How long to switch Castaway Club status?

We have a Very Merrytime cruise booked in December. We are thinking about taking a short summer getaway too. I’m looking at the FL resident Aug 7th sailing out of PC. That cruise would kick us up to Gold. How long does it take for the bump to the next Castaway Club level to happen after your cruise ends? I’d love to take advantage of the Gold reservation dates for the December cruise! I think Gold booking for our Dec 14th cruise starts the last week of August.

Same question was asked back in March. People reported that their status had changed on debarkation day.

I got off the magic on the April 18th and i checked on the 19th and I had switched to platinum it was my 10th cruise.

It's always a good idea to check your status, when a change is done. When we made Platinum, only my husband's account showed he was Platinum, I was still Gold (with the same number of cruises listed on both our pages). I had to contact the Castaway Club to point it out and they fixed it.

We switched from Gold to Platinum during turnaround in the middle of a B2B. We could not checkin on Platinum day for the second cruise since we were Gold at the time, but we were Platinum without having to say anything for the second leg. It is immediate when they close the cruise.

It did take about a week for my check in date for the next cruise to update, so be aware of that if the timing is close.

Sorry; that was intended as a verification of where I was getting the info and not a rebuke! ;)

And I didn’t mean to come off snippy and rereading it, I see I did. Sorry! But I would have understood, anyway. Drives me crazy when people don’t at least try to search. Of course, my searches (on here) lead me down a rabbit hole of Disney so it’s all good.

I actually didn't have a lot of luck with this and eventually had to call DCL - TWICE - to get it fixed. We got off the Fantasy in November 2018 as gold; when I logged in my status was updated as Gold but my check in dates for the future cruises I had booked were all still Silver. They NEVER changed. If I made a payment or changed the booking somehow, then my check in date changed. However, for our DVC cruise this coming October my check in date never changed as there was nothing I could change about the reservation. I called DCL and they were like "wait and see, it will change." Well, it never did. I got fed up and at the end of March I called DVC member services and they were super helpful. I was on the phone for nearly an hour because THEY were on the phone with DCL IT on my behalf. Finally it got changed. So yeah, if it doesn't change for you right away, make a stink lol I mean, I wasn't rude at all, just saying the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

I would give it a week - that is what I was told and for me it worked. I think prior to a week they will tell you to wait for a week before stressing it. After that if it hasn’t, definitely escalate (though unless you are DVC, member services won’t be able to help you).

When we finished our fifth cruise I checked our status while we were still onboard and it had updated already.

Ours switched between B2B cruises also and was updated accordingly.

Just to clarify - as @bcwife76 and I have said, there is a difference between status updating and the information for check-in dates updating. Status seems to do it as soon as you're off the cruise. The check-in date usually takes about a week but could take longer and require intervention from tech.

I don't remember if they caught that we went from Silver to Gold on our B2B, so I mentioned it at check in to make sure we got the new lanyards. Also, don't remember if they had the right stateroom gifts on board, I think they did.

@bcwife76 thank you - I thought I was crazy. We became Platinum in November 2018 and our CC status changed immediately, but I noticed my PIF and check in dates for the cruise I took last week did not. I get a little OCD and keep spreadsheets to track my cruises, PIF dates, and payment schedules (Disney Visa) and I kept swearing my dates should have been earlier than the website showed. We ended up waiting to PIF and start checking in because we thought we might have to cancel or move the cruise at one point so I didn't worry about it any further. I am now going back in to look at our next cruise to see if it was ever updated to Platinum dates. If not I will be on the phone with my TA to have them get it corrected so we can be sure to do everything on our first available day for our VM cruise this winter - I want to be sure I get the best chance to get the tastings and Palo times I want.
