We were thinking about doing trex restaurant on a day we are going to hollywood studios. How long does it take to get from one place to the other? HS is open until 7 and I am not sure if that is a whole day or not - we are going in january so hopefully lines are less.

Not sure if you can take a bus from DHS to DTD? If you can.... plan on at least 45 minutes, and since you are staying til parks close I would add another 30 minutes to that just to be safe.

If you can't... you will have to take the bus to another resort and catch another bus to DTD. Or you could catch the bus to one of the PO resorts and catch the boat.

I'm also not sure if you can get a bus to DTD from HS. The later in the day the longer it takes as the traffic gets worse because people seem to visit DTD at night when there are limited park hours. Like OP said allow at least 45min

When going to DTD from MOST locations the drivers pick up let off do loop dee loops and I PROMISE TOOK US 55 min. I swore we couldn't possibly have even been in FLA anymore. It was a nightmare.:scared1:

There is no bus directly from DTD to DHS or from DHS to DTD. You'll either need to take a taxi from DHS to DTD or get to one of the resorts and then take a bus from there to DTD.

The buses from the Epcot area resorts to DTD take about 30 to 45 minutes depending on other stops and how quick passengers are to load and unload.

DHS is not the easiest park to get to DTD from. This is because there are no direct buses between DTD and any park; you must transfer at a resort. Here are the suggested alternatives:

Bus to Pop Century, bus to DTD
Bus to Saratoga Springs, walk or bus or boat to DTD
Bus to POFQ, POR or Old Key West, boat to DTD
Walk to Boardwalk, bus to DTD
Boat to Swan/Dolphin, bus to DTD

I tried this and it took almost 2 hours before we got there. I didn't know there was not a direct bus. A CM told us where to wait and it ended up being for a chartered bus that never came. The only way to get to DTD is from a resort. There is not park to DTD transportation. I would say the best would be the walk to Boardwalk and a bus to DTD. That would be the quickest as you wouldn't have to wait for any sort of transporation for the first 1/2. We did the boat and waited for about 15 minutes for it to fill up. You can walk to Boardwalk quicker than that.

Good luck.

I would just take the bus to Saratoga Springs, get off at the Congress Park stop and then use the walkway or boat to Downtown Disney.

IMHO, the best way is to take a taxi. It is a very short drive so shouldn't be very expensive.
