I just called DFTW line and FINALLY got someone who was willing to go ahead and take my information two days before I was able to book! :cool1:

We are shooting for October 1st, and were suppose to book on Friday April 1st. She told me that she would pass my info along to a planner, and someone will be in touch with me in the next two to three business days. I was wondering how many days did it take your planner?

We heard from our planner the same day that DH called to make the initial inquiry. But we were booking only five weeks or so beforehand so I think maybe we heard quickly because the timing was so tight.

I got the same response, saying 2 to 3 days for someone to call me. We also called on a Wednesday and by Friday had still not heard from anyone, so I waited till Monday and called them and asked what was going on. So THEN a consultant called me, about an hour later.

Hi and congratulations!!!

What they will do is pass your information along to a Coordinator. They should call you back within a few days, but the wait is always difficult. :goodvibes

The coordinator will stick with you until you fill out and return the LOA, which is the initial contract, along with the initial deposit. After this is signed, mailed/faxed back. They will return a copy of the signed contract back to you along with annual passes :cool1:.

At this point an official planner will be assigned to you who will take care of the rest!

I second the poster above...

When you call, you will be put in touch with a 'Sales Consultant' (this is NOT your planner). They will get your contract to you for singatures/work out the main details like locations, times, etc. Then, after about a month you will be given a 'Wedding Planner', who will work out all the details with you about the wedding day. I have now been through the process twice because we had to postpone once. We are now back in the original stage and waiting to be given BACK to a planner.

This is a good time to collect all your questions, concerns, ideas about your wedding day. When you talk to the planner that will be the time to go over all the 'details'. :)

Happy Planning!:wizard::hippie:

Also wanted to mention that another reason we may have heard so quickly is because our planner handled everything from LOA to the contract to the details leading up to the day of. Not sure if this is a Memories thing or a short notice thing but we didn't have a sales coordinator, just our planner right from the start. Good luck, hope you hear soon!:goodvibes

Well I have to say dang they were quick! Karen called me today only a few hourse after I called DFTW phone line. She said she cant offically book me until Friday morning, but she penciled us in and said she will be emailing me the conformation email on Friday and we cant send back our LOA and depost!

Seems like it really may go quickly! Is Karen going to be my planner? Or will I be assigned someone else?

Karen S. was our planner - she handled everything from the initial booking 'til the day of (then Vita was there they day of our vr - with Memories they mention in the info that sometimes your planner isn't the one who is there the day of your event). Good luck!:goodvibes

Hi all. I've been reading the wedding board since last week when my sister decided to plan her wedding during our August vacation.

She has called Disney at least 3 times over the past week, has waited on hold for at least 20 minutes, has even sent email.........with NO RESPONSE.

Now we are true blue Disney fans and are accustomed to their usually very high quality of customer service. The lack of response or service has been most disappointing. What does one have to do to get anyone to even TALK TO YOU?

Does anyone have any ideas? This has been going on since last Sunday. Are they not calling back because she ONLY wants to talk about an escape package?

Has anyone else experienced this? With less than 5 months to go, my sister can't just continue to wait until someone decides to answer the phone....

Thanks for any suggestions!

So sorry about the unmagical disney service. Has your sister already passed along her information with the regular DFTW line? If so, when she calls back have her wait on the DFTW line until she hears an option that says "if you have already booked and are currently working with a diseny wedding planner press blah" Have her press that and see if she can get in contract with someone. Normally there is always someone there....other than that I am not sure. They have been more than awesome about everything so far with our wedding including daily emails.

Let us know what happens!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your un-magical experience! :confused3

I have been calling DFTW for over a year now (calling pretty regularly - we postponed our wedding once from a DCL wedding, then postponed our Wishes wedding once as well. Anytime I call I always get through to someone. This past week I had trouble getting in touch with my sales consultant (kristi), she was on vacation for a week. Maybe try the last post and pressing the number for if you have a planner -- maybe just talking to a different person and telling them your concerns. I would be happy to give you the different number I have for my sales consultant's assistant, she ALWAYS answers the phone when I call. Maybe she can get the ball rolling for you - her name is Meredith and she is Kristi's assistant. :hippie: I can also give you her and Kristi's email, Meredith usually answers me within the business day I email her.

Thanks for the responses. :)

I have not spoken to my sister since yesterday morning.

However, to clarify.....she had called the number on the DFTW website and left messages. She hadn't gotten past that stage. I'll talk to her later on and see if there has been progress.

Has she been calling during business hours? 9 to 5 eastern time, m-f? Someone has always answered when I've called.

My thought exactly. Another thing- they are SLAMMED, being that wedding season is coming up. I'm guessing that weddings with signed L's OA are assigned to planners at one time, which seemed to be Thursday, so they have lots of new calls to make, on top of the weddings the planners are already working on.

We are planning a 10/8 Memories wedding - I called yesterday & was told I have to call back Friday (4/8). I was told the dates don't open up on their computer to allow them to book a Memories Wedding until 6 months out from the date you reserve. She was very nice, but it's so hard to wait - I am worried we won't get the date/time or location we want!

Hi....I'm updating my prior post. My sister finally spoke to someone at Disney Weddings. She called on a Tuesday and just waited until someone answered the phone. They did confirm that they had received her messages and email and offered no explanation for not calling back other than they were busy.

My sister did say that the person was friendly, helpful, informative, etc. It was just frustrating trying to get a person to talk to!

The happy end to this is that she now has her date and venue set and is merrily on her way................

Update: I called yesterday morning at exactly the 6 month mark. The salesperson took my info & sent an email to confirm my email. A few hours later Vita called & said she was to be my planner & confirmed I am "penciled in" until she receives the signed contract & deposit back. She seems very nice! I'm so happy to finally get this started. :dance3:
