for me to be away just three days earlier in my pregnancy leaving my 2 yr old at home.

I would get admitted into the hospital the night before and have my children the following morning or early in the afternoon.

My first and only biological child...I was at the hospital about 6 hours.
Four weeks before my due date I had an appointment on a Friday and they said "Now you start coming every week, see you next Friday!"
But the next Monday my water started to break at work at 1 pm. It was more of a tear than a rupture of the membrane, so I was very puzzled as to what was going on...no labor pains at all, just this "trickle" of leakage. So I called the doctor and they said come on over (a few blocks from my office). So as I heaved myself up on the exam table the water actually broke...there was a FLOOD  and the doctor said "You're having this baby today!" I checked into the hospital just after 4, the labor pains started just before we got there, and DD was born at 10:16. :)

Nobody kill me cause it seemed like a long time to me . But I did about 4 hours with my 1st ( 1 1/2 hours of hard labor) and I did 1 hour with my son it was about 1/2 hour of hard labor. He was late VERY late and I was going to be induced but I scared myself into labor LOL.

Okay.... I've only read to page two so I don't know every one's story yet, but here is mine.

DD... water broke 11 am (24 days before due date), went to hospital to be checked about noon, but asked to be allowed to go home to labor. Was told to come back when contractions were 3 min apart or by 7 pm.... Returned at 7:30pm with contractions less than 3 min apart.... DD born at 12:37 am, so about 5 hours.

DS.... contractions started at 9:30am.... called DH and told him about it but told him not to come home yet.... he came home after lunch. Waiting for DD to wake up from nap and my Mother to arrive to watch her.... finally decided I couldn't wait any more so we brought DD to the neighbor's house. On my hands and knees in the backseat of the car.

DH called local police for escort to hospital.... they offered an ambulance and I took it for comfort reasons. We met the town ambulance at their station. DS was born in the ambulance less than 3 miles from the ambulance station, about 18 miles before we got to the hospital!!! (We had left house at 3:18pm, dropped off DD, met ambulance, got loaded up and "prepped" by ambulance crew, drove off, and DS was born at 4:07pm!) BTW, we live 45 minutes from the nearest hospital...................P:crazy:

Let's see,

My daughter was 18 days early, so I worked the night before while labor was beginning, went home and slept until I went to the hospital at 9:00 am next morning. My Dh and I watched Bumper Stumpers and game shows until DD was born at 6:55 pm. So, I was at the hospitaal for 10 hrs.

My son was 25 days early so I was at work when my water broke, went home to throw some things in a plastic bag, ( never had anything packed yet, LOL ) and got to the hospital at 11:58 pm. DS was born at 3:25 am so, I was there 3 1/2 hrs.
